Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!
I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.
Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord,
he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and
the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his
courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down
from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due
to change.
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you
will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put
on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at
the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than
they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his
span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the
lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I
tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of
these. ...
You will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord,
for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you
might comfort me. “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will
not be afraid; for the Lord God
is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” With joy
you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And you will say in
that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. ...
Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High,
Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise
to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.
What shall I render to the Lord for all his benefits to me?
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods,
for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of
lords, for his steadfast love endures forever; to him who alone does
great wonders, for his steadfast love endures forever; to him who by
understanding made the heavens, for his steadfast love endures forever;
...
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us
make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his
presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs
of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a
great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the
heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land. ...
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal
procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him
everywhere.
Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for
those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the
sight of the children of mankind!
“And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings that one may offer to the Lord.
If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the
thanksgiving sacrifice unleavened loaves mixed with oil, unleavened
wafers smeared with oil, and loaves of fine flour well mixed with oil.
With the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving he shall
bring his offering with loaves of leavened bread. And from it he shall
offer one loaf from each offering, as a gift to the Lord.
It shall belong to the priest who throws the blood of the peace
offerings. And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for
thanksgiving shall be eaten on the day of his offering. He shall not
leave any of it until the morning.
A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath. It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast
love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the
lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep! ...
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits,
The living, the living, he thanks you, as I do this day; the father makes known to the children your faithfulness. The Lord will save me, and we will play my music on stringed instruments all the days of our lives, at the house of the Lord.
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord,
O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your
iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the
pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you
with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
“Take care lest you forget the Lord your
God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes,
which I command you today, lest, when you have eaten and are full and
have built good houses and live in them, and when your herds and flocks
multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is
multiplied, then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery,
Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down,
shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the
measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord
Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks
for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of
revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts
enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called
you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply
and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your
righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every
way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the
ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints
but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. By their approval
of this service, they will glorify God because of your submission
flowing from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity
of your contribution for them and for all others, while they long for
you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you.
...
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to
present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God,
which is your spiritual worship.
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the
shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry,
for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of
the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to
the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no
longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by
every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful
schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every
way into him who is the head, into Christ, ...
Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be
cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls,
I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving. This will please the Lord more than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor
stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his
delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his
law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of
water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like
chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in
the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; ...
Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard,
lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels
proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a
just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great
salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to
us by those who heard, while God also bore witness by signs and wonders
and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed
according to his will. Now it was not to angels that God subjected the
world to come, of which we are speaking. ...
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart
from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings
of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are
seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God
created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know
the truth.
Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!
For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and
more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.
To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Psalm of Asaph. A
Song. We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is
near. We recount your wondrous deeds.
Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make
melody to our God on the lyre! He covers the heavens with clouds; he
prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills. He gives
to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry.
A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath. It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night,
And they were to stand every morning, thanking and praising the Lord, and likewise at evening,
Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and the judgments he uttered,
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
Moreover, in addition to all that I have provided for the holy
house, I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, and because of my
devotion to the house of my God I give it to the house of my God:
Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be
shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence
and awe,
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and
admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of
the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land. ...
Wondrously show your steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at your right hand.
You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual
house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices
acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. O Lord,
you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I
rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and
my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is
on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. ...
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to
another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
