Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to Protect Railway Facilities, JAMB Offices

NSCDC TO PROTECT RAILWAY FACILITIES, DEPLOYS 1,000 TO NORTH-EAST
The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, says the Nigeria Railway Corporation has requested the Corps to take-over the protection of the 22 stations of the organization across the Nation, in line with its constitutional role as the lead Agency in-charge of the protection of Critical Infrastructure and National Assets in the country, and also to deploy 1,000 Personnel  to the North East to the already 2,300 Personnel on ground to protect the liberated areas and IDPs.

Gana made these disclosures while briefing Officers and Men of the Corps at the National Headquarters, Abuja.

The CG highlighted that the NSCDC will now have a Railway Command to be headed by a Commandant, and gave a tacit directive that all allowances of all Officers and Men to be deployed to the new Command will be paid them directly, asserting vehemently, that the system where Officers and Men who are labouring to bring glory to the NSCDC and are being paid their stipend allowances through a ''middle-man'' is over.

According to the Leader of the Civil Defence, ''The NSCDC is moving on to greater heights and things done for Officers and Men, must be done well, as they labour earnestly for the glory of the Corps. Henceforth, all allowances and any form of stipend to be paid Officers and Men for their labours will be paid them directly''.

Gana, sermonizing, called on Officers and Men to be united and work together as one big family, admonishing that, the terrible behaviour of Officers and Men witch-hunting each other should stop. As this leads
nowhere.

The Corps helmsman disclosed that by November 1,2016, 1,000 Personnel will be deployed to the North East to swell the number of 2,300 Personnel already on ground in the region.

He reiterated, that the Corps within its capacity, is very committed to protecting the Internally Displaced Persons in their various camps and ensure their safety always, as the NSCDC is unflinchingly committed to win the Peace.

Meanwhile, the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Oloyede, has requested the NSCDC to man the JAMB offices in the 36 States of Nigeria, as they have the firm belief that the Corps will deliver.

On this, the Commandant General has directed the Assistant General (ACG) Jonathan Iyagho in-charge of protection of Critical Infrastructure  to liaise with the various State Commandants to deploy 5 Personnel each to JAMB offices nationwide for a start.
