Governor Yahaya Bello Saturday announced the constitution of a
judicial panel of inquiry to probe the two preceding administrations in
the state, headed by former Governors Ibrahim Idris and Idris Wada.
The membership of the panel was not disclosed by the governor who made the revelation during the events marking the country’s 56th Independence Day anniversary.
Addressing thousands of supporters at the Confluence Stadium Lokoja
on the occasion marking the 56th independence anniversary of the
country, the governor said despite turbulent experiences the country has
undergone, Nigeria remains indivisible as a result of resilient zeal of
the citizens.
“These past 56 years has been very challenging no doubt, but there
have also been years in which the Nigerian spirit have proved how been
indomitable and resilient we are in keeping the country as one”
The governor who acknowledged that Nigerian was able to be a
sovereign nation as a result of patriotic quest of our past national
leaders, charged every Nigerian to support the government policies at
all levels in order to take the country to an enviable height.
Bello who noted that personal and social reforms transcend mere
rhetoric urged Kogi people to key into “change begins with me” campaign
of President Muhammadu Buhari, stressing that it is not a ploy by the
ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) to renege on its promises.
The governor disclosed that his administration has set up Judicial
Panel of Inquiry charged with the responsibility to review the
activities of the past administrations stressing that whoever is found
culpable will be sanctioned accordance to the law of the land.
While noting that the ongoing staff screening will soon come to an
end, Bello assured Kogi civil servants that no genuine worker of the
will lose their job.
