Davido Covers Fader Magazine, Interesting Facts You Need To Know About Him Posted: 19 Feb 2016 04:15 AM PST Award winning singer, Davido, recently covered the global issue of Fader Magazine, where he talks  about different sides to being a celebrity. The feature titled“How Davido Became African Pop Music’s Fortunate Son”, highlights some very important facts about the 23 year-old singer. Read excerpts from the interview below: On Davido’s House For the past three years, Davido, now 23, has lived in the posh Lagos neighborhood of Lekki, in a three-story house that welcomes a revolving cast of employees, friends, and hangers-on, with imported weed and liquor in constant supply and demand. On a Friday afternoon in December, he’s sitting on a couch in the home’s top-floor lounge, telling his life story to an audience of a half-dozen people. At Davido’s house, the walls are dominated by portraits of Davido. Most of the pieces, including a five-foot tall Old Masters-style painting, have been painted by fans, who camp outside for as many as three days, waiting for Davido to accept their offerings. On His Family House Davido’s childhood home is just a few minutes’ drive away. Inside, there’s a grand marble staircase, and family photos spanning several generations line the walls of multiple living rooms. (Davido’s godfather, it should be noted, is Aliko Dangote, a construction magnate whose estimated $18 billion net worth has earned him Forbes’ title of Africa’s richest man for the past three years.) On Atlanta Police Raiding His Home, Paid for in Cash “I guess a neighbor must have tried to snitch. They saw me and thought, ‘How did that African get here?’” he says. “How do I explain to someone who’s never heard of me that I’m famous? I showed them all of my videos on YouTube. They loved it.” The Fame For Davido, the result has been a kind of fame for which there are few parallels. When I land at Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos to report this story and discover I don’t have the necessary yellow fever vaccination document required for entry, I successfully drop his name, much to the delight of a middle-aged official who asks me to pass on a message. “God bless our son, Davido,” he says. A couple of days later, Davido performs at the wedding reception of family friends in Lekki’s Lagos Oriental Hotel. His five-song set was offered to the newlyweds by a family member as an ostentatious gift, much like the brand-new Bentley on display elsewhere in the hotel’s ballroom. Afterwards, he attempts to snake out of the hotel through a makeshift exit, his oblong face streaked with sweat. Dozens of young men crowd the wings of the ballroom, undeterred by the armed soldier who is a member of Davido’s everyday security detail. Waiters drop their serving trays for a chance to touch him. Bartenders and ushers abandon their posts. Palms are thrown to faces, temples, and the sky in disbelief. But the wilder the scrum grows, the calmer Davido seems; similar scenes manifest nearly anytime he appears in public, and he’s accustomed to the hysteria. “Sometimes they want money, sometimes they want photos, but sometimes I think they just want me to see them,” he tells me later.

P-square’s house was allegedly stormed this morning and was placed under lock and key after they failed to show up at an event where they were billed to perform despite the fact that they were already paid an alleged sum of N8million by the client. Inside sources revealed that the action was taken by the aggrieved client and P-square’s failure to honour the agreement is said to be related to the current misunderstanding between the group and their management. Peter was said to have driven off angrily this morning as security operatives kept dispersing the crowd that gathered to watch the drama. Before this morning’s drama, the group had allegedly been charged to court 3 times and did not honour it. Jude Okoye has also removed all references to P-square-/Square records from his Twitter bio.

Actress Crystabel Goody Suspended By Actors Guild of Nigeria Over Biting Fellow Actress Posted: 19 Feb 2016 02:00 AM PST The Actors Guild of Nigeria have finally taken steps to discipline actress Crystabel Goody for biting her fellow actress, Princess Chineke on the set of a movie. The National Presidet of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Chief Ibinabo Fiberesima has announced the indefinite suspension of Crystabel Goody for biting a fellow actress Princess Chineke on set. The President condemned the dastardly  act of inflicting such a dangerous bodily injury on her coleague.  She noted that all the Guilds and Associations in Nollywood have been duly notified of the suspension while the National and state task forces have been kept on alert to disengage her from all sets pending when the suspension would be lifted. The Guild has set up a high powered committee headed by the National Chief Whip, Empress Eneh to investigate the immediate and remote  causes of the matter. Meanwhile Crystabel Goody shall remain on suspension until the outcome of the investigation as stipulated by the constitution of the Guild. The  President frowned at the act of cannibalism and urged all members to make discipline their watchword because we are the mirror of the society. Buhari Posted: 19 Feb 2016 12:00 AM PST The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi has emerged as the youngest chancellor in Nigeria with the appointment of the monarch as the chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka by President Mohammadu Buhari. In a statement issued by Yera Moses Olafare, the director of media, Ooni’s palace, President Mohammadu Buhari was commended for recognising Ooni’s efforts to promote unity among Nigerians. The statement said ” Ile Oodua is thankful to the people’s President Mohammadu Buhari of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the appointment of Ooni, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, as the chancellor, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN” , saying the development would further enable the monarch to build more bridges of friendship especially across the Niger. The statement further noted that Oba Ogunwusi was ready to bring to bear, his influence and connections to promote unity and harmonious working relationships in the university. The palace also admonished Nigerians to promote only issues that can foster unity to ensure speedy development rather than playing up their differences. Some time back, the label’s music star,  while Kcee hawked recharge cards on the streets, he met Promise, a shoe – rack hawker from Ebonyi state who had been hawking for over 6 years and promised to help him. In celebration of his day, E-money decided to bless the street with the support of the Five Star music crew  so they went in search of Promise who hawks at ‘Ikeja Along’, Lagos. On getting there, the young man, Promise  and brother had just been picked up by officials of KAI (Kick Against Indiscipline) and transported to their office in Alausa, Ikeja. Kcee and the crew went in search of him at the KAI office and after several hours of pleading, he was released into their custody after signing an undertaking that he will not hawk again. Promise has just been given a brand new Toyota Corolla car courtesy of E-Money as well as the sum of #300,000 to get a new apartment while his brother and fellow hawkers were also given cash.

[Photos] It’s Finally Over – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome And Anita, Finalize Their Divorce Posted: 18 Feb 2016 07:30 AM PST It’s finally over between Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the Senior Pastor of Christ Embassy and his wife, Anita, as their divorce proceeding has been finalized. Anita confirms she is no longer part of Christ Embassy and her UK based solicitors, Attwatters Jameson Hill, have also confirmed the dissolution of their marriage on their website. Anita and Chris Oyakhilome got married in 1991 and have two daughters. See screenshot below:
