MONARCH HAILS NSCDC BOSS
In commemoration of his recent ascension to the position of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, a delegation from Niger State led by Alhaji Muhammed Alfa Musa, representing His Royal highness Etsu Umaru Bago III CON , the Emir of Lapai, visited the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps headquaters.
The purpose of the meeting was to express support for one of their shining stars whose patriotism, humility and devotion to duty has lifted high the banner of the emirate in the country. The traditional ruler, through his representative, assured the Commandant General of unwavering support from his people to ensure the Corps mandates are achieved.
In response, the Commandant General Abullahi Gana Muhammadu received the contingent with all due honours, promising that, with the Grace of God, to live up to the expectations placed on him. He added that he joined the Corps as a result of passion and nothing more, never knowing that he would one day reach the height of his esteemed position.
He reiterated that it was with the support of his former boss Dr. Ade Abolurin, over 200 persons where recruited from Niger State, himself included. But now my constituency is the whole Nigeria, he said.
The CG was also visited by the Association of licensed Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALSPN) led by Mr. Davidson Akhimien. He hailed the open-door policy maintained by the Corps leadership which has led to a vibrant and capable Corps that in turn created a sturdy private guard industry free of quackery.
The CG appreciated the visit, stating that the PGCs are to the Corps what the passport office is to Immigrations. However, he stated that PGCs were not yet up to the standard required of the nation, that it needed an influx of graduates as those involved with standard uniformity.
The Association assured the Commandant General of continued collaboration to forge a way forward at both federal and state level and to professionalize the PGC to a standard required by the Corps. Mr. Akhimien stressed that Nigeria has within it the solution to all security challenges without involving foreigners with no understanding of the fundamental issues of contention between factions.
