NSCDC GETS INVITE BY MINISTRY OF CIVIL DEFENCE RUSSIA



In utmost quest to position the NSCDC as a world class Federal Government Agency saddled with the mandate to protect the Critical Infrastructure and National Assets, mitigate during disaster of both Natural and Man-made, Regulate the activities of the Private Guard Companies in Nigeria, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, says the collaboration between the NSCDC and Ministry of Civil Defence Russia will grow and grow until it reaches enviable heights.

The CG made this lofty declaration during the courtesy visit by Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic Russia, NIKOLAY UDOVICHENKO who came with his Attachee at the Russian Embassy DENIS BUKSHNAITIS, in his office at the Corps National Headquarters, Abuja.

In his remarks, the Russian Ambassador thanked the CG for the very warm reception he received on arrival at the NSCDC National Headquarters.
NIKOLAY asserted that the Russian Federation through the Ministry of Civil Defence Russia is very delighted to partner with the NSCDC, and that they will stop at nothing to enable the NSCDC succeed in delivering on their mandate in Nigeria, by providing very robust Capacity building for the Personnel of the Corps.
He disclosed that the Ministry of Civil Defence Russia, is made up of 17  functional and active Departments, and believes strongly that the NSCDC will really benefit in the partnership.

The Envoy with pleasure, told the CG that he is being officially invited to Russia, to visit the Russian Civil Defence to discuss and explore ways the needs of the Corps can be met.
Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary NIKOLAY UDEVICHENKO highlighted that the visit of the NSCDC helmsman has already been communicated to the Federal Government and also to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ahead of the visit.

Gana who beamed with joy posited, that he is dignified to welcome the Russian Envoy to the NSCDC, pointing out that his resolve to partner with the Russian Ministry of Civil Defence is to enable him have a very sound and good platform to train his Officers and Men to enable them acquire modern up-to-date skills that will propel them to discharge their statutory duties in Nigeria the way it is done in the advance world.

Abdullahi maintained, that he is very desirous to move the Corps forward. He noted, that the Russian Civil Defence is very active, highlighting that during his earlier courtesy visit to the Russian Embassy where  he tendered some needs and challenges of the NSCDC, that he is very glad that the response from Russia is positive.

The Corps helmsman pointed out that at the appointed time, he will visit Russia with a handful of his Personnel in Disaster Management, earnestly appealing that he wants very good capacity building for his Personnel.
He then asked the Envoy if they can accommodate for training those in Critical Infrastructure and Private Guard Company Departments.
Accepting the invitation to visit Russia, the Leader of the Civil Defence said 'I am honoured to be invited by the Russian Federation. I am pleased to accept the invitation. I will intimate first, my Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Bello Dambazzau, my observation and the invitation to Russia, before I will officially write the letter of acceptance to visit the Federal Ministry of Civil Defence Russia ''.

Muhammadu, going by his open door policy, told the Ambassador that he should take the NSCDC as his second home and is free to visit whenever he so pleases.
