Bishop Oyedepo Is Uncompromising As He Openly Disapproved Of D’banj’s Regalia At Covenant University Posted: 07 Mar 2017 07:30 AM PST Nigerian artiste, D’banj was reportedly disgraced by Bishop David Oyedepo at a church auditorium in Covenant University, Ota. According to GoldmyneTv; ‘The founder of Living Faith Church worldwide also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop Oyedepo did not get carried away with all the blings and swags of Mohits star, Dapo Oyebanji popularly known as D’banj when they came in contact. We learnt that D’banj was recently contacted to perform at a Youth Programme in Covenant University where the Bishop was also a special guest of honour. Those present at the event said when D’banj was introduced by MC to mount the stage for his performance, D’banj appeared on stage in his normal bling-bling mode of dressing and when he was introducing his song, the highly respected Bishop Oyedepo stopped him. According to eye witness account, we were told that the Bishop’s gesture took everyone by surprise when he ordered the ‘Fall in Love’ crooner to stop his performance. It was learnt that the Bishop while trying to maintain the good standard of Christianity, told D’banj to remove the entire bling on his neck and to be cautious of what he’d say on stage. He has also published book chapters and many articles in some of the most prestigious journals of social science and humanities scholarship. My mother went the extra mile as much as she could, to make sure my sister and I got the best. Growing up, there were times when we could only afford a meal a day. (Mmmm, story for another day) That one meal must be a balanced diet , no matter how small it was. I remember how hard it was getting into Queen’s college back then. She would leave home in the mornings and come back late at night, seeing everybody who could make it possible. I had to go to a public school for the first year ( me I had lost hope) until my admission came in for my 2nd year. University was the same, how she single handedly paid my fees in Bowen University till today is a mystery. She can hustle sha. She is very gentle, but her spirit is so strong. She hardly ever sleeps through the night. She taught us how to get up and pray when others are asleep. I have learnt a lot from her. Even from some of the mistakes she made that she will always talk about. I love you mummy. (Even though we fight like hell ) May the rest of your life be filled with immeasurable joy now and forever.
