The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil
Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has expressed satisfaction at
the performance of the NSCDC personnel at the just concluded Bayelsa State
re-run election. He also commended INEC, the Police and other Security Agencies
for a job well done.
Gana who made this declaration at the Corps National
Headquarters, in Abuja, noted that there is no perfect society in the world,
highlighting that though, there were some skirmishes during the election, but
the overall performance of INEC and the
Security Agencies is highly commendable.
According to the NSCDC helmsman, "I really appreciate
the efforts of my personnel, INEC, the Police and other Security Agencies who
worked together to make the Bayelsa State Governorship re-run election a huge
success. I trust that this synergy exhibited will continue to enable us
actualize our collective aim in having a very secured society".
Abdullahi seized the opportunity to call on the Corps
personnel that they have started well in this New Year 2016, that they should
have in mind that many works await them as the days are passing by.
He admonished the personnel that dedication and commitment
in the discharge of their duties at all times will yield the desired result expected
as they march on in this New Year. The CEO charged them to shun corruption but
remain focus welfare of officers and men, remain his primary concern, promising
that on his part, he will work tirelessly to make them happy as a labourer is
worthy of his wage. Emphasizing that, based on the Federal Government's
resolved in providing and supporting the service at all times as spelt out in
the Honourable Minister's New Year ménage, there is need for justification of
the Corps' mandate and resources expended by the FG.
The leader of the NSCDC once again wished his Officers and
Men a very happy prosperous blessed New Year 2016.
