President
Muhammadu Buhari has on Sunday sent a very powerful delegation to the
ancient town of Dikwa where some Internally Displaced people IDP's are
presently taking refuge in temporary camps.
The
delegation which was led by the Borno state Governor,Alh Kashim
Shettima included the zonal coordinator of National Emergency Management
Agency Alh Muhammed Kanar. The delegation was received by the Local
Government Chairman, Mohammed Ali Gana who conducted the Governor and
his team round the IDP Camp, Clinic and kitchen among other places.
Shettima
said "I am here as an emissary of President Buhari, we are here to
commiserate with the people of Dikwa, Ngala, Kala-Balge, Mafa and Marte
who have congregated in Dikwa town and to assure you of his unflinching
support and empathy.
"I
bought a message of hope from President Buhari that in Sha Allah all
effort must be on board to see that your communities, your schools and
your infrastructures destroyed by the demented monsters of Boko Haram
would be rebuilt in the new year in the first quarter of 2016 Shettima
further stressed".
Gov.
Shettima commended all stakeholders in the Local Government and other
donor agencies Especially the National Emergency management agency north
east zonal office for their roles in catering for citizens of the state
who have suffered from insurgents attacks.
The Governor was accompanied to the visit by the outgoing GOC of the 7 Division Maj. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun .
NEMA
has been partnering with the Borno state Emergency management agency
and other humanitarian stake holders in the rehabilitation of over 1.5
million individuals and communities affected by insurgency in the north
east region. The agency has been providing providing relief
materials,tents, drugs and medical services to communities recently
liberated from insurgents control.
