Forgiveness

October 31, 2018

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses (Mark 11:26).

"Brother Hagin," a woman once said, "cast this old, unforgiving spirit out of me. I've got something against a woman here at church, and I can't forgive her. I don't seem to have the ability to forgive."

I replied, "Do you ever have to forgive your husband?"

"Oh, yes. I have to forgive him, and he has to forgive me."

"I thought you said you didn't have the ability to forgive."

She laughed and said, "I can forgive, can't I?"

"Certainly," I said, "if you can forgive one person, you can forgive another."

She understood and replied, "I can forgive. I do forgive. That's it!"

And it's just that simple. Don't complicate forgiveness. Jesus said, "When ye stand praying, forgive." That means we can forgive. Jesus didn't ask us to do something we can't do.

Confession: I can forgive. I am quick to forgive. And my Father in Heaven forgives me.

It's Your Decision - Faith to Faith Devotional

October 30

It's Your Decision

Kenneth Copeland

And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw [Jesus],he fell at his feet, And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. And Jesus went with him.

Mark 5:22-24

I wonder when God is going to do something about this problem! Have you ever asked that question? If so, you may be surprised to find out that the answer depends 100 percent on you.

There's an incident in Mark 5 that will show you what I mean. Jesus had just gotten out of a boat and people were pressing all around Him, "thronging Him," it says. They had Him shoved up against the shoreline when suddenly there came a man moving through that crowd to get to Jesus.

Throwing himself at Jesus' feet, Mark records, he prays and beseeches Him greatly, saying, "My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her... and she shall live."

Think about this situation for a moment. Here's a man who's politically on the level of the mayor of the city. But he's so doggedly determined to get to Jesus that he fights his way through the crowd and clears out enough room to fall at Jesus' feet. He's made a decision—and when he gets to Jesus, he says exactly what it is: Lay your hands on her and she shall live.

Let me ask you something: Who do you think is directing the ministry of Jesus here? This one man! A man who's made a decision. When he speaks that decision out, Jesus doesn't say anything. He just stops what He's doing, turns around and follows him.

In a crowd of literally thousands, the faith decision of one man is directing the actions of Jesus.

What does that mean to you? It means that if you're sitting around waiting for Jesus to decide to heal you... for Jesus to decide to help you...for Jesus to decide to prosper you and give you victory...you're in for a long wait. Because that's not Jesus' decision.

It's yours.

PDP Mourns Anenih

Press Statement

PDP Mourns Anenih, Says His Death Is A Monumental Loss

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is shocked by the news of the demise of one of our founding fathers, former Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman and former Minister of Works and Housing, Chief Tony Anenih, the Iyasele of Esanland.

Chief Anenih was a great Nigerian, a light bearer, brilliant administrator, fine officer, quintessential nationalist and democratic icon, who made innumerable sacrifices for the unity, stability and development of our dear nation.

Indeed, Chief Anenih, who was known in the political circle as “Mr. Fix it”, owing to his ability to find solutions to very knotty political and governance issues, remains a colossus with unparalleled array of legacies which will be celebrated for generations.

His roles in ensuring the stability, not only of our great party but also for our nation at large, stood him out as a patriot who dedicated his life for the service of humanity.

The PDP is particularly pained that Chief Anenih left the stage at the time the party and the nation needed his wealth of experience the more, especially in our collective quest to restore good governance and democratic ideals in our country.

The PDP therefore condoles with the Anenih family, the government and people of Edo state and pray that God will grant the nation the fortitude to bear this monumental loss.

PDP Challenges Buhari to Soeak Out on Indictment by His Finance Minister

October 28, 2018

Press Statement

PDP Challenges Buhari to Speak Out on Indictment by His Finance Minister

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenges President Muhammadu Buhari to speak out on the declaration by Finance Minister, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, that the policies of his administration were hurting the nation and destroying investor- confidence in our economy.

The party said the declaration by the minister is a vindication of its stand that the Buhari administration was responsible for the nation’s economic woes and expressed dismay that President Buhari has kept mum on the issue since the minister made her declaration last week.

Though the minister particularly alluded to the administration of the colossal fines imposed on MTN Nigeria and four banks, available data showed that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government has been subjecting businesses to very harsh and punitive policies, leading to the dearth of both domestic and foreign direct investments and its attendant economic hardship on the citizenry.

The PDP had always alerted the nation of the negative impact of the harsh economic policies, high-handedness and vindictiveness of the Buhari administration on investors. This is in addition to heavy and multiple taxations, import and foreign currency restrictions, clampdown on free trade, corruption and avoidable flops, which have continued to scare investors away from our country.

Today, investors in key sectors are pulling out their interests, foreign revenue is dwindling by the day and our economy has continued to dip under President Buhari, with no hope in sight.

Only last month, the same Minister of Finance alerted that the nation was facing revenue challenges; a development that stems directly from the harsh policies of the Buhari administration, coupled with its incompetence and lack of creative ability to engage in the global market and run a productive economy.

The PDP invites Nigerians to hold President Buhari responsible for the economic disaster and the hardship that our nation has faced in the last three and half years.

Our party restates that if President Buhari had heed wise counsel to accept his incompetence and hands off economic issues, end corruption in his Presidency and allow better hands to manage the economy, our nation would not be in the quagmire we are in today.

The PDP, however, urges Nigerians not to despair as it has succeeded in throwing up a very credible, visionary and result-oriented Presidential candidate in Atiku Abubakar, in line with the determination to open a new era of economic prosperity and national cohesion under the PDP, come May 29, 2019.

Punish Perpetrators of Violence in Kaduna, other States - Christian Association of Nigeria tells government

Punish Perpetrators of Violence in Kaduna and other states  - CAN

The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on the both the Federal and the Kaduna state government to rise up to the challenge of checkmating past killings in the state with a view to bringing masterminds to book.
CAN notes with shock, disappointment and sadness the two weeks of tragedy and disaster that had led to the  killing of a paramount ruler, the Agom Adara, Dr. Maiwada Raphael Galadima that forced the State Government to reinstate a 24-hour curfew last Friday in Kaduna metropolis and environs, Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru, Kateri and Kachia.
The Agom Adara was attacked and kidnapped on Friday, 19th of October, 2018, along with his wife who was released the next day. His Police escort, driver and three others were not  lucky as they were killed at the scene of the abduction carried out by no fewer than a dozen of bandits.

Although it is believed that no fewer than 100 lives have been killed between last week Thursday and last Monday, but the Police and the State Emergency Management Agency have reportedly put the number of the death at 78.

CAN commiserates with the government and the people of Kaduna State, especially the Adara Chiefdom  over the tragedy and pray to God to comfort all the bereaved and heal those who are recuperating in the hospitals and homes.

CAN is surprised to note the unending killings in the country, especially the response of the Federal and State governments with the security agencies to the menace.

We have it on a good authority the killings going on in Adamawa, Benue and Plateau states in the last two years have been going unchecked as if nothing unusual is happening? Many were even unreported. This is a sad commentary on the part of the government. Has Nigeria become a lawless state? Are those hoodlums better equipped and more organised by our security agencies? Are the security opetatives compromised? This is reprehensible.

We ask the political class to stop politicising the orgy of killings and for both state and Federal Governments to stop rationalising the mass killings of innocent Nigerians and  sanction those responsible for this horrifying bloodshed.

While commending the state government for reviewing the curfew this Sunday afternoon for people to access food and other items, we once again reiterate our calling for the following:
1. A total overhauling of our security agencies with a view to replacing all the security chiefs.
2. Implementation of all the White papers on ethno-religious uprisings in the recent past.
3. Immediate trials of those apprehended for the killings in Southern Kaduna two years ago.
4. Prosecution of those responsible for the unending killings in the Northcentral zone.
5. Governments should stop handling the killers in our midst with kids gloves.
6. Payment of adequate compensations to all the bereaved and victims of the ethno-religious conflicts in the last five years.
7. Government should recover all the lands and villages illegally occupied by the hoodlums and criminals in the North Central.

As we approach another general election, all hands must be on deck to restore peace and sanity to all the trouble spots in the country. Enough is enough!

CAN solicits the support of the media in making this known to the public as we appreciate their usual support and understanding.

Thank You.
Signed
Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, Special Assistant (Media&Communications) to the CAN President, His Eminence, Rev Dr Samson Ayokunle.

Islamic Movement v the Troop: Army tells own story

PRESS RELEASE

ISLAMIC MOVEMENT IN NIGERIA ATTACK TROOPS ON ESCORT DUTY AT ZUBA ON SATURDAY 27TH OCTOBER 2018

Troops of Army Headquarters Garrison on official duty escorting ammunitions and missiles from Abuja to Army Central Ammunition Depot in Kaduna State were attacked by some members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) sect at Zuba bridge,  of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at about 3.00pm on Saturday 27th October 2018.

The sect who were supposedly in a procession, established an illegal road block denying motorists free passage. When the troops’ convoy attempted to clear the road block, they met stiff opposition from the sect. Members of the sect  used various objects to barricade the road and also pelted the troops with stones and other dangerous items. They smashed both military and civilian vehicles’ windscreens and windows.

They also attempted to overrun the escorts to cart away the ammunition and missiles the troops were escorting. This led to the troops opening fire to extricate themselves. Consequently, troops of 102 Guards Battalion in whose Area of Responsibility the incident occurred rushed to the convoy’s rescue.

Unfortunately, during the encounter 3 members of the sect were killed while 2 soldiers sustained various degrees of injuries and are being treated at a military medical facility.
Meanwhile, normalcy has been restored in the general area and members of the public especially those plying the Abuja - Zuba Road are requested to go about with their normal activities with the assurance from the NIgerian Army that no individual or persons would be allowed to disturb public peace and unprovoked attacks against military convoys.

You are please requested to disseminate this information to the general public through your medium.
Thank you for your cooperation and please accept my highest esteemed regards.

GANDUJE: We Stand By Our Story - Editor told Kano Lawmakers

Ganduje: What Daily Nigerian publisher told Kano Assembly about bribery videos

Below is his statement:
I, Jaafar Jaafar, a member of the Board of Directors of Penlight Media Limited, the publishers of DAILY NIGERIAN do hereby submit this statement in answer to the invitation extended to me by the Investigation Panel of the Kano State House of Assembly.
Introduction
1. The DAILY NIGERIAN made a series of publications pertaining to the receipt of several videos of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje collecting of bribe/kickbacks from some contractors in Kano State.
2. Consequent upon the publications, we received an invitation dated October 18, 2018, with reference number KNHA/ADM/VOL .I/04 from the Kano State House of Assembly requesting us to appear before it in the conduct of its constitutional functions as contained in Section 129 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
3. The invitation letter also requested that we submit a written statement containing the incidents pertaining to the investigation.
4. Below is the narration of our understanding of the events as it relates to the videos.
The videos
5. More than two years ago, a contractor friend of mine complained to me that the governor had been receiving kickbacks, ranging from 15 to 25 per cent, for every project executed in the state from contractors.
6. We then agreed to plant spy cameras on his kaftan lapel so that he can capture the brazen act in hard evidence. He captured at least 15 clips, nine of which fully showed the governor’s face, body and hands collecting bundles of dollars.
7. Before DAILY NIGERIAN publishes stories, pictures or videos on its website (www.dailynigerian.com), the editors subject them to rigours of verification to establish their authenticity or otherwise.
8. In the case of the video clips in question, our in-house technical expert, the editor-in-chief and editorial adviser certified that the videos were original and not doctored contents.
9. Experts from Amnesty International Nigeria, BBC and PREMIUM TIMES also watched the clips and certified their authenticity before we went to press.
10. The first video was published on October 14, 2018, comprising two clips that occurred on two different dates as shown on the videos themselves. The video showed the governor receiving bribe from a contractor in foreign currency specifically the monies were United States Dollar denominated. The video also showed his Excellency tucking these monies under his flowing gown and putting them inside an envelope.
11. We are willing to share the content of the video without any form of editing to assist the committee in its investigation and to share the full clips of the others that were published to the Committee in the cause of the performance of their legislative function
12. We thank the Committee for deeming it appropriate to invite us to make representations before it in respect of this matter.
13. Thank you.

2019- INEC Should Learn From Okowa - HURIWA

2019: INEC should take tutorials from Gov. Okowa - HURIWA

A notable civil society group, Human Right Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to submit to a compulsory tutorial on how to conduct a free, fair and credible election in 2019.

National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, stated this in Abuja, Monday, while receiving Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Civil Society, Comrade Felix Ofou, who paid the HURIWA boss a courtesy visit in his office.

Comrade Onwubiko observed that the leadership of INEC as presently constituted has failed, and would require tutorials from Dr Okowa, in order to meet the expectations of Nigerians in the forthcoming 2019 elections.

Making reference to what he termed as the obviously below average performances of the electoral body in recent major engagements in Ekiti and Osun, the HURIWA argued that INEC needs to consult the Delta State Governor to learn how to conduct credible and acceptable elections.

Onwubiko poured encomiums on the capacity of Dr Okowa to deliver on free and fair election on the recently conducted presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in which former Vice President; the Alhaji Atiku Abubakar emerged victorious.

“Dr Okowa did a marvelous job out of the highly anticipated Primaries. He did not only make the process to be transparent, but it was seen by all to have been transparently free and fair, more so that at the end, even the losers were happy and are currently working with the person that emerged. I think Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, the INEC National Chairman and his team require some lessons from your governor, if we Nigerians are to expect a free and fair deal in 2019", he declared.

Speaking further, the human right activist further commended Okowa for appointing Ofou, also a renowned journalist and activist, as a Senior Special Assistant on Civil Society and expressed the hope that the Governor would sustain the office even after the 2019 election, when he would have been returned for a deserving second term, while noting that Delta is a very vibrant state, with a huge number of community based organizations.

Speaking earlier, Comrade Ofou, said the visit was to familiarize with HURIWA , as a foremost human rights group and to seek partnerships with other civil society organizations in the country with a view to help provide capacity building for similar groups based in Delta State.

The Governor’s aide noted that Delta State is about the only state in Nigeria to have recognized the civil society for the purpose of effective partnership with government.

He also informed the HURIWA boss that the governor created an enviable standard in Delta, during the last PDP primary election, by not endorsing any candidate for any position, and ensuring that the umpires conducted a free, fair and transparent election in the state, a stand he argued was unprecedented.

The SSA revealed that during the recently concluded PDP presidential primaries, in Port Harcourt, which Okowa supervised, the latter took steps and made several personal sacrifices to ensure that the process was credible, one of which was by ensuring that he never interfered with the personal choices of all the over 150 delegates from Delta State, adding that the Governor refused to vote, to show he had no preferred candidate for the position of a presidential candidate.

God Goes Too - Gloria Copeland

God Goes Too!
But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.
– 1 Corinthians 6:17, The Amplified Bible

I once heard about a great man of God who looked in the mirror every day when he put on his suit and said, "Suit, everywhere you go today, God goes in you." And you know, he's right. If you have united yourself to God by receiving Jesus as Lord, everywhere you go today...God goes too!

As believers, we need to start becoming more conscious of that. We need to train ourselves to be constantly aware of God inside of us, talking to us, teaching us, counseling us, empowering us and enduing us with Himself.

We need to continually remind ourselves that we are one spirit with Him. That means that every time we face a problem, every time we face an evil spirit that tries to influence and hinder our lives, God is facing it too. When we meet those things, God meets them. And He's already overcome them!

Let me encourage you when you get dressed today to look in the mirror and say, "I am united to the Lord and I have become one spirit with Him. Body, everywhere you go today...God goes. God is in you. The power of God is in you. The wisdom of God is in you. The victory of God is in you."

Say that to yourself every day—many times a day. Keep doing it until you begin to develop the habit of thinking that way. Cultivate a constant awareness of the reality of God living in you!

PDP Faults Syndicated Presidential Campaign Council List

Press Statement

PDP Yet To Name Further Members of Presidential Campaign Council

The attention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been drawn to a phony post circulating in the social media and purporting that the PDP has released further names to make up its 2019 Presidential Campaign Council.

The fabricators of the post even went further to allocate offices to certain individuals, claiming same to be officially assigned by the leadership of our great party.

For the avoidance of doubt, the PDP has not released any further names other than those earlier released as members of the Presidential Campaign Council.

Currently, the only names and offices assigned and released by the party are those of the Director-General and Zonal Coordinators of the 2019 Presidential campaign as follows:

1. H.E Dr. Bukola Saraki – Director-General
2. H.E Aminu Waziri Tambuwal - Zonal Coordinator, North West.
3. H.E Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo - Zonal Coordinator, North East
4. H.E. Dr. Samuel Ortom - Zonal Coordinator, North Central.
5. H.E Nyesom Wike - Zonal Coordinator South South
6. H.E Ayodele Fayose - Zonal Coordinator, South West
7. H.E Engr. Dave Umahi - Zonal Coordinator South East.
8. H.E Kabiru Tanimu Turaki SAN- Chairman, Legal Matters
9. H.E. Emmanuel Udom - Chairman, Fund Raising Committee

The PDP cautions that any other names being bandied around and purported to have emanated from the party should be discountenanced accordingly.

The party therefore urges all members to remain calm and await further announcement by the National Working Committee on the composition of the Campaign Council in due course.

Jesus: The Will of God in Action

October 20, 2018

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
(John 6:38)

Remember, the Lord Jesus Christ came on the scene to unveil the Father to us. Everything that Jesus did was the will of God. Well, what did He do?

Among other things, He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). Not one single time did someone come to Jesus for healing and Jesus say to them, "It's not your Father's will to heal you."

In John chapter 14, Philip said to Jesus, "Show us the Father." And Jesus said, "Philip, have I been so long with you and have you not known Me? He that has seen Me has seen the Father."

If you want to see God at work, look at Jesus. If you want to hear God talking, listen to Jesus. He is the express will and purpose of God. And in His earthly ministry, Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.

Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." He was the Healer yesterday. Has He abandoned His office of the Healer today? No! Thank God, He hasn't, because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever!

Confession

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus is the Healer today. I believe that in my heart. Because I believe that in my heart, I accept Him as my Healer. I acknowledge Him as my Healer.

EXERCISE YOUR FAITH - Faith Food Devotional

Faith Food Devotional

Exercise

October 20, 2018

"...According to your faith be it unto you" (Matt 9:29).

If you eat natural food regularly and get no exercise, you'll grow fat and flabby. Likewise, if you don't exercise your faith, your faith muscles will be flabby.

Exercise your faith on the level where you are. Some Christians are beyond others in the development of their faith. As you feed and exercise your faith, it will grow. Remember, no one climbs a ladder by starting on the top rung!

Some people have become defeated because they tried to believe beyond their level of faith. They heard faith taught, and they tried to start at the top of the ladder. Because their faith wasn't at that level, faith didn't work for them, and they said, That faith business doesn't work. I tried it, but it doesn't work.

Faith will work for you as you exercise it. After awhile you'll be able to believe God for things you never dreamed you could. According to your faith be it unto you. If your request is based on God's Word, and you believe God to do it, God will do it.

Wherever you are in faith, keep your attitude right. Keep a positive attitude, and keep the switch of faith turned on. Keep believing God and using your faith.

Confession: According to my faith be it unto me. I am using my faith today. I am exercising my faith. I am putting my faith into practice. I see to it that my faith is always at work!

Living the Love Life - Copeland

Living the Love Life
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
– John 15:13

We often think of "laying down your life" for someone else in terms of dying. That's what Jesus did. He loved us so much He laid down His life by dying in our place so that we could live.

But now, He's asked us to lay down our lives in a different way. He's asked us to show our love, not by dying for others, but by living for them.

Exactly what does that mean?

Sometimes it means giving our lives by spending time in prayer for someone. Other times it means giving of ourselves with love and understanding. Many times it means laying down our own selfish desires in order to meet the needs of another.

Romans 15:1 puts it this way, "We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves."

When you lay down your life, you live to please God instead of yourself. You let your life be guided by His love. If love leads you to the person next door, you follow. When love calls you to intercede for someone in need, you yield.

Commit yourself today to lay down your own life—and take up the love life. Say:

"Father, in Jesus' Name, I see from Your Word that You were willing to give of Yourself, in the person of Your Son, for all men. I understand that because Jesus is Lord of my life, I, too, am called to give myself to others. I choose to accept that calling today.

"I'll give of my time. I'll give of Your love in me. I'll be strong and lift up those who are weak. I'm willing to be available to be used of You so that those around me might experience the abundant life You have provided.

"You have loved me, Lord, with the greatest love there is. I count it a privilege now to share that love with others. I thank You for it in Jesus' Name. Amen."

Behold the Glory of Jesus In You - Pastor Prince

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18
- OCTOBER 17 -
BEHOLD THE GLORY OF JESUS IN YOU
When you look in a mirror, what do you see? Of course, you see yourself. But God does not want you to see yourself in the natural. You may be sick, weak, broke and depressed, yet God wants you to see yourself the way He sees you—healed, strong, favored and whole because Christ is in you (see Colossians 1:27).

God wants you to behold as in a mirror the glory of His Son who is in you by His Spirit. As you do this, His Word says that you are being transformed from glory to glory—sick to healed, loser to winner!

The world may say to you, “It can’t be that easy. You can’t be transformed just by beholding the glory of Jesus. No, you must do something about you. If you don’t put in effort, nothing will happen. If you don’t start making changes, nothing will change.”

But the world will never understand that as you are beholding the glory of the Lord, who is the successful one in you, you are being transformed from a failure to a success. And this is not accomplished by any effort of yours to get ahead in life, but by the Spirit of the Lord (see Zechariah 4:6)!

As you behold the glory of the Lord who is the healthy one in your sick body, you are transformed from sickness to health. And this is not accomplished by any effort of yours to keep fit and eat well, but by the Spirit of the Lord!

My friend, what can be easier than beholding the beauty of the Son? So stop focusing on yourself and your efforts. Look away from these things and begin to behold the glory of Jesus who is in you right now, and you will begin to behold the miracles that you need!

PRESIDENCY ORDERS EFCC TO DETAIN FAYOSE INDEFINITELY - Fayose

October 15, 2018

Press Statement

Presidency orders EFCC to detain Fayose indefinitely, PDP alleges

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the Presidency has directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to incarcerate, indefinitely, the outgoing governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose.

In a statement issued today in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary, of the PDP, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, said information at the party’s disposal and all over the social media indicate that the Presidency has put the commission on alert to arrest the governor at midnight today and detain him indefinitely.

The alleged directive by the Presidency is not unconnected with the plot to use the EFCC and other security agencies to incarcerate the governor owing to his persistent criticism of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government.

This uncompromising stands of the outgoing governor against the present administration was the reason Ekiti State was invaded and taken by force during the last governorship election.

By 12 midnight, the governor’s residence is expected to be surrounded by armed men of the EFCC under the pretense that they had information of his plot to escape. This is to achieve their plan to humiliate the governor and portray him in bad light to the public by dramatising his arrest.

Nigerians can recall that it was the governor who offered to submit himself to the EFCC despite the commission’s clear display of bias and partisanship as demonstrated in its various actions, especially its tweets and putting the governor on security watch-list.

The EFCC even unprofessionally showed its bias in deriding the governor, making light of a very serious matter by mocking him and asking him to come before his tenure elapsed, which the governor declined in line with the constitutional immunity.

It is now beyond dispute that Governor Fayose is not a scoundrel running away from justice. Whatever the EFCC, APC, and the Presidency’s spin-doctors may say, it is also clear to everyone that Fayose is not a coward; neither is he afraid of the EFCC.

Fayose is prepared and ready to defend himself in the court of law. Neither the Presidency nor EFCC is a court of law. Since the EFCC said it had dusted up Fayose’s files, it should be ready to take him to court once he presents him at the agency’s office on Tuesday.

Governor Fayose has offered to walk to the EFCC office by himself and nothing must happen to him tonight. The PDP condemns this resort to fascism by the APC government, saying the whole world should be at alert to see another demonstration of crude disrespect for the rule of law and rights of Nigerians.

Expect God's Goodness and Anundance - Pastor Prince

Daily Grace Inspiration

You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance.
Psalm 65:11
- OCTOBER 14 -
EXPECT GOD'S GOODNESS AND ABUNDANCE
The economic experts may have painted a gloomy picture for the year, but as far as God is concerned, He has crowned the year with His goodness and abundance! God’s supply and provision are never affected by world events, so good times or bad times, expect every month, every week and every day of this year to be surrounded by His goodness. Expect His abundance to meet your every need!

“But Pastor Prince, I’ve not done much good in the past year, so how can I be confident that God will provide for me this year?”

My friend, God doesn’t bless you because of what you have done. He blesses you because of what Jesus has done. At the cross, Jesus bore all your sins and was punished to the full for every one of them, so that you can have His righteousness as a gift and be blessed with every one of God’s blessings (see Ephesians 1:3).

Now, look at the word “abundance” in Psalm 65:11. It is the Hebrew word deshen, which means “fatness.” The idea here is abundant provision, blessings and even fertility. (So if you have been believing God for a child for many years, believe that this is the year you will conceive!) Now, the word deshen has another meaning—“ashes.” Ash is the final form of something that has been burnt. For example, the animal sacrifices to God in the Old Testament were burnt on the altar until they became ashes (see Leviticus 4:12). So ashes here speak of the finished work of Jesus at the cross that has put away your sins.

My friend, because of Jesus’ finished work you can confidently believe and declare that the year is crowned with goodness and that God’s paths drip with His provision, blessings and good success for you every step of the way. If the devil tells you that God won’t bless you because of your sins, just tell him, “Ashes!” and point him to the cross of Jesus!

Beloved, you are blessed not because of your good works, good looks, qualifications or industry experience, but because of Jesus’ finished work. He alone has qualified you to receive God’s goodness and abundance every day for the rest of your life!

That Glorious Name - Copeland

That Glorious Name
And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you may ask in My name [as presenting all that I AM,] so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.
– John 14:13, The Amplified Bible

In Jesus' Name. It's more than a phrase we tack onto the end of our prayers. All that God is and does is represented in the Name of Jesus. The Amplified Bible says when you ask in His Name, you present your requests to the Father on the basis of all that Jesus is. So you can boldly expect to have those requests granted—not because you're worthy, but because He is!

What's more, the Name of Jesus carries authority over all other names. In Philippians 2:5-11, the Apostle Paul tells us, "God also hath highly exalted him [Jesus], and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth."

In spite of all the Word of God has to say about the power of the Name of Jesus, most believers don't seem to put much stock in it. They'll pray in the Name of Jesus, then turn right around and say, "I sure hope God answers that prayer." They don't realize that if they only had the faith to believe it, Jesus' Name alone carries enough clout to guarantee their prayers will be answered.

They even let religious slang rob them of the power of using that Name. I've heard many a well-meaning believer end his prayer with the phrase, "For Jesus' sake." But Jesus didn't say to pray for His sake. He said to pray in His Name.

I used to make that mistake myself. One night I was praying because I was suffering from a stomachache. "Oh, for Jesus' sake," I prayed, "heal my stomach."

After I'd said that a few times, the Lord spoke up on the inside of me. Wait a minute, He said, whose stomach is hurting here, Mine or yours?

"Mine!" I answered.

Then He very plainly said, In that case, pray for your stomach's sake, in My Name!

Jesus' Name. Dig in to the Word and find out just how much power and authority it really carries. Then use that power every time you pray. Stop hoping God will answer and start expecting Him to cause every circumstance in your life to bow its knee in honor of that glorious Name!

Christ Is Our Mercy City - Pastor Prince

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1
- OCTOBER 13 -
CHRIST IS OUR MERCY SEAT
In the Old Testament, there was a place where God met with His people. In Exodus 25:22, God said, “And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony...” This place was above the mercy seat of the ark of the covenant, under the wings of the two cherubim. The psalmist calls it “the secret place of the Most High…under the shadow of the Almighty.”

The mercy seat covered the ark which contained the three emblems of man’s rebellion: the golden pot of manna—man’s rebellion against God’s provision, two tablets of stone on which God wrote the Ten Commandments—man’s rebellion against God’s standard, and Aaron’s rod—man’s rebellion against God’s authority. Once a year on the Day of Atonement, the high priest would sprinkle the blood of the sacrificed animal on the mercy seat and so make propitiation for the sins of Israel.

Today, it is not the blood of animals that makes propitiation for our sins, but the holy blood of the Son of God (see Romans 3:24–25). The word for “propitiation” in the original Greek text is hilasterion, which actually means “mercy seat.” So Christ is our mercy seat. His blood speaks for us and puts God on our side. God does not see our rebellion. He sees the blood of His Son and accepts us!

That is why we can come boldly to the secret place of the Most High, in Christ, and feel secure that we have every right to be in God’s presence. We can come boldly to Him to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (see Hebrews 4:16).

And because Christ, our mercy seat, covers us with His blood, we are under God’s protection. We are in the secret place of the Most High, abiding under the shadow of the Almighty. Here, no evil will befall us, nor will any plague come near our dwelling (see Psalm 91:9–10). In the secret place of the Most High, we are favored and kept safe from all harm!

JESUS IS YOUR QUALIFICATION FOR GOD'S BLESSINGS - Pastor Prince

And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you…
Deuteronomy 28:2
- OCTOBER 11 -
JESUS IS YOUR QUALIFICATION FOR GOD’S BLESSINGS
God loves to bless you. He has even declared that “blessings shall come upon you and overtake you.” This means that you can’t run fast enough to escape them! When you turn one corner, there is a blessing waiting for you. When you turn another corner, you run smack into another blessing!

Now, you may think that you don’t qualify for God’s blessings because of the preceding verse which says that these blessings will come to pass only if you diligently obey God’s voice and keep all of His commandments. You know that no matter how hard you try, you just cannot keep all of God’s commandments. In fact, the Bible says that if you fail to keep just one commandment, you fail to keep all (see James 2:10).

My friend, I have good news for you: Jesus is the one who qualifies us for every single blessing because He has kept all of God’s commandments. When He died for us on the cross, He not only fulfilled all of God’s commandments, He also redeemed us from the curse of the law (see Galatians 3:13). Note that He did not redeem us from the blessings of the law, so the blessings are still ours today!

As you read the list of blessings in Deuteronomy 28, starting with “Blessed shall you be in the city…in the country…the fruit of your body…your basket…when you come in…when you go out…” (Deuteronomy 28:3–13), I believe that Jesus is saying to you, “Like the blessings? Then take them by faith!”

You may say, “But I don’t deserve them.” Yes, you don’t deserve them, but you still get them because of Jesus. That is God’s grace! The law says, “You must deserve the blessings.” But the law is no longer here. Grace is here. So take the blessings by grace through faith. Believe God for the blessings.

Today, it is no longer a question of how much or how well you have kept God’s commandments. It is a question of how much you can believe God for His blessings. All the promises of God in Christ are “Yes,” and because you are in Christ, you can say “Amen!” to His blessings (see 2 Corinthians 1:20)!

Prepare for Persecution - Copeland

Prepare for Persecution
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
– 2 Timothy 3:12

Did you catch that? He said all who live godly lives are going to suffer persecution. Not just the super-saints, not just the missionaries in hostile lands—but all.

If you're going to live for God, you're going to run into persecution somewhere along the line. The devil's going to make sure of it!

Now I'm not saying that to frighten you or to depress you. I'm saying it because I want you to be prepared.

When you're wise to the strategies of the devil, it's harder for him to use them successfully on you to confuse you and get you off track.

Second Corinthians 10:4 says, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds." So stay armed and ready for Satan's attack. Then, whenever and however it comes, it won't bring your life to a halt or even slow you down.

That's especially important right now because we're living in the last days. The devil's time is drawing short. He is desperate. He is going to do everything he can to stop the Church. But Jesus said the gates of hell would not prevail against His Church!

Remember the more we grow to be like Jesus and the more God's glory is revealed through our lives, the bigger threat we are to Satan's kingdom. Jesus said, "Rejoice and be glad at such a time, and exult and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is rich and great and strong and intense and abundant in heaven" (Luke 6:23, The Amplified Bible).

So, when persecution comes your way, and you know it will, rejoice and be glad. Take the Jesus cure and begin to leap and jump and praise God! There is no way persecution will hurt you if you do that. I've tried it and it works.

Lai Mohammed is Obsessed with Deception - Fani-Kayode

"Atiku's choice is a return to a sordid corruption-laden era"- Lai Mohammed, Hon. Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism.

The Archangel of Liars has told yet another lie.

When will this compulsive and sociopathic deceiver stop peddling lies and spreading falsehood?

When will this ugly and mendacious little creature rid itself of its obsession with deception, deceit and double-speak?

When will this two-bit, cheap and unlettered Goebellian propagandist be delivered from the lying spirit that leads, guides, propels and controls his every thought, word and deed?

When will this horrendous and godless accuser of the bretheren desist from indulging in kindergarten fairytales and puerile fantasies.

The Holy Bible describes satan as being 'the father of lies" and says he was "a liar and a murderer from the start'.

The author of those words must have had lying Lai Mohammed on his mind when he wrote them"- Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.

LIVE FREE FROM FEAR - Copeland

Live Free From Fear
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
– Psalm 91:1-3

Is it possible to live free from fear in this dangerous and unpredictable world? Yes, it most definitely is! Because protection is a solid promise of God.

But it's not a promise that's offered to just anyone. It is promised to those who abide in the Lord. To abide means "to dwell, to remain and to continue." To abide in the shadow of the Almighty is to live in continual union with Him, keeping His Word and obeying His voice. Those who abide in the Lord can live without dread of what the devil will do.

Let me make this clear though—God's promise of protection doesn't guarantee that the devil will leave you alone! It means that God will give you a way of escape every time the devil rears his ugly face at you.

If you are afraid of the dangers around you, spend more time in the Word and in prayer until your trust in God overcomes your fear. Draw closer to the Lord until you are abiding in the shadow of the Almighty and—no matter how dangerous this world becomes—He shall surely deliver you.

YOUR FIRST AND HIGHEST CALLING - Copeland

Your First and Highest Calling
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
– 1 Corinthians 1:9

Do you know what God wants you to do more than anything else today? He wants you to fellowship with Him.

He wants you to walk with Him and talk with Him. To discuss the things of life with Him. He wants you to draw near to Him and partake of His very nature.

So many of us get so caught up in striving to please God in the things we do that we forget our first and highest calling is just to be in fellowship with Him.

That's right. God longs for us just to want to be with Him.

Have you ever considered how much it would mean for you to just come to God and say, "Father, I didn't really come today to get anything. I've prayed about my needs already and Your Word says they're met according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. So I just came to be with You. If You have anything You'd like to tell me, I'm ready to listen...and I want You to know that whatever I see in Your Word, I'll do it. I'll put it into effect in my life."

Why don't you tell that to God today? He's waiting to have fellowship with you.

LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON - Joseph Prince

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Romans 8:16
- OCTOBER 9 -
LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON
Everything produces after its kind. Dogs give birth to puppies, cats give birth to kittens and tigers give birth to tiger cubs. In the same manner, when you are born again, you are born of God. You are a child of the Most High God. He is your Father and He doesn’t see you in the flesh. He sees you in the Spirit. And His Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are His child.

So when the devil comes to you and says, “Well, your father died of cancer, his father died of cancer and you are going to die of cancer too, just like your father,” just know in your heart that you are like your Father—your Father in heaven! Declare, “I am a child of the Most High God. He doesn’t have cancer, so neither do I!”

My friend, when you are born of God, you are born to win. Because your Daddy God is a winner, you are one too! When you wake up in the morning, say, “I am a winner because God is a winner!”

When you say that you cannot afford to buy something that you need, you have forgotten which family you now belong to. You have been born again into a very rich family—your Father owns every beast in the forest and the cattle on a thousand hills (see Psalm 50:10)! You have a Daddy God in heaven who is well able to supply all your needs (see Philippians 4:19). Even if there are areas of lack in your life now, don’t worry. Just ask God for the supply because your heavenly Father loves you and wants to supply your needs.

When someone talks to you about a problem and asks, “What are we going to do about it?” you should say, “Don’t worry. Let’s talk to Daddy God about it. It is not a problem for Him, so it will not be a problem for us.”

Beloved, even when all around you is going under, your Daddy God is still the same heavenly Father who kept Noah’s world afloat, his loved ones safe and sound, and his possessions intact. Your world will never go under because you are God’s beloved child!

Your Media Aide, Onochie, Is Misguided, Prodigal - CAN tells Buhari

Buhari’s Aide, Onochie, Is Misguided, Prodigal Child – CAN North.
Our attention has been drawn to a terrifying misguided outburst of the Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, against the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). Since this is the second time this low character would be attacking CAN Leadership over its position against the unconstitutionality of the Federal Government, we are convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that she is under instruction to insult the leadership of CAN.
We would have ignored this attention-seeking presidential aide that has gone demented in her attempt to denigrate religious leaders who are doing everything to ensure peace amongst our people across religious divide but the need to set the record straight. Onochie’s misadventure into the corridors of power brings to mind the parable of the prodigal son in the Bible. It is the desire of every parent to have a well-nurtured child, but when a child is arrogant, blind and misguided, such a child can then end up in destruction.
Onochie is not only a liar but a misguided person. Her open letter to the CAN President, Rev Dr Supo Ayokunle, and associating him with Satan only confirms who she is. Unknowingly to the likes of Onochie and those who have sent her, Dr Ayokunle is raising a high standard of integrity in CAN to the shame of detractors. That is why those false accusations against him can’t stand.
She centred her letter on the CAN President who has not left any stone unturned to condemn the lopsided appointments by her principal. Fortunately and coincidentally, her so-called open letter came out on the same day, a well-respected newspaper in the country, The Guardian, in its editorial added voice to national concern over President Buhari’s nepotism. Will Onochie also accuse the Newspaper and others, like The PUNCH (August 1, 2016 on ‘Buhari’s Lopsided Appointments’) of being bought by the CAN President? Every right-thinking Nigerian knows that something is fundamentally wrong with many of the appointments by President Buhari. However, since she and her co- travellers in this journey of blindness cannot see; they will be misguided to insult everyone, including their parents, for pecuniary interest from a temporal office.
Let us put the record straight here that in 2012, CAN was the first group that publicly asked former President Goodluck Jonathan to resign if he could not govern Nigeria well. So, CAN telling any sitting government that things are wrong is not new for lovers of truth, but for cheap and ignorant people like Onochie, Nigerians should expect nothing than what she wrote in her basket of lies letter. We advise her to check the history of the country and the activities of the Association since its emergence.
Even when the country was under the jackboots of the military, CAN kept the military dictators on their toes as the voice of the voiceless. As the Prophet to the nation, the CAN President will not shirk his divine responsibilities because of presidential bootlickers and cronies who, by mistake, find their ways into the corridors of power. Quoting the Bible copiously doesn’t help Onochie and her pay masters because even Satan does not only present self as an angel, but once quoted the Scripture while tempting the Lord Jesus Christ. Great prophets in the Scripture spoke the mind of God to powers, irrespective of the wickedness and misuse of power by tyrants and the CAN President cannot but follow their footsteps when the need arises.
We are shocked and appalled at Onochie’s claim that appointments made so far by President Buhari have been based on merit. Please confess who has bewitched you? Has your boss not thrown away merit for nepotism? Nigerians are not fools and can no longer be misguided by despicable characters who have strayed into the corridors of power. It is not only foolishness but evil for a child to say his parents don’t love him just because they advise him not to consume poison. If you really love and know Jesus, your role as an aide to President Buhari will be to tell him the honest feelings of Nigerians. But since you are lost as the prodigal child, you display arrogance and tell lies in order to keep your temporary portfolio.
We are insisting that President Buhari should stop turning deaf ear to the voice of wisdom and give Nigerians a sense of belonging, irrespective of their religious, ethnic and political affiliations.

LEAVE FOOLISHNESS BEHIND - Copeland

Leave Foolishness Behind
Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.
– Proverbs 13:21

Satan has had us in a poverty mentality so long that it's tough for us to grasp just how intensely God really does desire to prosper us—even though He's demonstrated that desire again and again.

Take Abraham, for example. God made him an extremely wealthy man. Genesis 13:2 says he was rich in cattle, in silver and in gold.

Then, of course, there was Solomon. The Bible says he surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

God's servant Job possessed such great wealth that he was called the greatest of all the men of the East. That was before Satan put him through the wringer. Afterward, God blessed him with more than twice what Satan had stolen.

The problem is, just the thought of the kind of wealth God gave to those men scares most believers today. They're afraid it would destroy them.

God has said that "the prosperity of fools shall destroy them" (Proverbs 1:32).

But that doesn't mean you should avoid being prosperous. It means you should avoid being a fool!

I challenge you, this week, to go to the book of Proverbs and find out for yourself what God says about the characteristics of a fool. Let the Holy Spirit search your heart. If you see ways in which you've been a fool, repent and make a firm decision not to be caught in that trap again.

Let the Word of God inspire you to leave foolishness behind and stir within you the faith to reach out and receive what you, as a redeemed child of the living God, have a divine right to—not the curse of poverty, but the blessing of prosperity!

GOD IS BEHIND YOUR INCREASE - Pastor Prince

Daily Grace Inspiration

So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
1 Corinthians 3:7
- OCTOBER 7 -
GOD IS BEHIND YOUR INCREASE
Sometimes, we think that the increase or success which we enjoy is the result of our own efforts or hard work. Now, I am not advocating laziness, but the truth is that God is the one behind our increase.

We see this truth when we read the story of Ruth, a young widow from Moab, who worked as a gleaner in a barley field from morning till evening. Now, we could attribute the entire ephah—a substantial 10-day supply—of barley she collected at the end of the day to her hard work. After all, she did work all day in the field.

But when we read about how Boaz, the owner of the field, had secretly told his reapers to “let grain from the bundles fall purposely for her; leave it that she may glean” (Ruth 2:16), we know that it was because of Boaz’s intervention that Ruth ended up with so much.

I believe that Jesus, our heavenly Boaz, does the same thing for us today. He causes people to favor us and “drop” blessings on us because He loves us. Then, He causes us to “pick up” these blessings. Often, it happens so seemingly naturally we forget that it is the Lord who has blessed us with the increases.

A church member who runs a florist business shared that once, God caused someone who needed a lot of flowers to “drop” a huge order with her. She also shared that she was hardly making any money even though she had been working hard for many years. But when she became a Christian after coming to our church, she began to confess every day that God’s favor was on her. Within a few weeks, that big order worth S$14,000 came in. Only God could have given her such a supernatural increase.

My friend, your hard work is not behind your increase. The Bible tells us that it is “God who gives the increase.” He is the one who is behind your increase and He delights in blessing you because He loves you!

Text of President Jonathan' Speech at PDP Convention

HE Goodluck Ebele Jonathan‬

The greatest problem in Nigeria today is unity.

All of them are well known to me.  The 12 of them are eminently qualify that all of them  are qualify to lead this country.  I have known them and worked with them since 1998. But only one will win.

But I can say we should give it to a person that will keep the country together first.  When we are united then other things can follow.

I see PDP as opposition but not just opposition but a growing PDP we have the Senate President and The Speaker of the House.  The no of Governor's had increased. This is great achievement. I am sure the next president is among the 12 aspirant to unify the country.

God bless you  all.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Chairman and members of the Convention Committee for planning and conducting this convention. The same appreciation goes to the chairmen of National and State Executive Committees of our party. Thank you very much for doing a difficult job well.

2. I would like to pay tribute to Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande the first chairman of our great Party and to Chief John Oyegun who led the party until this year and all the APC Governors.

3. The result of the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress this time is different because I am the only candidate. I thank all other eligible candidates who deferred to me in the interest of our party unity and over-all national stability.

4. Fellow party members, it is with a deep sense of humility that I stand before you today to accept the nomination of our party, the All Progressives Congress to be its candidate and flag-bearer in the 2019 presidential elections.

5. As I stand today before you, there is no honour greater than the confidence given to me by all of you when you affirmed my nomination. I thank you for your support. I thank you for your guidance. I thank you for staying committed to the CHANGE agenda.

6. I accept this honour as a tribute and mark of confidence to carry the responsibility as we all join hands to continue the good work of the APC government to 2023 and beyond.

7. We are very proud of our record from 2015 to date:

a. We have arrested and checked the slide to anarchy on the security and economic fronts.

b. Boko Haram is reduced to dastardly attacks on soft targets. Normalcy has returned to much of North East and neighbouring North West states.

c. Our currency has stabilised. Our reserves are now $44 billion, a lot higher than we had in 2015.

d. Power generation capacity has reached 8,000 megawatts against less than 4,600 when we came into office. As we invest in new power generation infrastructure we are strenuously working to address the legacy deficiencies and challenges of transmission and distribution networks across the country.

e. We are executing Independent Power Projects in 9 Federal Universities to deliver uninterrupted power supply and we intend to expand to a total of 37 Universities

f. We have revived most of our capacity to produce fertilisers locally.

g. The Government through its Anchor Borrowers Programme and other incentives has empowered more than 2 million farmers to go back to the land.  We now produce 80% of our rice requirements. Many farmers who nearly lost hope are now millionaires.

h. We have introduced primary school feeding programmes to encourage attendance and enrolment. We also have introduced the conditional cash transfer to help small and medium businesses, the men, the women and young people who drive our economy.

i. We have repaired and are repairing major arterial roads and starting major railway projects with the aim of linking the 36 states with efficient road and rail transportation systems.

j. We are attacking corruption head-on. With international support we are recovering Nigerian stolen assets and applying them to infrastructural developments.

k. Today the corrupt are facing the wrath of law and leakages have been generally blocked.

Mr. Chairman, Your Excellencies, Members of the APC.

8. We can be proud of our achievements. CHANGE has come. Ladies and Gentlemen, fellow Nigerians, think how much PDP Governments earned between 1999 to 2015. Think what they did with it.
a. Infrastructure down!

b. Security down! 18 local governments of Nigeria under control of a hostile army of insurgents,

c. Reserves depleted!

d. Bankruptcy around the corner.

9.What did they do with your money?

10. Internationally,Nigeria is now respected. My inter-action with foreign heads of state and government has been very encouraging. The international community is very supportive of our efforts to put our country in order.

11. Ladies and gentlemen, Members of APC. I thank you deeply for your support and confidence in me. I will not let you or the people of Nigeria down.

On to victory in 2019!
Long live APC!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Thank you and God bless you all.

SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER AND KEEPING THE FAITH - Fani- Kayode

SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER AND KEEPING THE FAITH

My paternal great grandfather (my grandfather's father), Rev. Emmanuel Adelabi Kayode, was an Anglican priest. He was educated by the Christian missionaries and the Anglican Church and he studied theology at Fourah Bay College in Freetown, Sierra Leonne which was at that time a satellite campus of the United Kingdom's Universty of Durham. In 1892 he graduated with honors with a Master of Arts degree in theology.

He was the first Anglican priest to introduce Christianity to the ancient town of Ile-Ife in the Osun province of the western region of the old Southern Protectorate of Nigeria and he was the first to build and Pastor a Church there.

He pastored the Church in Ile-Ife for many years before he was later transferred to Ondo province to head another branch of the Anglican Church for a further 16 years. After that he was posted to Ijebu province where he headed the local branch of the Anglican Church until he went into retirement in the old Lagos colony.

He was a deeply courageous man who loved the Lord passionately, who was totally dedicated and committed to the spreading of the gospel, who served the Church all his life and who was a great, powerful and fiery orator and preacher.

My second paternal great grandfather was
Rev. Joseph Suberu Fanimokun. He was my grandmother's father. He was also educated by the Anglican Church and he also graduated with honors in 1892 from Fourah Bay College in Freetown, Sierra Leonne.

He was also later ordained as an Anglican priest. He was appointed Principal of the famous Christian Mission Society (CMS) Grammar School in the Lagos colony in 1896 and he remained principal until 1914. CMS Grammar School is the first and oldest secondry school in Nigeria.

These facts, coupled with the fact that I am a devout and practising Evangelical/Pentecostal Christian, are a  pointer to my rich Christian heritage and I am very proud of that.

It is precisely because of that heritage that I have profound respect for the Body of Christ and that I revere all genuine men and women of God.

I have the deepest affection for each of them even where and when I do not totally agree with all their views, actions and submissions.

Yet despite that once in a while that affection is put to the test and my patience and good faith is exhausted.

The picture below provides a good example of this. Frankly it is difficult for me to fathom or fully comprehend what is going on there.

I see the much-loved and highly respected Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi of Deeper Life (one of the greatest Churches on the African continent and a pioneer Church within the Pentecostal denomination in Nigeria) and his wife felicitating with a man under whose watch more innocent and defenceless Nigerians, and particularly Christians, have been slaughtered than any other in the history of our country.

So much innocent blood has flowed under Buhari yet Pastor Kumuyi is still comfortable with smiling and shaking hands with him and neither has he said one word publicly about Leah Sharibu.

I and many others are saddened by this. This is all the more so because I happen to love Pastor Kumuyi and the Deeper Life Church. I always have and I always will.

Yet sadly I also feel a deep sense of shame and outrage about this outing. This is especially so when it has been reported by the media that he told the President that under his leadership "Nigeria is safe".

Is this the same Nigeria that President Donald Trump of the United States of America was constrained to tell its leader pointedly and publicly that "the killing of Christians must stop?"

Is this the same Nigeria that Vice President Pence and senior members of the American House of Representatives described as "the most dangerous place in the world for Christians to live?"

Is this the same Nigeria where Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen thrive and and in which a courageous young Christian school girl from Dapchi was not released by her terrorist Boko Haram abductors simply because she has refused to renounce her faith?

Is this the same Nigeria where thousands of Christians have been butchered in their homes, hundreds of Christian clerics slaughtered whilst preaching and thousands of Christian communities and Churches burnt to the ground in the last 3 years and six months?

For how long must a few of  our clerics embarass the Body of Christ and Christendom by bowing before our oppressors and encouraging them to continously torment, afflict and terrorise our people.

Pastor Kumuyi's photoshoot with Buhari reminds me of the famous picture of Pope Pius X11 shaking hands with and commending Adolf Hitler during the course of World War 11. The Catholic Church never lived it down and was compelled to tender a public apology for this grave error almost 50 years later.

Let us hope that one day every man and woman of God, whether he or she be a Pastor, Bishop, General Overseer or Archbishop, that has in any way supported, encouraged, applauded or colluded with the evil tyrant that has afflicted, scourged and plagued our land and our people over the last 3 years and six months will find the decency and courage to apologise for it.

Let us hope that more of our clerics can find the courage of the late Bishop Ajayi Crowther, the late Apostle Ayo Babalola, the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, the late Rev. Musa Asake, the late Rev. Jolly Tanko Yusus, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Bishop Emmanuel Bolanle Gbonigi, Bishop Jasper Akinola, Prelate Sunday Mbang, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor David Ibiyomi, Dr. Paul Eneche, Prophet T.B. Joshua, CAN President Rev. Samson Ayokunle, Pastor Paul Adefarasin. Bishop El Buba, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, Apostle Samson Suleiman, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, Pastor Rhoda Awiliki and so many others.

They and countless other leaders of the clergy from all over the country that have remained true to their calling, stood firm in the face of tyranny, refused to bow to evil, spoken truth to power and stood up against the manifest injustice that has gripped the land are our pride and joy.

Fellowship - Faith Food Devotional

Faith Food Devotional
Fellowship
October 3, 2018

"God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord" (1 Cor. 1:9).

The highest honor God has conferred upon you is to be a joint-fellowshipper with God the Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit in carrying out God's plan for the redemption of the human race.

By virtue of the New Birth, you became related to the Creator of the universe! You became God's child. You have a relationship with Him. But relationship without fellowship is a lifeless thing. It's like marriage without love or fellowship.

Fellowship with God is the mother of faith. And God has called you individually into fellowship with His Son.

Confession: God has called me into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ. I will walk in fellowship and communion with Jesus. I will talk with Jesus. I will work with Jesus. I am a joint-fellowshipper with God the Father, with Jesus Christ, and with the Holy Spirit in carrying out God's great plan of redemption for the human race.

God Is Your Abba, Father - Pastor Prince

Daily Grace Inspiration

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!
Galatians 4:6
- OCTOBER 2 -
GOD IS YOUR ABBA, FATHER
Have you ever realized that God was never known as “Father” until Jesus came to earth and revealed Him as such? In His prayer to His Father, Jesus said, “And I have declared to them Your Name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them” (John 17:26). What name was Jesus referring to? It was the name “Father.” If there was anything close to Jesus’ heart, it was to introduce God as “Father” to us.

In the Bible, Jesus said, “Therefore, do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’…For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things” (Matthew 6:31–32). Once, He said, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7:11).

Jesus wants you to always have this image of God in your mind—that He is your Abba, Father. Why? Because He wants you to know that there is nothing more important or too insignificant for the Father when it comes to His children.

Imagine a father playing with his five-year-old son, when he notices a splinter embedded in his little boy’s thumb. The concerned father asks, “When did you get this?”

“A few days ago,” the boy answers.

“Why didn’t you tell Daddy about it?”

“I thought you were too busy and that I shouldn’t bother you.”

If you were that father, wouldn’t it break your heart to hear your child say this to you?

A splinter in one’s thumb may be a small thing, but there is nothing too small when it concerns your child because if it affects him, it affects you too. Now, no matter how old you are today, you are still God’s child, so don’t think that your problem is too small for God. If it is important to you, it is important to your Father too. Beloved, always remember that He is your Abba, Father!

Why I Support Sanwo-Olu - Lagos Deputy Gov

Idiat Adebule, deputy governor of Lagos state deputy governor, has abandoned Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, for Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the rival of the governor.

The battle for the 2019 ticket of the APC in the state is between Ambode and Sanwo-Olu.

Speaking at ward A and D in Iba local council development area where she participated in the governorship primary of the APC, she announced her endorsement of the candidate chosen by the party.

“The party has chosen a man and it is that man that I will support and follow,”she said.

“I have no doubt that anybody who emerges today as the candidate of the party will have my support. I have no doubt as exhibited by my people today that they are standing with the party’s position on this primary and with that position I stand.

‘’I stand and I choose to stay with my party at this time, my party has spoken and I have no doubt to state that on the position of the party I stand, It is a very clear election as you can see, people are voting in line with the dictates of the party. We have voted for the person who the leaders of the party have chosen. It is an overwhelming experience as you can see it and we will continue to support the party and abide by its rules.”

Sanwo-Olu enjoys the support of key members of the party in the state, including Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the APC.

This is the first time that the deputy governor would comment on the contest between Ambode and Sanwo-Olu.

The 12 Wells and 70 Palm Trees

Daily Grace Inspiration

Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees; so they camped there by the waters.
Exodus 15:27
- SEPTEMBER 30 -
THE 12 WELLS AND 70 PALM TREES
Would you like to know an important biblical key to divine health? It is found in today’s verse, which comes right after God says, “I am the Lord who heals you.” He said this to His people after He brought them out of Egypt (see Exodus 15:26).

The wells of water and palm trees speak of refreshment. They paint a picture of an oasis in the desert. The Israelites rested and were refreshed there. But why the numbers 12 and 70?

There are no insignificant details in the Bible. The 12 wells of water and 70 palm trees represent anointed ministries that refresh you with God’s Word. So if you want to know Jesus as the Lord who heals you, sit under anointed preaching of God’s Word because when His Word goes forth, it will heal you. His Word is medicine to all your flesh (see Proverbs 4:22)!

How did I make that connection? Let the Bible interpret the Bible. Matthew 10:1 says that when Jesus had “called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” He sent out the 12 and said to them, “And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons...” (Matthew 10:7–8).

Then, in Luke 10:1, the Lord “appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.” He also said to the 70, “And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you’” (Luke 10:9).

In other words, Jesus anointed the 12 and then the 70 disciples to preach God’s Word and heal the sick. Today, if you want refreshment, if you want health and healing, don’t sit under ministries that tell you that God doesn’t always want to heal and that He sometimes gives you diseases to teach you lessons. Instead, sit under anointed ministries that preach the good news and practice healing the sick. My friend, that is how you can begin to walk in divine health!

BLESS THE LORD - Copeland

Bless the Lord
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
– Hebrews 13:15

Great things happen when you continually confess the mercy of God. Faith rises up on the inside of you. The reality that God loves you begins to sing through your spirit.

What's more, it brings honor to your Father when you believe His Word and magnify His love and mercy. You honor Him when you speak of His goodness and lovingkindness, when you talk about Him as your Father of love who does only good. It blesses Him when you praise Him as the great God of the universe who is eager to bless and who even gave His own Son because He so loved the world.

David was a man after God's own heart. He knew how to praise his God. Until you have the Word dwelling in you richly so that you can speak psalms and praises out of your own spirit, use the praises of David to magnify God. Speak them or sing them out loud to the Father.

Put His words continually on your lips. You will soon begin to experience the thrill and the joy of realizing that God is indeed "rich in mercy" because of His great love with which He loved us. Your faith will rise to new heights and your Father will be blessed! And you will be blessed.

OSUN RERUN: NBA Report Indicts INEC, Security Agencies

REPORT OF THE NBA AD-HOC ELECTION WORKING GROUP ON THE RERUN GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION IN OSUN STATE HELD ON THURSDAY, 27 SEPTEMBER 2018

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted the Osun Governorship Election on the 22nd day of September, 2018. The election was declared inconclusive by INEC and a supplementary election was held on the 27th day of September, 2018in seven (7)polling units in four (4) Local Government Areas of the State, namely, Osogbo, Orolu, Ife North and Ife South.
Members of the NBA Election Working Group, who had observed the elections on 22nd September 2018 and had prepared a Report thereon, were deployed to the affected Local Government Areas to observe the supplementary elections.
OBSERVATION REPORTS;
    OSOGBO;
Members of the NBA EWG arrived at Osogbo polling unit 17, ward 5, at about 7:00am. There was massive armed security presence with movement around the polling unit restricted to voters and observers. All the election materials were made available for the election. The electoral protocols for voting were fulfilled by the electoral officers at the unit.
Accreditation and voting commenced at about 8:02am. The voting process went on smoothly till about 11:30am when some hoodlums invaded the area in an attempt to disrupt the process. The situation was brought under control by the security personnel present. In spite of the seeming and subtle form of intimidation, voters were undaunted as they did cast their votes. There was substantial compliance with the election process and procedure at the polling units.
    OROLU:
The team deployed to observe the rerun election at Orolu, Ward 8, polling units 1 and 4 and ward 9, polling unit 3, set out for the assignment at about 6:30am. The team’s enthusiasm was dampened by their harassment and subsequent arrest by mobile policemen en-route Orolu. They were taken before Ali Janga, Commissioner of Police, at a Police Post. CP Ali Janga is in charge of Kogi State Police Command. Incidentally, the Secretary of the NBA ad-hoc EWG, Liman Salihu Esq. the immediate past chairman of the NBA Lokoja Branch, Kogi State, recognized the CP and showed his Identification Card to him but surprisingly the CP ordered that the team be taken to the INEC Office.
At the INEC office, it took one of our own, Festus Okoye Esq. who is currently the INEC Commissioner representing South-East Geopolitical Zone, to secure their release; he also facilitated the team’s movement to Orolu.
The road to Orolu is barely motorable and appears to have been recently graded for the purpose of the election. The location of the polling unit at Ifon Orolu Kajola was in a farm house inside a thick bush and there was only one unoccupied residence with a distance of about 80meters from the said polling unit. The materials for the election arrived on time at the respective units and voting proper commenced at the stipulated time of 8:00am.
There was heavy security presence with about thirty (30) armed Police officials at Orolu. At about 10:00am, while figuring out how to get to Idiya Polling Unit in Orolu, four (4) Toyota Hiace buses packed with about fifty (50) fierce looking men, drove in and the men alighted and walked towards the polling unit without any PVC in their hands.  In spite of the heavy security presence of the Nigerian Police, these men were not stopped nor asked if they were going to vote neither were they asked for their PVCs. This however aroused our suspicion.
A member of the NBA Ad-hoc EWG who attempted a recording of the happenings (a few seconds was recorded though) was almost attacked by about six (6) of these men. Surprisingly the Police officials stood aloof and did nothing to stop the invasion by this group of men. The reason given by the security men (Police officials) for their inaction was that they could not act without formal complaints from us.
Another observation at Orolu was that most of the voters had identification bands on their left arms and ring bands on their thumbs. Those with the said identification bands were allowed access into Orolu while those without the bands were not allowed access and so could not vote. Although these voters without the bands displayed their PVCs to the Police men on ground as evidence that they had been registered to vote at that particular polling unit, the Police personnel adamantly turned them back and as such they could not exercise their right to vote. Voters that were allowed to vote without the bands were those who had arrived earlier before the commencement of voting.
    IFE NORTH;
Election in Ife North was conducted in a village called Oyere. It was deep in a forest barely accessible by vehicle and was about two and half hours from Ile-Ife. There was strong security presence (The Nigerian Police Force) in and around the polling unit. Our representative observed that on his way to the polling unit, officials of the Nigerian Police force barricaded the road alongside some civilians. People were screened before they were allowed to proceed further; some were beaten because they had their phones with them which were seized. Some people were allowed to pass the checkpoint, but some others were turned back.
Although our representative introduced himself to the security personnel, they merely scoffed at him.  Our representative, for safety reasons, had to turn back as he was not given the opportunity to observe the rerun election at the aforementioned polling unit.
    IFE SOUTH:
The polling unit was at Olode, Adereti Village, Ward Code 16, Polling Unit 12, Area Code 07, LGA 07. The polling unit was divided into two polling points (polling unit 12A and 12B). The total number of accredited voters was Eight Hundred and Twelve (812). Materials arrived at about 7:00am and there was proper display of ballot papers. INEC provided the requisite materials for the polling unit and the presiding officer/other Supervisors confirmed they received the full complement of their materials.
The team observed that the armed officials (Nigerian Police, Army, Civil Defense Corps, FRSC, NDLEA) were about 10meters away from the polling booths. Voters turnout was quite impressive in spite of the rain and there was a good sense of gender balance.  Party agents present were the ACD, APGA and APC. There was no representation from the PDP. However, one of the party agents told us in confidence that he had to use another party’s name tag to conceal his identity as a PDP agent.

Voters’ education was duly conducted for voters present. The voting commenced at about 8:00am. The last voter on the queue cast his vote at about 12:05pm. The INEC officials waited till 2:00pm before declaring voting exercise closed. Cancellation of unused ballot papers commenced immediately while sorting of used ballot papers followed suit. Thereafter, vote counting, and announcement of election result was done by the presiding officer. This procedure was done in unit 12A and was repeated in unit 12B.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion the Rerun of the Osun state Gubernatorial Election fell far short of a free and fair election compared to what transpired in the election of the 22ndday of September, 2018 in Osun State which was however declared inconclusive. From the actions and inactions of the Nigerian Police Force they appeared to have been compromised given the fact that the Police did not question the activities of the about fifty (50) fierce-looking men who invaded the area at Orolu.
SUGGESTIONS;
Polling Stations sited in the bush or where less than 20 residential places or houses which are not within a minimum of 50meters radius, should be relocated in future elections. Illustrative example is the above-mentioned polling units at Orolu.
There should be proper sensitization, training and orientation programs for all security personnel deployed for election purpose. A special unit should be established within the security agencies for election purpose and other civil engagements.
