What is the True Situation of Buhari's Health ? - CAN

ON THE ABSENCE OF THE PRESIDENT AT FEDERAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING AND THE INFORMATION MINISTER'S NEWS ABOUT PRESIDENT WORKING AT HOME WHILE RESTING.

Its the third time now or so that we have not seen Mr President at the Federal Executive Council Meeting.
We also received with surprise from the Minister of information (if quoted correctly) that the President will be treating files from home while resting. Implying that he will be leading the nation from home. What is the Government taking Nigerians for? Can the minister work for the public from home? Can the members of the National Assembly work in the comfort of their homes for the public? In a turbulent nation like ours is it a possibility that the leader will be working and ''resting''? Some of us are being forced to believe in the fact that there are cables in the Presidency misinforming Nigerians and misguiding the President.
You would recall that CAN, other organisations and individuals had advised the Government to keep Nigerians posted on the health situation of Mr President while praying for his recovery but they wouldn't do. Even the least worker in Nigeria will not be asked to work from home if he/she  is not in condition of good health not to talk of Mr President who holds the busiest office and  is advanced in age.
For us, if the President is down again, let us know and advice him on what to do. If he is well as some of the aids would want us to believe, let him work from the office. I don't think going to office is a choice for any public servant or  those with mandates to serve the people at any level.
We are also sad to read that a serving police officer from Borno State has threatened to kill 200 Nigerians if the President dies. who is going to stop the killing of the innocent Nigerians on the Policeman list? As a mortal being, the President like any other mortal must die. So who will save the potential victims?
We are yet to hear the news of his arrest and prosecution yet other Nigerians have been incarcerated for no serious reasons. We urge the security agencies to do the needful and call on our leaders to fear God and know that God is the giver of power and will not hesitate to act.
As a Church, while we pray for the success of the nation we urge the leaders to purge themselves to avoid inviting the wrath of God upon them.

Evang.(Barr.) Kwamkur Samuel, Director, Legal and Public Affairs, CAN
