KANO TO WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ABU ZARIA - GANDUJE
Governor
Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has said that his administration
would partner with Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University,
to train its civil servants to meet contemporary challenges.
The
governor stated this when the Director of the Institute, Dr. Muhammad
Bello Uthman led some of its management staff to pay a courtesy on call
to his office, adding as the government gradually transit to
e-governance, workers must be trained accordingly.
“Modern
administration is all about efficiency not quantity of workers. We
must, therefore, train our workers to ensure efficient service
delivery”, the governor maintained.
In
this connection, he advised the institute to initiate training proposal
and liaise with the office of the state Head of Civil Service, for the
government’s consideration.
In
his speech, Director of the Institute, Prof. Bello Muhammad Uthman said
they were in the office to seek for partnership on administrative
courses for the advancement of the state Civil Service, noting that
during the previous administrations in Kano, there were such
collaborations which yielded fruitful result.
In
related development, Dr. Ganduje has also received management of Sudan
Airways, Kano office, who visited him for a possible partnership on Hajj
operation and other areas of mutual benefit. The governor told the
delegation that selection of Hajj Airline Carriers is bestowed on NAHCO,
appealing to them to liaise with the agency for next year’s operation.
Earlier,
an agent of the Airways, Malam Kamilu Ado Medela said the company is
only airline operating in Nigeria that gives 25 percent discount to
students travelling to Sudan, pointing out that they would be glad to
partner with the state government especially in the area of airlift of
pilgrims.
