
Nigeria’s entertainment industry is littered with beauty queens who
once wore a sash and a tiara. But, it’s also common knowledge that the
popularity of most of this beauty queens decline drastically
immediately after their reigns.
But some have been able to remain in our entertainment industry and have gone on to become big names and well-known faces.
Below is a list of former beauty queens who still rock the entertainment industry:
1. Agbani Darego

The first black woman to win the coveted title of Miss World, Agbani
Darego has carved a niche for herself in the entertainment industry home
and abroad.
The former L’Oreal international model has a successful modelling
career and is now a beauty entrepreneur with her fashion line ‘AD.
2. Anna Banner

Anna Banner is one popular screen goddess we can’t miss. She
represented Bayelsa state and won the MBGN in 2013. She has also delved
into acting which helps her remain in the limelight.
3. Dabota Lawanson-Aku

Former Miss Nigeria UK turned billionaire wife, Dabota Lawanson-Aku
is an actress, model and the CEO of Diamond Inc (PR & Event Mgnt).
She is a well known beauty entrepreneur and her clientele runs deep in
the industry.
4. Munachi Abii

Awww! Former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, 2007 has won the hearts
of many Nigerians with her talent. The beauty is currently a rap /
hip-hop artist, songwriter, television presenter and model who performs
under the name Muna.
5. Nike Oshinowo

Crowned Most Beautiful Girl Nigeria back in 1991. Nike is a Nigerian
talk show host, socialite, fitness expert, ambassador, entrepreneur,
former pageant director and style icon.
With all this qualities, Nike is defintly here to stay!
6. Omowunmi Akinnifesi

Known for her beauty, Poise and brains, Omowunmi Akinnifesi won the
Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria crown 2005, Miss World beauty pageant in
China 2005, Miss Tourism international in Ukraine 2005 and ever since
she hasn’t slowed down a bit.
In 2009, she was appointed environmental ambassador by Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola.
She runs her own public relations and ushering outfit “Elle Poise” and is a style icon.
7. REGINA ASKIA-WILLIAMS

Former beauty queen, Regina Askia took over from Bianca Onoh Ojukwu
in 1989 when she resigned halfway through her reign. Regina went on to
become one of the pioneering actors in Nollywood and today she is
a Nigerian-born, American-based registered nurse, healthcare and
educational activist, television producer, writer, and public speaker.
She featured in many Nollywood movies, most times taking the lead roles.
She has won several awards including the Best Actress, Nigeria in the
year 2000 byAfro Hollywood London.
She also has her own fashion label Regine Fashions.
