Kano
state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has advised members of the
youth wing of the APC in the state, to close their ranks, to benefit
from the government’s youth-friendly policies and programmes.
He
said the government intends to ensure that those of them with requisite
qualifications are supported to further their education while others
would be enlisted in the governments’ empowerment programmes to enable
them acquire life-changing skills.
The
governor, who made the assertion during a dinner organized for the
youths as part of the first 100 days celebration of the state
government, on Sunday, at the Government House in Kano, maintained that
the administration is determined to ensure that the youths play more
positive part in nation building.
Dr.
Ganduje urged them to realize that politics in the country has changed
from that of sentiment to that of ideas, asserting that they must remain
focused and goal-oriented to remain relevant in the political arena.
The
governor, who recalled with nostalgia that many of them have been with
him since 1999, urged them to sustain their unity and to rally round his
administration to enable it deliver on its electoral promises.
Earlier,
the state APC chairman, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa explained that the
youth had made tremendous sacrifice towards the success of the immediate
part administration in the state, assuring that the present
administration would carry them along in view of the role expected of
them in moving the state and the party to greater heights.
In
his remarks, spokesman of the APC youth, Babba Yakasai promised to be
good ambassadors of the party at all times, stressing that they would
remain loyal to the Ganduje administration to ensure success of its set
goals.
