“Oliseh no longer feels safe being in Nigeria. Recall that all through the team’s camping for CHAN 2016 in Abuja, he refused to show up but was the first to hit South Africa for the second phase of camping in Pretoria. After his team lost out of CHAN, he left for Belgium on the excuse that he had to go and continue treatment for his flu. That action speaks volumes about his fears.”Reacting to the allegation that Oliseh’s life is in danger, NFF spokeman, Ademola Olajire said there is no truth about the rumour. “Did Oliseh not grow up here in Nigeria, so why would he be afraid of anyone in Nigeria? Agreed that Nigerians are very passionate about football and would castigate any coach that does not produce results but that is not enough for anyone to insinuate that his life is in danger. The reason for his travelling back to Belgium is to continue with his treatment for the flu,” Olajire stated. It is recalled that coach Sunday Oliseh was flown out to Belgium to see his personal physician as a result of his deteriorating health condition on October 25, 2015. A close source to the coach at that time was quoted as saying: “As I speak with you now Oliseh has left the Port Harcourt camp of the Super Eagles and has been hurriedly flown to Belgium via Lufthansa. Oliseh’s health condition has really worsened. “I have never seen Oliseh in this very worrisome health situation like this since about three decades that I have been close to him. I am praying fervently to Almighty God to save him and give him speedy recovery.” |

President of the Actors Guild Of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberesima might be looking at five years in jail anytime soon. The Lagos state Court of Appeal has reserved judgement in the appeal filed by actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima-Egbuka, challenging the judgement of a Lagos High Court which sentenced her to five years imprisonment for the death of one Dr. Giwa Suraj. Ibinabo Fibersima was sentenced to five years imprisonment by Justice Deborah Oluwayemi of a Lagos state High Court for reckless driving which caused the death of Dr. Giwa Suraj in a car accident along the Lekki-Epe expressway, Lagos on February 26th 2006. But, dissatisfied by the ruling of the High court, Ibinabo Fiberesima filed an appeal through her counsel, challenging the decision of the Lagos state high court to quash a N100, 000 fine without prison time, given to her by an Igbosere High Court. Still not satisfied by the judgement of the Magistrate court, the Lagos state government then approached the High Court who quashed the verdict of the Magistrate court and sentenced Ibinabo to 5 years imprisonment. The actress who has been slammed with a five-year sentence which she challenged at the Court of Appeal, asking that they revert to the Magistrate Court ruling and has now appealed the judgement of the High court. At the hearing of the appeal today January 28th, the appellate court presided over by Justice Ndukwe-Anyanwu, reserved judgement in the appeal after counsel adopted their written addresses. The court directed that Ibinabo who was not in court, should be present when judgement is to be delivered, adding that the date of judgment would be communicated to the parties. |
