The most ridiculous of Buhari’s charade was making himself petroleum minister. I still can’t fathom the expertise he is bringing to the table to warrant this appointment. The last time he was petroleum minister, N2.8 billion allegedly got missing under his watch. Besides, making himself petroleum minister is unconstitutional under our presidential system. I am glad that a lawyer has gone to court to challenge this.
Why didn’t Buhari make himself agriculture minister, to directly
supervise the diversification of our economy and also resolve the
problem of nomadic cattle rearing? So, it is all about crude oil?
What is this idea of trying to turn Babatunde Fashola into a superman? Three very big sectors – power, works and housing – lumped into one for him to manage. This is ridiculous. I can’t see anything good coming out of this cabinet dominated by hackneyed people. How does it sound that even the former National Chairman of the PDP, Audu Ogbeh is part of the “change” team?
In any case, with the way things are going, many of the “noise makers” will soon resign. This is because they will be functioning under permanent secretaries. Buhari has said that the permanent secretaries would be held responsible for failures in the ministries and not the ministers.
