Naeto C and Wife stargist
Popular rap artiste, Naeto C in a recent chat with Saturday Beats explained that one of the reasons he married when he did was to avoid having a baby outside wedlock.
According to the rap artiste:
“I cannot speak for another man but I know sometimes people intentionally want children out of wedlock while other times, it is accidental. Part of the reasons I decided to get married when I did was because I did not want to become a ‘baby daddy.’ I did not want to raise a kid out of wedlock because it is not easy. If I was not married, I would have been more concerned with settling down as opposed to getting a girl pregnant out of wedlock.”
He also refuted claims that marriage affected his career negatively. On the contrary, he believes that marriage brought out the best in him.
Hear him:
“There is no way my marriage affected my music career. I got married in 2012 and that same year, I released my hit song, Tony Montana. The song did a lot for my career. I have released songs with heavyweights like Flavour and Phyno.
I release songs every year that top charts. The truth of the matter is that I am a Nigerian artiste and not a Lagos artiste. We have fans all over Nigeria and the thing with music is that a particular song can be big in the East but it may not be that big in the West and vice versa. Because of this, if you ask a journalist in the West about a song that is big in the East, he may not know much about the song. We need to have a holistic view; some songs that are big in Lagos may not be big in Abuja; some songs that are big in Imo may not be the favourite of those in Ibadan.
I would like to point out that it was when I got married that I became a Glo ambassador for two years, I am a Hudala ambassador now. I think that when people say that marriage affected my career, what they are really trying to say is that ever since I got married, I have not done another song like Ten over Ten. The truth of the matter is that, I cannot do a song like Ten over Ten again the same way Tuface cannot do another song like African Queen; Wande Coal cannot do Bumper to Bumper again and MI cannot do Safe again. That is the way music works. I am happy that the song, Ten over Ten, had a huge impact on my career and my fans,” he said.
He told Saturday Beats that when he announced his intention to get married, he got a lot of messages from ladies who expressed their disappointment about his decision to get married.
“When I wanted to get married, I lost some fans and at the same time, I gained some fans. Some fans like the fact that I am married and responsible; they like the fact that I am a one-man-one-woman kind of guy.
Other female fans don’t like that because they want to keep fantasising about the possibility of becoming my woman one day. I got married because I found a companion, a friend, and someone I want to spend the rest of my life with and raise a family. Marriage made me a better person. The most you can do for your female fans legally is to take pictures with them and keep making hit songs. Anything outside that would be inappropriate.”
On why he married his wife, Nicole.
“In life, there are only a few people you feel you can get things like this from. If I did not make that decision when I did, maybe today I would still be a bachelor. It is just the same thing with my Master’s degree; if I did not study for it when I did, I probably would never get it. Life is about making decisions and securing a future of happiness is the main reason I got married to Nicole.”

toke-makinwa-and-maje-ayida stargist
Last week, it was widely reported that Toke Makinwa and her estranged hubby, Maje Ayinda were fully back together as they were spotted getting cosy at two major events.
And now, Maje doesn’t seem to like the buzz that was created by the media about the whole reunion drama.
A while ago, he took to his Instagram page, advising people to stop judging his life and instead focus on theirs.
He said,
“Every time you judge someone, put them down, criticize them and minimize their efforts, you choose to feed your fears, doubts and limiting beliefs! Fear of failure and rejection is often a reflection of how you view other people’s efforts, failures and achievements rather than a true representation of how you feel. You’re more worried about what others will think and say about you rather than any real sense of fear or failure and that’s because you’re too quick to judge and criticize others! If you judge others and put people down for trying then you absolutely deserve to feel the fear of failure and rejection when you eventually decide to do something with your life……..because instead of encouraging others you made a dis-empowering choice to mock, laugh and criticize those who tried to do something meaningful with their life! It costs you nothing to encourage and support people on their unique journey but it may end up costing you everything if you keep judging others!’’he wrote.

In a bid to recover a debt of N924,788,754.56, a Federal high court in Lagos, has ordered that all accounts belonging to former captain of the Super Eagles, Nwankwo Kanu and his company, The Hardley Apartments anywhere and in any bank or financial institution in Nigeria be frozen pending the hearing of a suit filed against him and his company.
The order of the court was as a result of a debt recovery suit filed by Asset Management Corporation Of Nigeria (AMCON) against the defendants. In an affidavit sworn to by a Credit officer in the Directorate of AMCON Mr Victor Igabor, filed and argued by Barrister Niyi Olopade, the deponent averred that sometime between May, 2008 and January 10,2011 Skye bank offered The Hardley Apartments engaged in business of Hospitality located at Plot 46 Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria island, Lagos a loan of N520,457,000.
The loan was secured by a mortgage on the company’s three blocks of 40 accommodation units estimated in open market value of N395million as well as unconditional personal, joint and several guarantee of Ayoola Gam-Ikon and Nwankwo Kanu. The defendants failed to repay the loan with the accrued interest despite repeated demands, consequent upon which Skye bank Plc assigned the defendants indebtedness in the sum of N558,313,905.37 as at 1st April, 2011 to the AMCON as a toxic bank asset in line with the establishment objective of the said AMCON. Mr Igabor averred further that, this development was communicated to the defendants by Skye bank who admitted their indebtedness but praying that the assignment to AMCON be revoked.
The defendants’ indebtedness as at the 15th October 2015 stood at N924,788,754.56 representing principal and interest while interest is still running. Consequently, Igabor contended that The Hardley Apartments is in imminent of being dissipated, therefore if the application is not granted, Ayoola Gam-Ikon and Nawankwo Kanu could dissipate the assets of the company therefore urged the court to issue interim order of possessing of all movable and immovable properties known as Plot 46 Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria Island.
