Award-winning musician, Darey Art Alade in a post on Instagram
revealed he failed to achieve his dream but is still happy with his life
now.
He shared a throwback picture of himself above with the words;
A man once told me that we
never truly change; we simply grow into the person we’ve always been.
When I think it about it now, I see his point, though I’m tempted to
disagree in part. This photo was taken when I was around 10. At a time I
was more interested in airplanes than music. The music was always there
but whenever I dared to stare at the future, the picture I saw was of
me as an aviation expert.
Haha try picturing me at the local or
international airport; hat in one hand, briefcase in the other, flanked
on both sides by my female crew but it wasn’t just about the swag, the
appeal for me was always the machine; that beautiful sleek arial beast
made of steel and dreams! I dreamed of flying it, fixing it, building
it… ah sweet memories . Do you have still have any photos of yourself
from when you were about the same age? Please share and tag me. Tell me
the person you wanted to be in that photo and if it’s the same person
you are today. Do people change or do we simply grow into the person
we’ve always been? What are your thoughts? #ChildhoodDreams

Patience Ozokwor, aka Mama G, is a veteran Nigerian actress, who has been in over 200 movies till date.
Early Life
Born on the 25th of March, 1958, Patience comes from a humble family
in Ngwo. She attended the Abimbola Gibson Memorial School, Lagos and
during the heat of the political crisis that later culminated into the
civil war, she had to relocate to Enugu.
She attended Teachers Training College in Afikpo from where she
proceeded to IMT Enugu where she studied Fine and Applied Arts,
specialising in Graphics but she never practiced for one day. Initially,
she never had the intention of joining the film industry and was a
teacher by training where she taught for about four years before
venturing into broadcasting.
She was employed as an announcer with FRCN Enugu and was later
retrenched when they closed down all the medium wave band stations.
Acting Career
Married at 19, Patience Ozokwor left teaching to go into broadcasting
where she was a radio announcer and newscaster. She worked at the
station until it closed down. Undeterred, she went on to another
broadcasting facility where she began to do radio dramas.

Her first sojourn into acting began during her teacher training days
in Afikpo, where she was given the role of Hamlet in William
Shakespeare’s play of the same title. The play was so good that they
were invited to stage the play in so many other places in Southeastern
Nigeria. She was very popular then and everywhere she went people were
calling her Hamlet. But after the teachers’ training, she forgot
everything about drama until she went into Radio Nigeria.
Chika Okpala (Chief Zebrudaya of New Masquerades) invited her to take
part in a commercial in which she played the wife of Pete Eneh. The
commercial was a mass orientation promo by the Anambra State Government
to encourage her citizens to acquire education before venturing into
trading.
After the promo was shot, there
was positive reaction from the people, and Chief Zebrudaya himself was
so impressed. Later, when Pete Eneh had the opportunity of shooting a
serial (Someone Cares) for a television station, he gave her the lead
role. During the shooting of the serial, many of the established faces
that saw her commended her.
She shot into limelight with the movie Authority in 1999 and has since featured in over 200 movies with leading Nollywood stars.
The Mother Of Nollywood
For a long time now, people have started calling her Mother Africa as
she has played the role of a mother to almost every prominent actor in
Nollywood and has nurtured many upocoming acts.
The Loss of Her Husband
Patience lost her husband a few years ago to a terminal disease and
adopted a child in addition to her three to help her get through it.

Popular musician, Yinka Ayefele, is reported to have narrowly escaped
death over the weekend at Ijare area of Ondo State as some hoodlums
vandalized his vehicles and musical instruments.
Some of his band boys, were not as lucky as they were beaten silly
when the hoodlums discovered Yinka had escaped from the scene of a party
in the town.
The genesis of the fight stemmed from the fact that Ayefele got N3
million for the performance and could not drop anything for the local
boys in the town.
Reports had it that about 15 persons were wounded as the hoodlums
vent their anger on those invited to a burial ceremony held at Odo Oja
street in the town.
Ayefele who was in the town to perform at the burial of 85-year-old
Madam Ebunoluwa, was reportedly smuggled out as the hoodlums went wild
due to his refusal to settle them for performing in the town.
Eyewitness account said the hoodlums reportedly sent their leader to
Ayefele band leader to ask for the “ boys settlement” but was turned
down.
Sensing that the hoodlums were poised for a showdown, the band leader
pleaded with them to exercise patience till the end of the party when
their boss would be informed.
Vanguard reported that the hoodlums placed themselves in
strategic positions to be able to monitor the movement of the musician
and became unruly when they were later told that their boss turned down
their request.
Tables and chairs were reportedly damaged, while bottles were
recklessly broken by the rampaging hoodlums. Ayefele was, thereafter,
smuggled out of the venue of the party as the hoodlums surged towards
where he was staying ( back stage).
A spokesman of the state police command, Femi Joseph, said there was no official report of the incident.
But a police officer at Ijare, told Vanguard that the timely intervention of policemen in the town saved the situation from degenerating into a full blown crisis.

Popular Yoruba actress, Liz Anjorin has not only fired back at
reports she is now broke but in an interview with Punch, revealed she is
the first Yoruba actress to have moved to Lekki.
Hear her,
“I have three solid cars. I drive an Envogue, a Chrysler and an
Xterra. I am even about buying the fourth car. How would anybody think I
am broke? I am almost tempted to curse all those peddling this rumour
about me. They are just crazy people.
“I don’t have a paraga shop. I don’t know where they got the
story from. Of all the actresses that have clothing business, just three
dresses from my shop would just be equal to the amount they spent on
their shops. My shop is worth well over N80m. Can any paraga seller
afford the things I wear? I don’t want to brag but people should respect
themselves.
“I think an enemy of progress is spreading this news. Anybody who
doesn’t like me should go and hug a transformer. I just shot a soap
recently; I also released a video. If I am broke, would I be spending
millions on these projects?
“I have never borrowed money from anybody. I am living large, I
live at Ikoyi. I was the first Yoruba actress to have lived at Lekki
Phase One (Lagos). I am the first to have a shop. On top of it all, I am
a very pretty girl, I can never be poor. Even without me working, I can
never be poor. I can only be broke if there is no God,” she said.
