The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has declared that
the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has no immunity clause against
investigation by the commission.
Spokesman of the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwajaren made the
assertion while reacting to the action of the commission to freeze
Fayose’s bank account.
Recall that Fayose had on Monday revealed how he was unable to
conduct financial transactions at a Zenith Bank branch in Ado-Ekiti, the
state capital because the anti-graft agency had frozen his account.
But confirming the action, Uwajaren said, “It is true that we have
frozen Governor Fayose’s account in connection with an ongoing
investigation. We will soon release the details of our findings to the
public.
“We froze the account because Fayose has no immunity against investigation.”
