Real Madrid soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo has emerged the highest-paid athlete in the world according Forbes.
The Portugese born striker is the first footballer to ever top the
annual list of the world’s 100 highest-paid athletes, having earned $88m

On Monday, it was revealed by Forbes that
tennis star, Serena Williams has emerged the highest paid female
athlete in the world topping Maria Sharapova who was the previous holder
of that title.
Serena raked in $28.9 million in prize
money and endorsements over the last one year. The world No. 1 won three
Grand Slams in 2015, reached the final of the year’s first two Slam
events and added a major endorsement deal with Chase.
Serena, who is the younger sister of
Venus Williams, also recently emerged the cover star of the July issue
of Glamour magazine. Decked in a white Wolford bodysuit paired with an
off-white Virgil Abloh jacket, the 34-year-old star showed off her
killer physique as she struck lovely poses for the for the cover shot.
Sharapova who formerly the world’s
highest paid female athlete lost lucrative endorsement deals with Nike,
American Express, Porsche and TAG Heuer due to her recent doping
scandal. She pulled in $21.9 million, down nearly $8 million from last
year.

 The family of beloved Nollywood actress, Henrietta Kosoko who passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, has announced Friday, June 10, for her burial which will take place at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos according to a report by Encomium. The burial arragements announcement, signed by Akeem Kosoko and Abbey Lanre, listed Thursday, June 9, for wake keep and artistes’ performance from 4 till 9 pm, at LTV 8, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos Henrietta Kosoko was said to have slumped and died at her Bariga home at about 10 am that day. Stephen Keshi was one man who achieved a
number of feats in his lifetime that are extremely noteworthy. His foray
into the African football circle earned him many accolades and endeared
him to numerous people both within and outside of the country. A lot of
people do not even remember how incredible this great man was so we
decided to shine some light on three times Keshi earned and cemented the
title of legend, something he truly was.
1. Clinching the 1994 Nations Cup trophy
Keshi captained the Super Eagles team,
which had the likes of Sunday Oliseh, Austin Eguavoen, Samson Siasia,
Daniel Amokachi, Rashidi Yekini and JJ Okocha as members. They went on
to win the popular 1994 nations cup, something that warmed the hearts of
Nigerians far and wide and renewed our patriotism.One would recall
that, before then, Nigeria hadn’t won the trophy since 1980 when the
Green Eagles won the nation’s first ever continental trophy.
2). Helping Togo qualify for the World Cup
While coaching the Togolese national
team, Keshi helped qualify a relatively unknown and untested team for
the country’s first ever world cup appearance in 2006.
He achieved this from a qualification group that had heavy African titans like Senegal and Mali.
3). Keshi won Nigeria her 3rd Nations Cup Trophy
On February 13,2013, Stephen Keshi, while
spearheading the affairs of the Nigerian national team, steered the
country to win its third nations cup trophy ever. Achieving this made
him the second person apart from Mahmoud El- Gohary, to win the trophy
as a player and a coach.
Other notable feats by Keshi include:
Being the longest reigning captain of the national team. He captained the team for 13 years from 1981-1994.
He was the second black coach to win the Africa Cup of Nations since YEO Martial won it for Cote d’Ivoire in the year 1992.
Keshi was a superb tactician and national treasure. He will forever be remembered.

18 years after the death of former
military head of state, Gen. Sani Abacha, his daughter, Fatima Gumsu
Abacha has expressed her fond memories of her dad and how much she
misses him.
She took to Instagram to send out a
loving shout out to him praising him for having a big and caring heart.
She also said he always had the best interest of Nigeria at heart.
She wrote:
18 years since you left us. May
aljannah firdaus be your final abode. .Amin. ..I miss you everyday with
time i see so much of you in me.. never believed when ppl say we look
alike
 …I am proud to be your daughter.
I will do everything in my power to
uphold our name…you were loving and caring. You always wanted the best
