PDP Demands Apology From Dakuku Peterside …Threatens Legal Action

False Accusation Against  Bro. Felix Obuah

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded full and unreserved apology from the defeated All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2015 election and Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) , Mr. Dakuku Adol Peterside, following false accusation against the person of the State Chairman of PDP, Bro. Felix Obuah,  that he (Obuah) attempted to inject poisonous substances on one Atonyesia Peterside, (Dakuku Peterside’s cousin), who was arrested for printing fake INEC result sheets and other sensitive electoral materials in preparation for the rescheduled re-run legislative elections in the State on December 10, 2016.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the PDP Chairman on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam, the party gives Mr. Dakuku Peterside 48 hours to comply with its demand or face legal action.

The Party said it considered the action of Dakuku Peterside as an affront, criminal libel, height of disrespect, defamation of the character of Bro. Obuah and act capable of causing breach of the peace in the State, noting that it took the respected PDP Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah, many years to build the name and integrity which is so dearly cherished by people within and outside the State, and would be unfair allowing Mr. Dakuku Peterside, whose childish and premature attitude made him to tell the world that he came from a family of warriors, rather than a responsible background, to cause such aspersion on a man of high esteem and virtues.

“Mr. Dakuku Adol Peterside’s false accusation against Bro. Felix Obuah is unacceptable.  We are talking about the Chairman of the PDP in Rivers State; a man with a high pedigree and unflinching integrity; a man who would not hurt a fly, talk of plotting to take someone’s life”, the Party stated.

The PDP frowned at Mr. Peterside’s constant uncivilized attitude and for defaming the character of Bro. Obuah, whose contributions to humanity and the party is legendary.

It is well known that Bro. Obuah’s philanthropic gestures and humanitarian services know no bound, having severally donated to the cause of the poor and less privileged in society, offered employment to thousands of Rivers people in his private business outfits and government agencies.  He has built places of worship for many religious bodies and is also popularly called ‘Go Round’ because of his benevolence”, the party declared.

The Party reminded Mr. Dakuku Peterside of the adage which says that ‘a child who respects elders would live long and also be respected’, urging the ill-fated APC candidate  to heed to the wise counsel of the elders, if he hopes to live long and reach the heights attained by Bro. Felix Obuah.
