Wizkid Thanks The Nigerian Police For Apprehending His Impersonator Posted: 17 Jun 2016 07:00 AM PDT A few weeks ago, a 200-level Industrial Chemistry student of Delta state university named Ifeoma was apprehended along with her accomplices for allegedly impersonating Nigerian singer, Wizkid. In a recent chat with Guardian, the Nigerian pop star noted the arrest as a welcome development adding that the cas would be followed up in court. He said, ‘I am very thankful to the Nigeria police for what they did for me. The case has been going on for a while now, I thank God we have been able to arrest one of the suspects. We would pursue this case to the court and ensure we get justice. ‘The actions of these fraudsters have affected my business worldwide. I still have two cases pending in New York, United States now. There was a particular case of a $45,000 that was collected from a promoter in USA by these fraudsters using my name. There is another case of $25,000.’ Wizkid insisted on getting justice for the culprits, and is thankful he is being exonerated from allegations of fraud by show organisers. ‘I am happy my name is being cleared and I want justice. ‘The situation has affected me psychologically because I was being accused of taking money I knew nothing about. The press also did not believe me so that dampened my morale”, he added. Osas Ajibade Reveals Her Reason For Keeping Her Pregnancy Private Posted: 17 Jun 2016 05:00 AM PDT On the latest issue of Genevieve magazine, Nollywood actress Osas Ajibade explained why she has been secretive regarding details of her pregnancy. She stated that her sister died while expecting and this has made her mother extra cautious of her grandchild still in the womb. She noted that she is aware of the entertainment industry and its tendency towards judgement from people. She said, This is my first child and I do not want people’s opinions or judgement at this time. I want to take back that power from the public and enjoy my pregnancy with all its challenges. Unfortunately, I am aware that this is the industry I signed up for and people will always judge. She further expressed the sensitivity of her current status adding that her mom has a lot of superstitious beliefs about pregnancy and she has decided to carry out all of the aged woman’s instructions knowing her cultural heritage. “It is a very sensitive period for us especially with my older sister passing away from malaria when she was with child. My mum is really protective and she is on board with my keeping this pregnancy a secret,’ she said. Losing a child is not easy on any parent so I understand why she is being protective. She even shared with me some Benin superstitions like putting a pin on my clothes to ward off evil and never telling anyone how far gone I am in my pregnancy and I am following her instructions to the letter. We know the culture we are in. Let’s be real, there are bad belle people out there so to protect this blessing we are going to enjoy this moment privately,” she said. He was yesterday confirmed as the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget Development by the Anambra State House of Assembly. Mark has paid his dues in terms of garnering experience working in government. His skill set is spread across governance, policy formulation, public sector financing, public budget analysis and corporate finance. Mark Okoye and wife He holds a B.Sc. Finance from the prestigious George Washington University, Washington, DC, USA and is an alumnus of several executive education courses and programmes, including Harvard Kennedy School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, Euromoney, Dubai, UAE. Before he was given his present role, he served in his current capacity for a year and eight months in the last administration and he waited for his time to come. Sources disclose that the Anambra State House Assembly previously refused to grant him his new position prior to now because he was deemed ‘under-age’ but once he clocked 30 and after much clamouring, his appointment was made final.
