GANA CHARGES PERSONNEL, GIVES PACKAGE TO PRIVATE GUARD COMPANIES



Welcoming Officers and Men into the new year 2016 at the Corps National Headquarters Abuja, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps , Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has charged the personnel  to be dedicated and committed in the discharge of their duties and ensure effective execution of the Corps mandate, especially in the protection of Critical Infrastructure and National assets.
According to the CG, "I sincerely appreciate and salute your gallant efforts, doggedness  and courage in the course of your service to the Nation, you have risen up to the challenge, making various degrees of sacrifice in the defence of our constitutional mandate. It is paramount that we redouble our commitment to duty, professionalism and support for Government programmes at all time".
He urges personnel to shun all acts of corrupt indulgencies and negative tendencies that may affect their productivity, encouraging them to live and embrace the highest ethical and professional standards.
Gana seized the opportunity to appreciate the Civil Populace for the confidence reposed on the Corps and cautioned them to desist from patronizing illegal Private Guard Companies , taking into cognisance the present Security challenges in the country.
He therefore, admonished the citizenry  to always be vigilant, to report any strange face(s) or act that may negate the safety of the populace to relevant security Agencies closest to them.
 Abdullahi unfolded his new year package to the  Private Guard companies by offering them and their personnel free training to enhance capacity building in the Civil Defence College of Security Management, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Civil Defence helmsman made it point clear  that the Corps will not tolerate illegality, sabotage and espionage among the PGCs, stating that the NSCDC is ready to prosecute any Private Guard Company found wanting in the discharge of their duty , charging them also, that failure on their part to submit security reports in their domain of operations will lead to the withdrawal of their licenses.
Gana implored them to work hand in hand with Security Agencies nationwide and report appropriately any act inimical to the Security of life and property of the citizenry.
The CG wished all Nigerians a very prosperous new year 2016.
