I Will Perform Better If I Won Second Term - Buhari tells Nigerians in the US

2019: I will perform better if I survive another four years – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that he would perform better if given another opportunity in 2019.
Buhari also said he had warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies to ensure that every vote counts in 2019.
He said he instructed them that all Nigerians must be allowed to vote whoever they want without harassment.
NAN reports that’s Buhari spoke on Thursday during an interactive session with a select group of Nigerian professionals based in the United States and Canada.
Buhari said he recognised that Nigerians in the diaspora were talented people and called on them to come to the support of the country, particularly, in education.
The president also said that he was not slow as some people had assumed, saying he was trying to follow the law, especially as democracy is different from military rule.
He recalled that he put people in Kirikiri Maximum Prison in Lagos when he was a military head of state and then ensured they remained in custody until they were able to prove themselves innocent.
Buhari, however, said his administration was making progress but had to go by the law assuring that “if I win the next election and I survive the next four years, I will do better”.
He also recounted his experience in politics saying that he suffered electoral corruption from 2013 when he started contesting for the presidency and had at each point, pursued the case up to the Supreme Court but lost.
“I’m always conscious of the ordinary people because they are the ones that always vote for me. A lot of big men have no time to go and queue on the line for hours.
“There were even pregnant women who were on the line for hours and they delivered. They are my constituencies; they always vote for me,” Buhari said.

For the [true] love of God is this: that we do His commands [keep His ordinances and are mindful of His precepts and teaching]. And these orders of His are not irksome (burdensome, oppressive, or grievous).

1 John 5:3, The Amplified Bible

Do you know why the Word of God and the orders God gives to you in your spirit are not burdensome or oppressive? Because everything He tells you is for your good and for your victory!

God knows what it takes to live in victory in this present evil world. In fact, He’s the only One who knows. The people of this world cannot tell you how to live victoriously. They don’t know how. But God does! He can make things work, even in the middle of darkness, and if we’ll follow His instructions, commands and precepts from His Word, we can, too!

Let me give you an example. One commandment that God gave to us is to love one another and forgive one another as He has forgiven us. This command is not grievous because it’s the key to our freedom. If you can walk in the love that’s been shed abroad in your heart, you’ll have joy every day. But if you don’t walk in this commandment of love, someone will get your joy before lunch! God knows that. So, He made a command of love and forgiveness because love works! Without love, there won’t be any joy, and the joy of the Lord is our strength.

Don’t resent God’s teachings. Don’t consider His ways a burden to your lifestyle. Rejoice over them. Take them gladly by the hand and let them lead you all the way to victory!

The Greater One Within - Faith Food Devotional

The Greater One Within
September 28, 2018

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

It should be common practice for you to say in every crisis of life: "I am a victor. I am more than a conqueror. The Creator dwells in me. The Greater One lives in me. He can put me over. The Greater One will make me a success. I can't fail."

That's not bragging on you; it's bragging on the Greater One who is in you. And it will put Him to work for you!

If you're a born-again, Spirit-filled believer, you have in you, ready for your use, everything you will ever need to put you over. The divine potential of all the power that there is, indwells you!

If you will believe the Bible and begin to confess what it says, the Greater One will rise up in you and give illumination to your mind, direction to your spirit, health to your body, and help in every aspect of life.

Confession: Greater is He who is in me than he that is in the world. The Greater One is greater than the devil, greater than disease, greater than poverty, greater than death, greater than all the power of the enemy. And He lives in me! The Greater One can make me a success. I cannot fail!

OSUN: APC Is Playing With Fire - Fani-Kayode

PRESS STATEMENT ON THE CONDUCT OF THE OSUN STATE ELECTION RERUN.

The police and army prevented PDP agents from watching the polling booths. APC thugs threatened and beat PDP voters. Journalists and election observers were prevented from monitoring and covering the process. Many of them were manhandled and beaten up. The APC openly bribed voters with 100,000 naira each. Is this an election? No sir!

The truth is there was no election in Osun today.
It was violence all through. It was daylight robbery and theft. It was a violation of the dignity, rights and sovereingty of the people of Osun state and Yorubaland.

As a people we have been down this road before in 1964,1983 and 1993 and there were serious and severe consequences. Those that have done this today have refused to learn from the lessons of history and I have little doubt that sooner or later there will once again be grave consequences and they will reap what they have sown.

This is no longer about PDP or APC but about the dignity and liberation of the Yoruba people. Those amongst us that have chosen to collaborate with the barbarians that seek to keep us in slavery and bondage will pay a heavy price.

We are not intimidated. They stole our votes, robbed us of our victory, raped our dignity, rubbished our self-respect and violated our rghts. Many of our people were insulted, intimidated, humiliated, beaten, wounded and maimed and our supporters were chased away from the polling booths by thugs abd security agents.

They subjected us to all this but we remain confident and strong. Our heads have been bloodied but they are not bowed. There will be a day of reckoning for this great evil that has been visited upon our people and that day will soon come. Whatever they do or say we know that God is with us and He will never forsake us.

In the end justice shall be done and the victory shall be ours. Buhari, Tinubu, Oshiomole, Aregbesola and their APC are playing with fire and that fire will soon consumme them.

LIFT SONGS OF PRAISE TO THE LORD - Pastor Prince

Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:17
- SEPTEMBER 26 -
LIFT SONGS OF PRAISE TO THE LORD
God wants us to walk as wise men and women, and not as fools (see Ephesians 5:15). Now, He will not tell us to walk in wisdom without showing us how. That is why His Word goes on to say, “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

So what is the will of God? The next two verses tell us how to identify it: “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord ” (Ephesians 5:18–19).

As you allow yourself to be filled with the Spirit by lifting songs of praise to the Lord, singing or speaking (God knows some of us can’t sing!) psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, and making melody in your heart to the Lord, God promises that you will know what His will is for your situation. You will then have the wisdom to decide wisely what to do next.

I have found this to be true in my own life. Whenever I face a difficult situation, the more I think about it, the more confused I get. The more I try my best to come up with a smart solution, the further the answer seems to get from me. But when I turn away from my problem and turn to God, singing in the Spirit and praising Him, I get a clearer perspective of the problem when I come back to it later. I also find an inner prompting to make certain decisions which in the end, turn out to be better than anything I could have come up with on my own.

So my friend, lift up songs of praise to the Lord, whether times are good or bad. For when you fill your mouth with praises to God, He will lead you and guide you in all the affairs of your life. Even if you are stuck with a problem, He will show you the way to go or make a way out for you. Either way, you will get the wisdom and help that you need!

LET YOUR NEW MAN OUT - Copeland

Let Your New Man Out
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
– Romans 12:1

When you made Jesus Christ Lord of your life, you became what the Bible calls a “new creature.” Inside, you’re not the same person you were before. You have the nature of God born into you. But it’s not enough for you just to have that new nature on the inside. You have to let it take over the outside as well.

Don’t expect that to happen automatically. You have to make a decision to bring your body into obedience to the new man within you. You must determine to do what Romans 6:12 says and “let not sin...reign in your mortal body….”

I know that sounds tough, but remember, you’re not in this alone. You have a Helper inside you to enable you to carry out that decision. His Name is the Holy Spirit. He’s there to strengthen you. He gives you the power to put sin out of your life and under your feet.

Make that decisive dedication of your body today—and let that new man that’s on the inside of you begin to come out!

OSUN DECIDES: MY LIFE IS UNDER THREAT - Adeleke writes UN, others

Osun Polls: Adeleke Writes Diplomatic Missions

...Says My Life is under Threat

Amidst political tension in Osun state, the undeclared winner of last Saturday governorship election,Senator Ademola Adeleke has written a letter to diplomatic missions in Nigeria ,raising alarm over threats to his life and rabid clampdown on his supporters ahead of Thursday supplementary polls.

In the letter already depatched to diplomatic missions ,Adeleke catalogued the many infractions in the last Saturday polls, the refusal of INEC to declare him the winner in line with the constitution, the killing and maiming of his supporters ,the arrest of key leaders on trumped up charges and the manipulations of the electoral process.

"I am constrained to write this letter to intimate you, our diplomatic partners and friends of despotic happenings in Osun governorship polls which I won  but for which I was not declared the winner. My life is under threat and leaders of my party are under siege before and after Saturday main polls.

"During the campaigns ,we were subjected to countless attacks.I escaped about four assassination attempts. Our campaign vehicles were severallly attacked and our rallies disrupted. We went through the pre-election process under constant onslaught from political thugs and merchants of violence.

"Despite the violence prone climate ,I still won the election .On live television ,our votes were removed and protestations for re-addition of the votes were rejected .Votes for the ruling party were jerked up and again the electoral umpire refused to correct the arithmetical errors. After all the manipulations which saw about 4000 votes removed from my total votes ,I still won by close to 400 votes.

"In  a brazen assault on democracy ,the returning officer in open breach of the constitution refused to declare me  the winner even after fulfilling constitutional stipulations. The officer erroneously justified declaration of the election as inconclusive based on violence in seven out of about 3000 voting units across the state. It was a travesty of justice that is under challenge in court of law.

"Not satisfied with that rape of democracy, the ruling, APC immediately launched a coordinated manipulation agenda to rig the Thursday supplementary polls.Voters register of affected areas are been doctored ;unclaimed voters cards are been shared out;massive vote buying are ongoing ;and my supporters are been hounded.Democracy is clearly under threats.

"The agenda of the ruling party is to ensure that votes do not count. The target is to thwart the will of the people. The APC is out to subvert the will of the people ,an action that will have deeply negative impact on the sanctity of the electoral process ahead of 2019 polls",Adeleke said in the letter.

He then called on the international community "to prevail on President Muhammad Buhari to allow votes to count by restoring my mandate",adding "We count on you to mount pressure on the ruling party to restore people's mandate in Osun state .

"We make this request because Osun state is the cradle of Yoruba people.Denying them their inalienable  right to pick their governor  is a potent threat to democratic sustainability in Nigeria. Our nascent democracy has been under intense pressure and it is not in our collective interest to deepen the national stress index.

"We seek your intervention to prevent another rigging underway in Osun state.I am the holder of the sacred mandate of Osun people. We need the international community to assist Nigeria to make votes count",he said.

The letter was sent to European Union,United States and several diplomatic missions in Nigeria and the United Nations.

BREAKING: Omisore Asks Supporters to Vote ...

BREAKING Omisore Speaks On Tomorrow's Re-run

Rerun: My interest is in good governance of Osun State, Omisore says

After over 72 hours of pressure on him by both the leadership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has said that what is paramount to him is the practice of true democracy in Osun State.  Omisore firmly states that he will never renege on his promise of good governance, accountability and human dignity in Osun state.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Omisore said "Osun state has always been a stellar example of democracy where the people have consistently and freely expressed their franchise to determine who governs them. This should remain so. Osun people have shown that it is not business as usual. It is a positive deviation from what was hitherto the norm.
I am telling my people that they should go with any political party that believes in what we in the SDP stand for; good governance, social justice and accountability. I have already detailed how we planned to restore Osun to the path of good governance through the five thematic pillars in the  manifesto I shared  during the electioneering. I will not negotiate for personal gains and abandon my people.
"My alliance is with the people of Osun state irrespective of the political party they belong. I want my people to be treated with the dignity they deserve. I desire that they have a government that will be accountable to them. I want them to experience the good governance the founding fathers of this state envisaged. I have told the parties that have solicited for my support to approach the electorates and ask for their mandate as I have assured them that I will not coerce them for political or social power. It is because I have kept my promise that has made me enjoyed their unalloyed support all these years.
As highlighted in SDP manifestos, the five thematic pillars the SDP had hoped to implement to improve governance, eliminate financial reckless and reposition the economy of Osun state include: Economic management and accountability; Professionalism and performance; Equity in access to service; Local content and innovation and Security.  To this end, he has said to all Nigerians that this is the centre point of his campaign and "democracy we both fought for and believe in. It is the right and democratic freedom of people to choose by their own free will. Their votes should not be coerced by money, vote buying, intimidation in form of militarisation, political and social power.
"Their voices of demand for good governance, accountability and human dignity should continue to be heard as well as salaries paid. All these are what I stand for and which the SDP had promised the people all through our electioneering campaigns.  They are still paramount to me as we collectively chart the way forward for the governorship elections rerun in Osun state."
Senator Omisore assured his followers and admirers that he will not abandon his campaign promises even as he engaged all stakeholders on the way forward to ensure the progress of Osun state is achieved.

MOVE CLOSER EVERY DAY - Copeland

Move Closer Every Day
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
– John 15:5

Abiding in Jesus isn’t something that comes automatically to any believer. It’s a lifestyle that involves discipline and effort.

We have to choose to give ourselves to our union with Him, to give Him first place where our attention is concerned. If we want to grow spiritually, if we want to walk in power and in fellowship with the Lord, we’ll have to spend the time it takes to know Him.

That’s not something we can do for a while and then forget about either. We must continue in it every day. For the moment we stop moving closer to Jesus, we always start drifting away.

You see, here in this natural world you’re surrounded by ungodliness. You live in a body that is totally natural. Unless you purposely counter that with daily prayer and time in the Word, your body and your mind will simply give in to the pressures around you and go the way of the world.

Right now, make a decision to give yourself to the things of God. Focus your attention on the Lord. Surround yourself with His Word. Listen to preaching and teaching tapes while you’re getting dressed, driving to work, preparing dinner, working on your car, exercising, cleaning house and when you go to bed. Listen to the Word of God anytime, anywhere!

Abide in Him today.

Joseph Prince: LET THE LORD BE YOUR DEFENSE

But the Lord has been my defense, and my God the rock of my refuge.
Psalm 94:22
- SEPTEMBER 25 -
LET THE LORD BE YOUR DEFENSE
Imagine being a poor widow, a stranger in the land and holding one of the lowliest jobs in society. That was Ruth’s situation, so it would have been easy for her to feel vulnerable and defenseless. But because she trusted the Lord (see Ruth 1:16), He placed her under Boaz’s protection.

Boaz, the owner of the field she worked in, commanded his young men saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her” (see Ruth 2:15). What he was saying to his men was this: “She might be a gleaner, but because I care for her, treat her with respect and make sure she is not put to shame.”

Boaz is a picture of our Lord Jesus. If you are feeling vulnerable and defenseless right now, imagine Jesus commanding His angels, “Watch over this one who belongs to Me. Make sure he is treated with respect and not put to shame because he is someone I love and someone whom I died for.”

God’s Word tells us that if God is for us, who can be against us? (see Romans 8:31). No one who has set himself against us can prevail because when God is for us, His protection is upon us. That is why I have never answered any of the poison email messages which I have received in the course of my ministry.

My attitude is this: Jesus is my defense. If He does not defend me, it means that there are things in my life that are not to be defended, and I would be glad to find out about them now rather than later. On the other hand, because I take the Lord as my defense, and He defends me, what can those who are against me do to me?

When you defend yourself, you have only your two hands and your own human resources. But when you let Jesus take up your defense, He defends you with His nail-pierced hands and His legions of angels! The results will be amazing.

Beloved, the Lord is your defense and refuge. Trust Him to defend and provide for you!

I Have No Hand In My ADC's Arrest, Detention - Aisha Buhari

I HAVE NO HAND IN MY ADC’S ARREST, DETENTION – AISHA BUHARI
“The attention of wife of the President, Dr. Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has been drawn to some media publications and releases purporting illegal detention of her Aide De Camp (ADC) over allegations of fraud.

“The story as it pertains to her ADC, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Sani Baban-Inna has it that he has been detained on the orders of Her Excellency for dropping her name and defrauding unsuspecting officials and associates. “She wishes to use this opportunity to refute such allegation and to state that she has no hand in his arrest and detention.

“CSP Sani Baban-Inna has been her ADC since 2016 and has been associated with her ever since. To the utter dismay of Her Excellency, he has used the opportunity to defraud unsuspecting associates and officials as initial investigations have shown.”

Justifying that the police acted within its powers, she said, “The Nigeria Police Force, his employers arrested him to investigate the allegations leveled against him, this, being within their jurisdiction.

“She therefore wishes to use this opportunity to inform the general public that she has never sent any of her staff to collect any favours on her behalf or on behalf of her children and will never do so. She is therefore imploring anyone that has been defrauded by Mr. Baban-Inna to get across to him to retrieve whatever he took from them.

Mrs. Buhari wishes to reiterate that she will not condone fraudulent behavior by any of her staff. “She uses this opportunity to call on all those in positions of authority to rise above intimidation by their aides and deal with such attitudes as extortion by name-dropping, especially within the Presidency.

As she always emphasizes, this government was voted into office based on the trust and confidence of the people.”

BREAKING: INEC Diverts Our Votes to APC In Saturday Poll - PDP

BREAKING: Osun 2018: 4,387 Votes Removed From Our Ballots – PDP Alleges INEC.

As varied reactions trailed the declaration of last Saturday’s governorship poll in Osun inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, on Monday night said shocking discovery had indicated no fewer than 4,387 votes were allegedly removed by the electoral body from the total ballots polled by the opposition party.

Addressing a press conference in Ede, the South West zonal secretary of the PDP, Reverend Bunmi Jenyo said thorough investigation has revealed that the PDP was allegedly shortchanged by INEC through the summation of votes in Olorunda and Osogbo local government councils by allotting more votes to the All Progressives Congress (APC) than what the party garnered during the poll.

According to Jenyo, details obtained from Form EC 8C showed that in Olorunda local government, the total votes polled by the APC was 14, 867, while INEC recorded 16,254 votes for the ruling party, indicating that 1,387 additional votes we’re allotted to the APC.

He further alleged that similar scenario played out in Osogbo local government, where the actual votes polled by the APC stood at 21, 479, adding that on contrary INEC recorded 23, 379 votes for the party.

Jenyo, however added that INEC recorded 14, 499 for the PDP instead of 14, 599, just as he said the total votes of the PDP was reduced by 1,000 in Ayedaade local government.

Buhari's Wife, Aisha Accuses Her ADC of Fraud!

AISHA BUHARI ORDERS ARREST OF OWN ADC, ALLEGES N2.5 BILLION FRAUD
A scandal is brewing within the household of President Muhammadu Buhari.

His wife, Aisha, has caused the arrest of her own Aide De Camp, after accusing him of defrauding her, those familiar with the matter have told PREMIUM TIMES.

The president’s wife is alleging that Sani Baba-Inna, a chief superintendent of police, received huge donations from politicians and business people on her behalf and then kept the cash to himself.

Mrs Buhari therefore requested the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to arrest and compel Mr. Baba-Inna to refund the money, put at over N2.5billion.

The police officer was arrested Friday and has remained in detention ever since, with relatives having no access to him, family members say.

It is unclear how the president’s wife came about the allegation, but one source said another aide working for Mrs Buhari originated the claim.

An associate of the embattled police officer said Mr. Baba-Inna strongly denied the allegation, saying he received no donation from anyone on behalf of his boss.

Outcome Of Police Investigation
Immediately the police received the petition from Mrs Buhari, the ADC was arrested on Friday last week and investigation launched.

“The IG said the matter must be investigated immediately and the house of the ADC was raided,” one of our sources said. “Shockingly, investigators only found N1,200 cash in the House. His bank account was also investigated and had only a balance of N30,000 while the transaction records showed that most credits to the account were his salaries and allowances.”

The police, it was gathered, concluded that Mrs Buhari must have been wrongly informed as there was nothing to show or prove that such huge sums of money was in the custody of Mr Baba-Inna.

An associate of Mr. Baba-Inna said the police contacted those named as donors of the controversial funds but that they all denied making the donations attributed to them.

“For instance, one of those named was the IG of Police himself,” the source said. “But the IG said he has never passed any money through Baba-Inna.”

When Mrs Buhari was informed of the outcome of police investigation, the source said the first lady flared up and accused the police of colluding “to protect one of their own”.

She then reportedly asked the State Security Service (SSS) to take over the case and get her money back”.

SSS Wades In?
On the orders of the wife of the president, SSS operatives reportedly took custody of Mr Baba Inna.

However, the spokesperson for the SSS, Peter Afunanya told PREMIUM TIMES he was not aware of Mr Baba-Inna’s arrest by his agency.

“You are just telling me now, I am not aware, but if there is anything like that I will get back to you,” he said.

In the same vein, the spokesperson of the police, Jimoh Moshood, said “I am not aware.”

But Hassana, the wife of Mr Baba-Inna confirmed her husband’s arrest.

She also said she “has not been able to speak with him since he was taken away”.

A GREATER BLESSING IS IN STORE FOR YOU - Pastor Prince

Daily Grace Inspiration

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31
- SEPTEMBER 24 -
A GREATER BLESSING IS IN STORE FOR YOU
Whenever the devil throws something at us, we need not lose hope. In fact, we can be sure that God will turn it around for our greater blessing because He is for us.

When God first made man, He gave man dominion over everything on earth. (Genesis 1:26) But when Adam fell, sin and death entered the world, and man lost his authority to the devil.

So did the devil win? No, God executed His redemption plan by sending His Son Jesus to die for us. And He wants us to know that Jesus’ death did more than just restore us to the same position that Adam had—it placed us in a much higher position!

When the Father raised Jesus from the dead, we who are in Christ were raised with Him. In other words, we are now seated with Him at God’s right hand in the heavenly places, “far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come”! (Ephesians 1:21) Adam never had this position. So through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have received so much more.

In the Old Testament, we read of how God brought the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt into a land flowing with milk and honey. The devil thought that he could foil God’s plan by putting giants in the promised land to stop the Israelites from inheriting it. But God outsmarted the devil. He allowed the giants to build their homes and cities, dig wells and cultivate crops until the right time came. Then, He brought the Israelites into the land and evicted the giants!

So the Israelites ended up inheriting large beautiful cities which they did not build, houses full of all good things which they did not fill, hewn-out wells which they did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees which they did not plant! (Deuteronomy 6:10–11) Although the devil tried to prevent God’s plan for His people from coming to pass, they ended up receiving so much more!

Beloved, the devil may throw obstacles and evil circumstances at you, but God will turn those evil schemes around for your greater blessing because He is for you!

What Trump Tells the UN

Trump to U.N.: "We commit to fighting the drug epidemic together"
BY PAMELA FALK / CBS NEWS
UNITED NATIONS --  President Trump vowed Monday to work with the United Nations and its member countries to fight drug trafficking and addiction across the globe. "The scourge of drug addiction continues to claim too many lives in the United States and in nations around the world. Today, we commit to fighting the drug epidemic together," Mr. Trump told U.N. diplomats at a meeting of the Global Call to Action on the World Drug Problem.

"Illicit drugs are linked to organized crime, illegal financial flows, corruption, and terrorism," Mr. Trump said. "It's vital for public health and national security that we fight drug addiction and stop all forms of trafficking and smuggling that provide the financial lifeblood for vicious transnational cartels."

U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres applauded Mr. Trump for "focusing a global spotlight on the world drug problem," adding, "we have never needed it more."

Global production of opioids and cocaine has reached an all-time high, with 31 million people around the world requiring treatment for drug use and 450,000 people dying every year from overdoses or drug-related health issues, Guterres told the conference. He called the U.S. opioid crisis "heartbreaking."

Drug overdoses killed 70,652 people in the U.S. in 2017, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The U.N. is urging member countries to adopt a two-track approach to reducing drug abuse and addiction, Guterres said, by both cracking down on traffickers and increasing treatment for addicts.

Sharing intelligence among member states, he said, will help the crackdown, and Guterres urged U.N. members to work together to deny safe haven to drug traffickers, pursue kingpins and dismantle their networks.

Despite campaign promises and a high-level focus on international drug trafficking, Mr. Trump has slashed the U.S. counter-narcotics budget by cutting back on personnel at the State Department and other agencies who fight the international drug trade.

"One of the clearest constraints imposed by these cuts is on our ability to counter global threats, including narcotics," Brett Bruen, a former White House official who now teaches at Georgetown University, told CBS News.

The Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction noted that the U.S. has spent $8.6 billion to fight drug trafficking in Afghanistan since 2002, yet the country remains the world's largest opium producer.

Opening the president's week at the U.N. with the counter-narcotics event gave a positive start to his presence at the world body as it is one of the rare areas where the vast majority of U.N. members are on the same side as the United States.

The president voiced unusual support for the world body, telling the conference, "I've always said the United Nations has tremendous potential, and that potential is being met. Slowly but surely, it's being met."

Mr. Trump will address the General Assembly's 193 member nations on Tuesday morning and chair a Security Council meeting on Wednesday, his first time wielding the U.N. gavel. Mr. Trump is also scheduled to hold one-on-one meetings with the leaders of South Korea, Egypt, France, Israel, Japan and the U.K.

"It's sort of like speed dating," Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., said last week of the president's schedule.

PDP Asks Court to Stop Re-Run Poll in Osun State

September 24, 2018

Press Statement

PDP Heads to Court over Osun Guber
…Insists INEC Erred In Declaring Decided Poll Inconclusive

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is heading to the court to quash the illegal declaration of the September 22, 2018 Osun governorship election as inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The party insists that the polls have already been concluded and results announced in all polling and the collation centers, thus bringing the exercise to its lawful conclusion and removing INEC powers to declare the election inconclusive.

Our electoral law is clear that once an election result is declared, INEC is bound to return a winner. INEC, in trying to play the card of the defeated All Progressives Congress (APC), contravened the law by refusing to announce a return, even when the declared results have thrown up a winner.

Section 69 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) states that inter-alia “in an election to the office of the President or governor whether or not contested and in any contested election to any other elective office, the result shall be ascertained by counting the votes cast for each candidate and subject to the provisions of sections 133, 134 and 179 of the constitution, the candidate that receives the highest number of votes shall be declared elected by the appropriate Returning Officer.”

Concurrently, Section 179 (2), (a) (b) of the constitution directly prescribes that “a candidate for an election to the office of Governor of a State shall be deemed to have been duly elected where, there being two or more candidates - (a) he has the highest number of votes cast at the election; and (b) he has not less than one-quarter of all the votes cast in each of at least two-thirds of all the local government areas in the State.

INEC’s action in declaring a concluded election as inconclusive is therefore an annulment, totally duplicitous, constitutionally illegal, ultra-vires and as such null and void.

The PDP therefore demands the immediate arrest and prosecution of the Osun State Governorship Election Returning Officer, Prof. Joseph Fuwape, for succumbing to the pressure of the APC and declaring a decided election as inconclusive.

We demand that INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu immediately summon the courage to do the needful by declaring our candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, as winner.

It is completely ludicrous, that INEC and the APC are now attempting to divert the narrative from the substance of the election by making outlandish allegations against the PDP and lobbying Civil Society Organizations and Electoral Observers to validate their illegality.

Moreover, even if the Osun governorship election is conducted over and over again, the PDP will still win as the people of the state have chosen the PDP and its candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke. Nevertheless, we insist that the September 22, 2018 election, under our laws, is conclusive and our candidate must be declared winner.

A legal opinion on the Osun rerun..by Hon West Idahosa

INEC says the Osun Governorship election is inconclusive because the difference in votes is less than the number of cancelled votes. They are probably relying on their  2015 guidelines which appears contrary to Constitutional provisions on this matter. It may make sense if the votes involved are  in relation to centers were elections were not held due to no fault of the voters. However, were elections were held and votes are cancelled, they remain cancelled. They ought not to form part of the counting process and should not influence the outcome of the elections for any reason whatsoever. In Oshiomhole vs Osunbor & ors, cancelled votes were added to PDP’s scores. All the  courts held that cancelled votes had no role to play in an election. The votes were deducted and Oshomhole was declared winner of the election. Why is INEC giving so much priority to cancelled votes on this occasion. I can’t fathom it. This may be more political than legal. My view.
Dr. West-Idahosa.

HEALING: TIME TO GET SERIOUS - Copeland

Time to Get Serious
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee.... I [will] remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
– Psalm 63:1,6

If you’re going to live in divine health, there are going to be times when you’ll have to be downright extreme about the Word of God. Times when you may be facing a sickness so severe that you need more than just a few moments in the Word and a quick prayer to receive your healing.

I want to tell you, in very practical terms, what I would do in a situation like that.

The moment I woke up in the morning, before I did anything else, I’d take Communion. I’d say, “Lord, I dedicate my body all day today to the service of my Lord Jesus Christ. I take Jesus’ pure blood shed for me.”

Then I’d put the devil in his place. I’d say, “I rebuke you, Satan. You’re not going to put any sickness and disease on me today. Regardless of the symptoms, regardless of what my body thinks about it, by the power of Jesus through His Spirit, I have overcome this sickness because He who is within me is greater than he who is in the world.”

Then, all day long, I’d thank God for my healing. I’d choose some teaching tapes that would fill my mind and my spirit with the anointed Word of God, and I’d listen to them throughout the day. In the afternoon, I’d praise God and receive Communion again to remind myself that the blood of Jesus is in my veins, that I’m part of God’s family.

You don’t have to wait until the second Sunday of each month or whatever to receive Communion. Jesus just said, “This do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:25). And if you’re facing a serious attack of the devil, you need to remember Jesus all day and all night. You need to consider Jesus until thoughts of Him push the thoughts of that sickness right out of your mind.

That night before bed I’d receive Communion again, then I’d praise myself to sleep. If I woke up in the night, I’d reach over and get my Bible and read all the healing scriptures and make the devil sorry he woke me.

When the devil launches a serious attack against your body, don’t mess around. Get serious about the Word. Put yourself under its constant care and it will take good care of you.

DON'T LET YOUR PAST ROB YOU - Pastor Prince

Daily Grace Inspiration

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13–14
- SEPTEMBER 20 -
DON’T LET YOUR PAST ROB YOU
Are you living a life of regrets thinking, “If only…”? “If only I had that college education…If only I had married the right girl…If only I had taken up the other job…If only I had not made that stupid mistake…”

Is your past robbing you of the joy of today? Then forget your past!

You might say, “But Pastor Prince, you do not know what I have done in the past!”

Consider Paul. If the devil had anything to bring against Paul, it would be reminders of how he had persecuted the early church and caused the deaths of many, including Stephen, the first Christian martyr.

Paul had done horrendous things that were hard for him to forget. But he had such a revelation of God’s awesome forgiveness that he could say, “forgetting those things which are behind…I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Beloved, God has forgiven you of all your sins. He has completely forgiven you and declared, “Your sins and lawless deeds, I will remember no more” (see Hebrews 10:17).

Like Paul, you can forget your past, the wrongs you have done and the hurts you have caused others or been through yourself. God can take the tears of yesterday and transform them into the miracles of tomorrow. He can restore to you in all abundance what you have lost. He can cause all things, even the painful events of your past, to work together for your good (see Romans 8:28).

God’s Word says, “The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard” (Isaiah 58:8). His glory will cover your past. Wherever you go, His glory covers your past. It is no longer the same past that you know of because His glory has descended on it. Your past is past. It has been wiped out. It is gone! So don’t let your past rob you of today’s joy any longer!

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

"And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people" (2 Cor. 6:14-16).

In order to have strong faith, you must see yourself as God sees you - and you must say about yourself what God says about you.

In the scripture quoted above, believers are called believers, and unbelievers are called unbelievers. So you can call yourself a believer.

Believers are called righteousness, and unbelievers are called unrighteousness. Have you ever called yourself righteousness? That's what the Bible calls you, so you are.

Believers are called light, and unbelievers are called darkness.

"And what concord hath Christ with Belial?" Here the Church is identified with Christ. Christ is the Head, and we are the Body. Your head doesn't go by one name and your body by another, does it? The Church is identified with Christ - we are the Body of Christ. Think about it. Let it soak in. What a basis for faith!

Confession: Because I am in Christ - I am a believer. I am righteousness. I am light. I am one who believes. I am the temple of God.

A Word About Angels - Faith to Faith Devotional

A Word About Angels

Kenneth Copeland

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Psalm 91:11

It’s time to set the record straight. Angels are not kid stuff. They’re not little fat babies with long blonde hair and bows and arrows in their hands. Angels are big, strong warriors. They are real. They are powerful. And if you are a believer, they are a vital part of your life.

We see examples of what angels can do all through the Bible. For instance, when the children of Israel were fleeing from Egypt with Pharaoh’s army hot on their heels, the Bible tells us that suddenly the wheels on the Egyptians’ chariots got fouled up. They just quit rolling!

Who do you think caused that? The angels, of course!

They haven’t retired since then either. Angels are at work today just as they’ve always been.

A few years ago in one of Israel’s major wars, the enemy had their guns trained on Israeli cities. Those guns were the finest military equipment money could buy. They had a range of at least 20 miles and were equipped with electronic gun sights for accuracy.

But something very odd happened. Every time they fired those guns at the Israelis, they either overshot or fell far short of their targets. We know there was nothing wrong with the guns because later the Israelis captured them and fired them back at the enemy with perfect success.

What happened? Angels, that’s what!

My friend, that isn’t just a fairy tale. That’s a real-life example of the involvement of angels in the lives of God’s people today. And, if you’re a child of God, you have a right to expect God’s angels to do the same kind of things for you.

So, start expecting! Say, “Thank You, heavenly Father, for giving Your angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways.” Once you’ve spoken that word of faith, stand fast. Don’t fear. Don’t waver. Just be patient and keep believing, and you will surely see the salvation of the Lord.

Ahmed's Revenue Verdict a Proof Against Buhari's Incompetence - PDP

September 18, 2018

Press Statement

PDP: Ahmed’s Revenue Verdict Vindicates Our Stand On Buhari’s Incompetence

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the declaration by the
supervising Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, that Nigeria was facing revenue challenges further vindicates its stand that President Muhammadu Buhari lacks the creative capacity and competence to run a productive economy.

The party also blamed the revenue challenge to the humongous corruption in the Buhari Presidency, which provides official cover for leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and cronies of Mr. President to divert and pocket over N10 trillion of our national revenue, in the last three years.

Had President Buhari heed wise counsel from Nigerians to accept his incompetence, hands off economic issues, end the corruption in his Presidency and get a strong economic team to manage our economy, our foreign direct investments and domestic productivity would not have crumpled.

Nigerians can recall how the PDP nurtured and bequeathed a very robust economy, with thriving domestic and international revenue openings in key sectors of the economy, and how President Buhari, in a space of three years, demarketed our economy through his utterances, harsh economic policies, condoning of corruption by his officials and failure to develop and drive a clear-cut economic blueprint for the nation.

Nigerians expect Mrs. Ahmed to show patriotism and courage by exposing the corruption in the financial sector under Buhari, set in motion machinery to recover the over N10 trillion looted by the Presidency cabal and channel the fund back into the economy.

Our worry, however, is that nothing much will come out from the supervising minister as those who saw to her appointment are members of the same Presidency cabal that used the disgraced erstwhile finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, as clearing house to fritter away our national resources.

Moreover, Nigerians are already apprehensive that the supervising minister might become ethically challenged like Adeosun, following allegations of forgery against her in the social media where the public is already raising queries of alleged incongruities between her claimed date of birth and dates of educational qualifications.

The PDP wonders why Buhari’s key appointees are mostly persons of questionable claims; a development that casts a long shadow on the integrity of the Buhari administration.

Finally, since the supervising minister has admitted that the nation is faced with revenue challenges under the Buhari regime, the PDP counsels Mr. President to humbly accept his failure, get ready to accept defeat in 2019 presidential election and quit the stage for a competent President, that would be elected on the platform of the PDP, to return our nation to the path of economic prosperity and national cohesion.

BUHARI IS INSENSITIVE TO THE PEOPLE'S YEARNINGS - Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)

Buhari Insensitive to Yearnings of Nigerians – CAN
The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has condemned in strong terms the failure of President Muhammadu Buhari to be fair to all sections of the country in the three recent appointments.
The President has made three key appointments in the last few days, but none of them comes from the South and none is a Christian! He appointed Yusuf Magaji Bichi, a Muslim, from Kano State to replace Matthew Seiyefa, a Christian from Bayelsa who had been operating in an acting capacity since Lawal Daura was sacked in Buhari’s absence.
Mr Abbas Umar Masanawa was also named the Managing Director of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company, just as Hajiya Zainab Ahmed was appointed the acting Finance Minister to replace Mrs Kemi Adeosun who resigned as a result of her failure to participate in the NYSC programme and for parading a forged NYSC Certificate of Exemption.
We wish to place on record, once again, the dangerous and religious discrimination and partiality that have characterized the President Buhari-led administration. We believe the marginalisation of the Christians is deliberate to heighten the tension in the land for whatever reasons.
CAN notes with disappointments, shocks and surprises that despite our appeal to President Buhari to break the domination of the country’ security council by people of the same religion and language in a multi-religious and multi-ethnic groups that make up Nigeria, he still derives pleasure in turning a deaf ear to the Voice of Wisdom and Reason as manifested in the three appointments.
As we noted in our January Press Conference, “Under President Buhari, the murderous Fulani herdsmen enjoyed unprecedented protection and favouritism to the extent that the herdsmen treat Nigeria as a conquered territory. Rather than arrest and prosecute the Fulani herdsmen, security forces usually manned by Muslims from the North offer them protection as they unleash terror with impunity on the Nigerian people.
“The bottom line is that President Buhari failed woefully to protect Nigerians. He wilfully permitted the Fulani herdsmen to operate, killing people, destroying communities wholesale, destroying farmlands and turning the entire Middle Belt into “killing fields”, all the while enjoying government protection from counter attack, arrest or prosecution.
“By failing to curb the attacks of the Fulani herdsmen President Buhari has failed to uphold Section 14, Para. 2 (b) in the Constitution that ‘the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government:’
"Through his partial, sectional and discriminatory appointments, particularly in Security and Education, President Buhari violated Section 14, Para. 3 “The composition of the Government of the Federation or any of its agencies and the conduct of its affairs shall be carried out in such a manner as to reflect the federal character of Nigeria and the need to promote national unity, and also to command national loyalty, thereby ensuring that there shall be no predominance of persons from a few State or from a few ethnic or other sectional groups in that Government or in any of its agencies.”
The President who at his inauguration three years ago promised to be fair to all has been consistently and persistently discriminating against Christians and Southerners in all his appointments and policies.
CAN is also disappointed with the justification of the illegalities being perpetrated by Buhari in the lopsided appointments by the Presidency including a handful Christians in his government who are doing so primarily to keep their jobs, at the expense of the majority.
For anyone to be asking all well-meaning Nigerians, including some media houses, to stop complaining of the lopsided appointments in the security apparatus of the country is reprehensible, insensitive, and wicked.
Perhaps, if there was no undeclared systematic ethnic cleansing and genocide in the predominant Christian communities in the country, as rightly observed by the likes of Prof Wole Soyinka and General T. Y. Danjuma  of recent, we would have turned a blind eye to the unlawful action of the President.
The notorious Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has been threatening those who condemn their nefarious activities in the Middle belt where thousands of our members are being killed with impunity, yet the association that has a lot of things in common with terrorist organisations are not only being treated with kid gloves by the security agencies, but their aggressive attacks on the innocent people are being justified by the President, the Defence Minister, the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Information and the Inspector General of Police.
The Boko Haram Islamic terrorist organisation has not ceased attacking and killing our people, they are abducting our members on a daily basis and despite all our hues and cries, the Federal Government and the security agencies have refused to liberate Leah Sharibu and others in the enclave of this blood-sucking terrorist group because of their faith.
CAN is fully persuaded beyond any reasonable doubt that it is the lopsided appointments in the security agencies that is largely responsible why Christians have become endangered species in their Fatherland under the leadership of Buhari.
CAN also wishes to observe that the lopsided appointments is a hallmark of the Federal Government in other key ministries like Interior, Defence, Education and Information. We challenge the Federal Ministry of Information and the Presidency to contradict this fact with evidences by publishing names of all heads of the parastatals and agencies including their states of origins and religions.
These are all parts of the gradual and subtle islamisation agenda, but we are sad that those who are benefitting from the existing order, Christians inclusive, have been dismissing this alert with a wave of hands. CAN as the Watchman for the nation will refuse to be cowed or intimidated.
We recalled that the Organisation of Islamic Countries met in London in 1983 with a follow-up meeting in Nigeria in 1989 and had issued a communiqué to Islamize Africa with Nigeria capturing a great attention. This is a public knowledge while facts could be obtained from Wikipedia with links on OIC’s Conference in London, 1983 and Abuja Declaration of 1989.
This is the source of the ongoing systemic Islamisation agenda as member states in Africa were asked to take over key posts in the public service with a view to using them to propagate Islam.
This is what Buhari has been implementing in the last three years. Our fear is if President Buhari, who is pursuing second term, can be discriminating against Christians and the South, we wonder what will become of him if he is re-elected. We call on all well- meaning Nigerians to speak against the ills in the country before it is too late. If the trend continues, the future of this great country looks bleak.
We seek your assistance by publishing this statement in your popular, credible and reliable media.
Thank You for your usual co-operation.
Signed Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, Special Assistant (Media and Communications) to the CAN President, His Eminence,  Rev Dr Samson Olasupo Ayokunle.

STAND UP AND BE COUNTED - Copeland

Stand Up and Be Counted
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
– 1 Timothy 2:1-2

We are commanded to pray for our country and our leaders. But having prayed, God expects us to act. The elections in the United States are vital to the future of this nation. Our country is in the midst of a spiritual outpouring, and it’s vitally important that the right people be elected. We must see to it.

Don’t wait until election time is upon us before you start seeking God for whom to vote. Begin to pray now so that the news media and other voices from every corner cannot influence you and cannot draw you in a direction away from the Spirit of God. Pray so that you won’t be influenced by natural reactions and natural responses to cleverly designed commercials and ideas.

Start praying now about the coming elections. Whether they are small local elections or major national elections, make them a part of every prayer you pray. Then thank the Spirit of God for His wisdom concerning for whom to vote. Thank Him for giving you His wisdom about what to say and when to say it to others. Thank Him for giving you wisdom to declare the Name of Jesus and declare that this shall be a God-indwelt, God-ordained, God-overseen administration.

So register. Pray. Vote. Then stand up and be counted by the power of the living God.

WHAT YOU ARE CONSCIOUS OF WILL MANIFEST - Pastor Prince

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
1 John 4:4
- SEPTEMBER 16 -
WHAT YOU ARE CONSCIOUS OF WILL MANIFEST
If you have been to a circus performance or watched one on television, you would be familiar with the act involving a lion and its trainer. But have you ever wondered why, besides holding a whip, the trainer would arm himself with a stool and point its legs toward the beast?

The whole idea is to distract the lion. You see, as powerful as the beast is, it can be immobilized by distractions. If this man-eater is not distracted from time to time, it might just decide to maul the trainer to death!

The devil is like the trainer. He knows that you have God’s power inside you because the Lion of Judah is in you, and “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” So what the devil tries to do is immobilize you with distractions.

For example, he may bring to your attention a pain in your body to distract you. And you find yourself going to a few medical journals or the Internet to find out more about the symptoms. You also decide to consult more than one doctor. And because you know of someone who has the same condition, you talk to him about it.

In the end, you are distracted by the pain, the symptoms, your findings, the doctors’ reports and your friend’s experience. And you find it hard to believe and focus on God’s Word about your healing. You have become immobilized, powerless and fearful.

So the devil’s trick is to get you to focus on your condition. When you are conscious of the symptoms in your body and your findings, you will see sickness manifest. But God wants you to focus on who you are and what you have in Christ. When you are conscious that you are the healed in Christ, you will see healing manifest.

My friend, what you are conscious of will manifest. So be conscious of Christ, who is all the power of God inside you, and you will see that power manifest!

Fulani Herdsmen Kill 2 Boys on the Plateau

TWO BOYS KILLED BY CATTLE RUSTLERS IN VWANG, JOS SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENTAREA.
Two boys have been killed while one narrowly escaped when gunmen believed to be Fulani herdsmen yesterday evening attempted to rustle more than 300 herds of cattle in Gwonohwong, near the permanent site of Karl Kuum University, Vwang, Jos South Local Government Area.
The two boys whose names were given as Ntyang Pam Danjuma, aged nine and Mesheck Dalyop Kang'ageda ten were slaughtered by their attackers while shepherding their cattle.
The attackers, numbering about seven, some in military camouflage, were said to have succeeded in rustling the 300 herds of cattle after killing the boys.
However, following an alarm by the boy who escaped, Bitrus Dalyop Maisaje,  members of the community and men of the Kaduna Vom Divisional police station, pursued them, leading to the recovery of all the rustled cattle.
As a result, the attackers escaped into the nearby hills.
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Kaduna Vom, Chief Superintendent of Police, O. Amadi who was at the scene of the attack this morning, confirmed the incident, saying following a distress call by the Gwom Turu, Da Ezekiel Dalyop, men of the Division immediately went into action, chasing the attackers into the hills.
Amadi said the attackers could not contain the fire power of the police forcing them to abandon the rustled cattle.
The DPO said investigations are on to reveal the identities of those behind the heinous crime.
Also speaking, the Gwom Rwey Vwang, Da Gyang Gutt Balak, accompanied by the Gwom Rwey Heipang Da Taddy Tok, appealed to the people to remain calm and refrain from taking the law into their hands.
While sympathizing with parents of the victims, the Gwom Rwey expressed surprise that his domain had come under attack again after almost after a two-year lull.
The bodies of the two boys were later taken and deposited at the Vom Christian Hospital mortuary.

Full Text of the Resignation Letter of Kemi Adeosun

14th September 2018
His Excellency
Muhammadu Buhari
President, Federal Republic of Nigeria
State House
Aso Villa
Abuja

Dear Excellency,

Let me commence by thanking you profusely for the honour and privilege of serving under your inspirational leadership. It has been a truly rewarding experience to learn from you and to observe at close quarters your integrity and sense of duty.

I have, today, become privy to the findings of the investigation into the allegation made in an online medium that the Certificate of Exemption from National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) that I had presented was not genuine. This has come as a shock to me and I believe that in line with this administration’s focus on integrity, I must do the honourable thing and resign.

Your Excellency, kindly permit me to outline some of the background to this matter. I was born and raised in the United Kingdom, indeed my parental family home remains in London. My visits to Nigeria up until the age of thirty-four (34) were holidays, with visas obtained in my UK passport. I obtained my first Nigerian passport at the age of thirty-four (34) and when I relocated there was debate as to whether NYSC Law applied to me. Upon enquiry as to my status relating to NYSC, I was informed that due to my residency history and having exceeded the age of thirty (30), I was exempted from the requirement to serve. Until recent events, that remained my understanding.

On the basis of that advice and with the guidance and assistance of those, I thought were trusted associates, NYSC were approached for documentary proof of status. I then received the certificate in question. Having never worked in NYSC, visited the premises, been privy to nor familiar with their operations, I had no reason to suspect that the certificate was anything but genuine. Indeed, I presented that certificate at the 2011 Ogun State House of Assembly and in 2015 for Directorate of State Services (DSS) Clearance as well as to the National Assembly for screening. Be that as it may, as someone totally committed to a culture of probity and accountability I have decided to resign with effect from Friday, 14th September, 2018.

Your Excellency, It has been an exceptional privilege to have served our nation under your leadership and to have played a role in steering our economy at a very challenging time. I am proud that Nigeria has brought discipline into its finances, has identified and is pursuing a path to long term sustainable growth that will unlock the potential in this great economy. Under your leadership, Nigeria was able to exit recession and has now started to lay the foundations for lasting growth and wealth creation. Repositioning this huge economy is not a short term task and there are no shortcuts, indeed there are tough decisions still to be made but I have no doubt that your focus on infrastructural investment, revenue mobilisation and value for money in public expenditure will deliver growth, wealth and opportunity for all Nigerians.

I thank His Excellency, the Vice President and my colleagues in the Federal Executive Council for the huge pleasure and honour of working with them. I also thank most specially, the team in the ‘Finance Family’ of advisers and heads of agencies under the Ministry of Finance. Your Excellency, this group of committed Nigerians represent a range of backgrounds, ethnicities and ages. They have worked well above and beyond the call of duty to support me in the tasks assigned. The diversity in my team and their ability to work cohesively to deliver reforms, convinces me that Nigeria has the human capital required to succeed.

Your Excellency, let me conclude by commending your patience and support, during the long search for the truth in this matter. I thank you again for giving me the honour of serving under your leadership, it is a rare privilege, which I do not take for granted. As a Nigerian and committed progressive, I appreciate you for your dogged commitment to improving this nation.
Please be assured, as always, of my highest regards and best wishes

POLITICIANS SHOULD STOP USING YOUTHS AS THIUGS - CAN

Politicians Should Stop Using Youths as Thugs – CAN President
...Lack of Patriotism is Responsible for the Nigeria’s problems
...Shun political violence – Saraki tasks Nigerian youths

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has tasked the political leaders at all levels to involve the Nigerian youths in the nation building instead of using them for thuggery and all forms of electoral malpractices.

The Christian umbrella that made this clarion call also charges the Nigerian youths to be patriotic, dedicated, hardworking, committed, optimistic, focused and hopeful in all their endeavour if they must be relevant as the country is facing a lot of challenges threatening her stability.

Speaking at the official inauguration of the new leadership of the Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (YUWICAN), the CAN President, His Eminence, Rev Dr Samson Olasupo Ayokunle decries the menace of unemployment in the country despite the potentials of our youths due to lack of visionless leadership and how politicians have been misusing them for selfish reasons.

Said he, “Election is coming, campaign has begun. I call on all our politicians to stop using our youths for violence and electoral manipulations. God has deposited a lot of potentials in our youths with a view to using them as builders of this country. The politicians should stop misusing them. I call on all Nigerian youths especially the Christian youths to shun all electoral violence and manipulations.”

He also reminded those playing leadership roles in the Church to regard their tasks as sacrifices to God instead of seeing their works as channels of enriching themselves.

Speaking on THE ROLE OF CHRISTIAN YOUTH IN NATION BUILDING AND DEVELOPMENT, the Director of National Issues and Social Welfare of the Association, Rt. Rev. (Dr.) Stephen T.V. Adegbite who was the Guest Speaker asks the Christian youths to be involve the political process as part of their responsibilities in Nation Building.

“Youths must seek to participate in government, politics and policy formulation. We must shelve aside our responsibilities of joining mainstream politics and forming healthy and progressive alliances among ourselves and participating in all issues of national interest.

“Service and sacrifice to the country and fatherland in the spirit of true patriotism must be a front burner in the heart of every youth. This means the country’s peace, sanity and orderliness should be the utmost desire of every youth. By way of responsibility, the participation and involvement of the Christian youth in nationalisation is mandatory.

“It is also evidence that patriotism is the first trait lacking among Christian youths. For any nation to move forward, the people and most especially the Christian youth must love their country unconditionally.

“All the evil that befall befalls this country, like corruption, terrorism, ethno religious crisis are as a result of lack of true patriotism. If we truly love this nation, we will do anything to protect her interest and we will have in mind that Nigeria is bigger than any individual or institution.”

In his own remark, the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki appeals to the Nigerian youths to say NO to all forms of violence in the coming general election.

Saraki who was represented by Senator Philip Tanimo Aduda as one of the awardees said, “I call on all Nigerian youths not to participate in any electoral violence as we are drawing closer to the 2019 election. They are welcome on board in the building of our country and we promise that we will not fail them.”

He used the opportunity to solicit for prayers and support in his bid to become the President of the country next year.

The new leadership of the YOWICAN includes Apostle Nyeneime Andy (the President), Pastor Adegbegi E. Ayodeji (Vice President), Pius Peter (Assistant National Secretary), and Miss Ekom Ladi Lydia (Treasurer). Others are the National Directors; Ama Kalu, Okoye Paschal,  Isaiah Tovishede, Kenny Steve and Ibrahim Istifanus Tal.

TAKE CORRECTION - Copeland

Take Correction
Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise man and he will be yet wiser; teach a righteous man...and he will increase in learning.
– Proverbs 9:8-9, The Amplified Bible

There is one thing you can do that will accelerate your spiritual growth more than almost any other thing: Learn to take correction—from the Spirit of God and from His people.

So few believers seem to be able to do that. When their preacher gets in the pulpit and preaches about something they already know, about some aspect of life they’ve already submitted to the Lord, they think he’s great. They like him because he makes them feel good. But the moment he stands up and begins to preach about something they’re doing wrong, they take offense.

God says that’s foolish. He says in Proverbs 1:7, only fools strike out at, or despise, correction.

So don’t be like that. When your pastor or anyone else in the Body of Christ has a word of correction for you, receive it gratefully. Appreciate those who share the wisdom of God with you. When someone points out somewhere that you’ve missed it, instead of reacting against them, examine yourself and say, “Is that right? Does that agree with the Word? Do I need to make a change there?”

If the answer to those questions is yes, then make the changes you need to make to get your life in line.

I know that’s not easy. None of us likes to be corrected. But if you’ll make up your mind you’re going to receive that correction anyway, that you’re going to remain teachable, you’ll be able to go on and grow in spiritual things much more quickly.

One man said, “If you think you’ve already arrived, you aren’t going anywhere.” Remember that next time someone corrects you. Love that person and thank him for speeding along your spiritual progress. If you’ll do that, you’ll come out ahead every time.

CHRIST YOUR WISDOM GIVES YOU GOOD SUCCESS - Pastor Prince

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God…
1 Corinthians 1:30
- SEPTEMBER 14 -
CHRIST YOUR WISDOM GIVES YOU GOOD SUCCESS
It is believed that there has never been a wealthier king than King Solomon. God gave him wisdom that not only made him wise in matters of justice, but also brought him gold and silver (see 1 Kings 3:12–13).

According to a report by the Illinois Society of Architects in 1925, the cost of Solomon’s temple in terms of existing values would have been about US$87 billion! The priests wore garments costing more than US$10 million! These amounts only cover what Solomon spent on the temple and not his personal assets.

We can go on talking about the riches of King Solomon, but the Bible tells us that there is one greater than Solomon (see Matthew 12:42). His name is Jesus, and He is the most prosperous Man who ever lived and who will ever live.

If there was a need to feed the hungry, He simply multiplied whatever food was placed in His hands. On one occasion, He multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed 5,000 men, not counting women and children. And incredibly, there were 12 baskets full of leftovers (see Matthew 14:15–21).

If any of His own faced lack, it was not long before abundant provision flowed to them. Once, when His disciples caught nothing after a whole night of fishing, He merely spoke a word of command and schools of fish obeyed, swimming toward His disciples’ boat so that they received a net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fish (see Luke 5:1–7). In another incident, He provided the money for the temple tax, even if it took a fish to bring it to them (see Matthew 17:24–27)!

My friend, this same Jesus has become for you wisdom from God. If you are a businessman, with Christ in you, you have wisdom that is greater than the wisdom of all the world’s business gurus put together. And if you are a student, Christ in you will manifest wisdom that is greater than all the wisdom of the brilliant minds in the academic world.

Beloved, believe that because Jesus, God’s wisdom, is in you, there is no reason you cannot prosper today, and astound the world in the same way Solomon did!

REAL INTERCESSOR - Copeland

Real Intercession
And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor.
– Isaiah 59:16

When someone hurts us, our natural human reaction is to strike back...to ask God to clobber them. But that’s not God’s way.

I realized that one time when some relatives of mine got robbed. I was praying about the situation and puzzling over it. “Lord,” I began to ask, “why did You let that happen? Why didn’t You just knock that thief over the head when he tried to do that?”

Suddenly, God enabled me to back up from that situation and look at it with spiritual, instead of just purely natural, eyes.

When I did that, I knew the answer to my question almost as quickly as I had asked it. It was because of His mercy. God has great, great mercy. Not just for me and my family but for others too.

Think about that next time someone does you wrong. Instead of asking God to knock that person in the head, like I did, consider the fact that—as ornery as he may be—he may well have a grandmother somewhere who’s praying for him to be saved. Stop and remember that God loved him enough to die for him, that He’s longing to pardon—not punish him.

Then you can begin to pray for him instead of against him, uniting yourself with his grandmother (or anyone else who happens to be praying for him). You can go to the Lord for mercy for him and you can go up against the devil on his behalf. That’s real intercession and it throws the forces of darkness into total confusion. They have absolutely no defense against it.

The Lord is looking for people who are bold enough, committed enough to do that. Dare to be one of them. When you’re tempted to clobber someone, dare to change his life instead.

SOW WHERE YOU WANT A HARVEST - Pastor Prince

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him.
Genesis 26:12
- SEPTEMBER 13 -
SOW WHERE YOU WANT A HARVEST
When you sow apple seeds, you get apples. When you sow seeds of friendship, you get friends. If in the natural, you receive in the area in which you sow, how much more will you receive in the supernatural when God blesses you!

The Bible tells us that when Isaac sowed in the land, he reaped a hundredfold even though there was a famine in that land (see Genesis 26:1). The reason was that “the Lord blessed him.”

So if you are believing God for a breakthrough in a particular area, sow in that area. A brother wrote a note to me at a conference I was preaching at in London. He shared with me how he was one of only two employees promoted in his department and given a substantial increase in his salary despite the economic downturn in England and rentrenchment exercise at his workplace. The sum of his salary was "more than 10 times" what he had sowed into God's kingdom at the same conference the year before. It could only be the Lord blessing him. And He “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).

Whatever money or time you give to the Lord, He will multiply it back to you. For example, you have 24 hours a day like everyone else, but the Lord can make your day very fruitful. And even after doing all that needs to be done, you will find that you still have time left to rest.

Even when you have nothing to give but prayers, your prayers will not return to you void. God can answer them exceedingly above what you have asked. When Job lost everything that he possessed, he prayed for his friends, and the Lord not only restored his losses, but He also “gave Job twice as much as he had before” (Job 42:10).

So start sowing seeds in the area that you are believing God for, and know that before long, you will be reaping your harvest!

My Problem With APC - Speaker Dogara laments

2019: Dogara reveals how APC asked him to beg for ticket
dailypost.ng Sep 13,

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has said he was asked to beg for the ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dogara said this when he hosted some of his supporters at his Abuja residence on Thursday.

DAILY POST reports that Dogara’s supporters had presented 2019 forms of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to him, urging him to pull out of the ruling party.

Dogara, however, asked them to give him more time for consultation.

“Truly, I have decided that I will not seek election again. They said they will give me ticket in APC but that I must go and beg for it. I said I do not need the ticket. In politics, I have never gone to anybody’s house to beg for ticket.

“My ticket is my people. I have assured them that even if I run under zero party, my people will vote for me. So long as it is Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa, even if we run under zero party; we will win by God’s grace. We have thrived well in many political battles in the past and this one too, we shall overcome it. Nobody can threaten us or tell us that we cannot contest election in a political party we spent our resources to establish, only God can stop us.

“I had heard your voices and the voice of the people is the voice of God. We are in politics to serve and not to be served. As I said, if it were for me, I will quit because truly I am tired and even thought of stepping aside. But we must run election so long as our people say so.

“I have seen the forms you brought. I don’t know how you got it but I must thank you for this sacrifice. Left for me; I will appeal that you give me sometime to go and consult further.

“I have a lot of supporters in the APC but I have not told any of them what I intend to do or where I will go because I was not given the opportunity but I will assure you that wherever you want me to go or whatever you want me to do I will obey you because you have been with me. This is leadership.”

Dogara also revealed how he gave the APC the condition to pacify some federal lawmakers, before he could reconcile with the leadership of the party.

“Even when they were talking about reconciliation in APC, we told them that even if I will be given free ticket in APC, so long as they do not do justice to Senator Sulieman Nazif, Senator Isa Hamma Misau, Honourable Ahmed Yerima, Hon. Aminu Tukur, Hon. Maryam Bagel and others, I will not accept it. I even said that if they will do justice to these people I will be satisfied,” he said.

“You have now given us another opportunity to correct the greatest mistake we did in politics, which was to bring this present government in Bauchi State. This is one of the reasons we must run for election and do away with this plague, chase these termites from Bauchi State.

“I will not disobey you but before I fill these forms, I will have to inform all my supporters in the APC about the decision taken by my constituents since all politics is local,” the Speaker added.

Southern and Middlebelt Leaders Forum Rejects Buhari's New DG DSS

PRESS SRATEMENT BY SOUTHERN AND MIDDLE BELT LEADERS FORUM

Appointment of new DGDSS:Buhari's vote-of-no-confidence in One Nigeria

The outright disregard for the conditions precedent for a united Nigeria and an inclusive country which President Buhari has become well known for was taken to a new height this evening with the removal of  the Acting DG of DSS,Mr Matthew Seiyefa and replacement with Mr Yusuf Magaji Bichi from Kano.

The I-don't-care and in-your-face attitude of the President in restoring Nigeria security architecture to the provocative situation of having 16 out of 17 service chiefs from his corner of the country is a clear demonstration of the fact that Nigeria for General Muhammadu Buhari is no more than his section of Nigeria and the resources and the constitutionally mandatory votes from other sections of the country .

Since 1960,Nigeria has never had a leader more sectional ,narrow, parochial ,and tribalistic like the current President who went on a global stage to divide Nigeria into "97 % and 5%".

We have  looked critically at the profiles of the Acting DG who was removed and the one Buhari just appointed and it is crystal clear that Bichi does not come with any experience close to that of Seiyefa. The only qualification for this appointment is therefore only the rabid nepotism of the President which has seen him always masking personal and sectional interest as "national interest."

Besides,Bichi is an out-of-the -system man drafted by Mr Lawan Daura in the days of his nepotism rule at the DSS.The next six most senior persons in line of succession at the DSS after Seiyefa are  from our findings are all southerners which may explain why the President picked a man who already retired from the DSS to lead because of ethnic affinity .

That the President went ahead to deep himself further into the cocoon of ethnic irredentism in making this insensitive appointment shows clearly that he does not care a hoot about the unity ,cohesion and oneness of Nigeria ,

We reject this appointment and we do not shy in telling Mr President that he no longer pretends that the country is one under him .

In the last few days ,there have been fears coming from the international community about the dangers that would come the way of  Nigeria if Mr President returns for another term. With his latest action,we add that the country is not safe in the remainder of his first term.

Lastly we ask Mr President :Are we still one county ?

VOTE BUYING: Ex- President Jonathan Blasts Oshiomhole

A former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday, reacted to claims by the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole that he started vote-buying in Nigeria.
Speaking on Channels Television programme, Roadmap, Oshiomhole had alleged that the former President introduced electoral malpractice in Nigeria.
Reacting to the claim, Jonathan questioned the psychological state of Oshiomhole.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan said even though he was not aware of why the APC Chairman made the misleading remark, he noted that Oshiomhole’s claim may not be unconnected with the pressure he was going through in his new office.
The statement reads, “We really do not know the real reason for this misleading falsehood, at this point in time. However, we can only guess that Mr Oshiomhole who is currently operating under tremendous stress in the bid to steady the already floundering ship of his administration as the new leader of his party, may have got himself entangled in a voyage of tactless desperation.
“His recent flip-flops where he praised Governor Samuel Ortom and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso one day only to denounce them the very next day, is enough evidence of his fragile psychological state.
“Not only is he content on squabbling with members of the opposition, we note the self-destructive tendencies of Oshiomhole who is locked in a feud with members of his own party including the minister of labour, Chris Ngige, and a host of APC Governors. It appears that Mr Oshiomhole’s psychological strain may have reached boiling point.
“On the vexatious issue of ‘vote-buying’, which has unfortunately found its way into our election lexicon, this is what we know: It is obvious that the shameful development in our democratic experience became very glaring during the 2016 gubernatorial elections in Edo State; an exercise that took place more than one year after President Jonathan had left office.
“It is therefore disingenuous for any politician or group to link the former President with the anomaly, no matter how they want to stretch the now-failing blame game.
“While in Office as President between 2010 and 2015, Jonathan conducted many elections including the 2011 and 2015 general elections, and many off-season gubernatorial and parliamentary elections in some States like Anambra, Ekiti, Ondo and Edo; and not for once did the issue of vote buying come up in the assessment of those elections.
“It is instructive that in each case, the former President was given a clean bill, with both local and international observers commending him for having supervised a credible and transparent process.
“One of those who gave the former President a clean bill of health, was Mr Oshiomhole himself who on July 16, 2012, said: ‘What the Edo election has confirmed is that when the President and Commander-in-Chief puts the country first and he conducts himself as a statesman not just as a party leader, credible elections are possible.’
“When you juxtapose the above statement with Mr Oshiomhole’s current statement, it becomes obvious that the APC Chairman is suffering from multiple personality syndrome and has a Jekyll and Hyde schizophrenia.”

DON'T BE DISTURBED - Pastor Copeland

Don't Be Disturbed
The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
– Psalm 33:10

You may be facing trouble today that’s being caused by people who have willfully plotted to do you harm. They may be trying to steal your business, your home, your children, or even to destroy your marriage. If so, I have a word of encouragement for you. According to Psalm 33:10, God will bring the plans of those people to nought. He will make their devices of none effect. The counsel of the heathen is brought to nought, but the counsel of the Lord stands forever!

Remember this: When you make God your stronghold in the time of trouble, no one can overcome you. No matter how powerful they are in the natural, the odds are in your favor because you trust in the Lord. They may think they’ve got an edge over you, but God is on your side and that gives you the advantage!

Rest assured, you are eventually going to triumph over this trouble. In the meantime, if you’ll set your affections on the Lord, the thoughts of His heart will continually be coming into your heart. “The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide” (Psalm 37:30-31). God’s counsel will give you stability when all the world around you is shaking. Evil tidings will not be able to steal your peace. The thoughts of God will immediately rise up and rebuke the evil tidings from taking root in your heart.

Don’t let the temporary successes of the troublemaker disturb you. Instead, “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace” (verse 37).

HE GIVES HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER YOU - Pastor Prince

For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
Psalm 91:11–12
- SEPTEMBER 11 -
HE GIVES HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER YOU
You are about to step onto the road when something pulls you back just in time to avoid being hit by a speeding car. You are shocked. When you come to your senses, you ask yourself, “Could it be that an angel just saved me from a fatal accident?”

I believe that angels walk with us. The verse tells us that God has given His angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways. This means that they go ahead of you to protect you from the snares of the enemy.

But we may not know it when we encounter an angel (see Hebrews 13:2). This was probably the case with a couple in our church who were holidaying at a beach resort on Penang Island when a tsunami struck at about 12.30pm on 26 December 2004.

It was slightly past 11am when the wife suddenly had a craving for food from the mainland. The couple decided to check out earlier, so that they could reach the mainland in time for lunch. While loading their luggage into their car at the hotel driveway, a man impatiently motioned to them to hurry up and get moving.

Annoyed by his impatience, they quickly loaded their stuff and drove off. The minute they reached the mainland, they heard that a tsunami had struck Penang Island at the same beach where they were just a while ago. While thanking God for their narrow escape, it suddenly dawned on them that the impatient man could have been an angel charged by God to hurry them off!

God tells us that we have an innumerable company of angels (see Hebrews 12:22). And He has given them charge over us to protect us from accidents and other dangers. So don’t live fearful and limit your life. Believe that God loves you and that His angels walk with you and watch over you!

WHAT THE WORLD LEARNED ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 - WHITE HOUSE

What the world learned on September 11, 2001

Seventeen years ago, America and the world were forever changed. More than a decade and a half before his election as President, Donald Trump was in New York City the day an unprecedented act of terror unfolded across our country.

“When the World Trade Center came down, I saw something that no place on Earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely,” he said in 2016.

Today, President Trump, the First Lady, Vice President Mike Pence, and the Second Lady honored two other communities that were struck by attacks that day: Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and Arlington, Virginia. “This field is now a monument to American defiance,” the President said from the Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania. “We remember the moment when America fought back.”

This week, a new memorial opened at that site to commemorate the 40 brave passengers and crew members of Flight 93, whose actions that day prevented a likely attack on Washington, D.C. The "Tower of Voices" is a 93-foot structure with 40 wind chimes to honor each of their lives.

“Every time we hear those chimes playing in the wind, we will remember The Forty. We will remember their faces, their voices, their stories, their courage, and their love,” the President said.

Speaking at the Pentagon in Virginia, Vice President Pence echoed President Trump’s appreciation for America’s Service Members and first responders. “Even before the smoke cleared, and the fires had put out, Americans began to answer the call to step forward to serve this nation. And they did so by the millions,” he said.
