 A 26-year-old Nigerian lady named Kelechi Anyadiegwu who lives in New York, has become a viral internet sensation. Her business idea which led to the birth of online African clothing store Zuva allowed her to invest $500 into what, at the time, seemed like a small effort. However, two years down the line, her small business has raked in about $2 million in sales earning her a spot on Forbes’ 30 under 30 list. Here is what CNN had to say about this incredible Nigerian entrepreneur: What started with a compliment turned one young woman’s idea into a million dollar business. When Kelechi Anyadiegwu started her online African clothing store Zuvaa with $500 two years ago, her idea was to share African-inspired designs with consumers around the world. Zuvaa is estimated to make $2 million in sales in 2016. After receiving a compliment on her outfit, the tech savvy 24-year-old bought a domain name and started social media accounts.   “I didn’t really know what I was getting into, I just had a vision and I was excited about where that would take me,” New York-based Anyadiegwu told CNN in an interview. “As a women of Nigerian descent, I grew up with African prints and fabrics. I loved wearing African inspired designs, and whenever I did wear these pieces, people wanted to know how they could also shop African inspired prints.” Instead of just referring these curious customers on to the designers she knew, Anyadiegwu saw a business opportunity.  “I decided to use my skills in social media marketing and onlinecommunity building, to create a platform that would provide more exposure for the talented African-inspired fashion designers I knew existed around the world,” she said. Things got pretty heated yesterday
between Cool FM OAP, Daddy Freeze and popular blogger, Noble Igwe after
Freeze mentioned Noble Igwe’s wife, Chioma in a post stating his
preference for women who can cook for him.
A few days ago, Igwe got into a war of
words with fans on social media after revealing that he had an
arrangement with his wife that allows him to eat in restaurants whenever
his wife is not feeling up to the task. He noted that he strongly
believes he does not need to stress his lady unnecessarily calling her
‘Wife not cook’.
Daddy Freeze yesterday took to social
media to talk about Noble’s arrangement with his wife stating his own
preference in women and that was when things got ugly as Noble came
after him guns blazing.
He wrote, “You, Freeze, you really did a
post about my wife on Instagram. How about a lil respect for yourself
and your family?” Igwe came swinging. “I am part of the very few that
still have respect for you. Using me for your Instagram comments is too
low,” he finished.
Daddy Freeze, sensing trouble on the
horizon, replied, “Meant no disrespect bro. Said your wife was beautiful
and it was great the way you defended her.”
Both men eventually made peace and all was well once again.

X3M Music songstress, Simi recently shared lovely new photos in a sizzling yellow dress at a photo shoot.
Simi’s incredible vocals have put her on
the map as far as the Nigerian music scene is concerned. In a recent
chat with Punch, the singer who is known to collaborate frequently with
comic rapper, Falz, attributed her success to realising she has to ‘work
harder as a woman’. The X3M music signee spoke on the challenge she has
encountered on her musical journey and how she has been able to weather
the storm.
She said, ‘It’s very difficult for an
artiste to succeed independently before he or she is signed on with a
label. This is because having a successful music career is capital
intensive. The ability to keep my head straight at times when it seems
as though I am wasting time, is no walk in the park’.
‘There are so many talented artistes
competing for the top spot, so keeping faith alive is hard. Coming and
breaking into mainstream music is also hard. I recently realised that I
have to work harder as a woman because I can’t afford to make any
excuses,’ the Love Don’t Care crooner said.

 Reports in the media have it that plans for the burial of late football legend, Stephen Keshi may have been mired by lack of funds. According to Sports Vanguard, there are allegedly no funds to enable the burial planning committee meet and even to carry out the burial activities proper. Keshi died in Edo State last month after a suffering from a very brief illness, and the Nigerian Federal Government fixed his burial for July 27, 28 and 29, with a committee chaired by the Permanent Secretary in the Youth and Sports Ministry already set up. Sources also disclose that Sports Minister, Barr Solomon Dalung, who has been hard at work sourcing for funds for the Nigerian contingent to the Rio 2016 Olympics is still unable to find a way to demand for funds for Keshi’s burial, estimated to cost about N30million from the Federal Government. A source told Vanguard, “This is an extra-budgetary matter and we have to be patient with the Presidency. “Having captained the national team for nearly 15years, winning the Nations Cup as captain and coach, Keshi deserves a hero’s burial and the Federal Government will do it but funds have been hindering us”, added another committee member. Dalung had vowed to give Keshi a befitting burial as a beacon of hope to today’s youths that if they serve Nigeria well in any endeavour, their country will never forget them and will reward them abundantly even when they are no longer alive. Now it seems the economic hardships and cost cutting efforts of the government may hugely affect the burial plans of the late soccer icon.
