 Popular Yoruba actress, Sikiratu Sindodo’s daughter, Naomi is a year older today. The proud mum took to Instagram to share pictures of herself and daughter. Naomi, who bears a striking resemblance to her mother is currently studying Mass Communication at Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State. Sindodo, who recently returned to the movie scene after surviving an illness that confined her to her bed for over two years, had her daughter at the age of 21. More photos below:     |

 The coach of the Nigeria Under-17 football team, Emmanuel Amunike, is among five Nigerians shortlisted for the 2015 Glo/CAF Awards. Amuneke is in contention for the Coach of the Year Award. Also, Nigeria’s Under-17 and the Under-23 team, which recently won the Africa Under-23 Cup of Nations are in contention for national team of the year. The Golden Eaglets duo of Kelechi Nwakali and Victor Osimhen are in the running for the Youth Player of the Year while Azubuike Okechukwu and Etebo Oghenekaro from the U-23 team are in the Most Promising Talent category. Nigeria is also nominated in the Women Player of the Year category where Ngozi Ebere has been shortlisted. The winners will be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala scheduled for Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Abuja, Nigeria.  |

 Popular blogger Linda Ikeji was somewhat called out by social commentator and activist Kayode Ogundamisi for allegedly receiving a lump sum of N240 million from the administration of former president, Goodluck Jonathan. Kayode, who didn’t particularly mention any names, took to Facebook to post a message saying that Dudafa Waripamo, Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to Jonathan, revealed that he gave N240 million to a ‘popular female blogger in Lagos’. While the news quickly spread like wildfire and led to series of interpretations and misinterpretations, Linda Ikeji, assuming Kayode was talking about her, has come out to defend herself. Here is what she posted on her website: “So, social commentator and activist Kayode Ogundamisi tweeted this today…he didn’t mention any names but I am now trending on Twitter. Many assume he’s talking about me…and you can’t blame them really. He said…popular! I’m somewhat popular! He said female.. I’m female…duh! Lol. Nollywood comic actor, Dede One Day
(real name Dedeoneday Onyehide) has sadly passed away. The comedian,
who became known for his ‘Laugh With Me’ series, reportedly died
yesterday from high blood pressure after performing at an event in Abia
State.
The comedian was reported to have
anchored a program for a certain Charles Esonu yesterday in Aba and
later went to perform at another paid event but couldn’t finish the
show as he was rushed to the hospital over blood pressure related issue.
He was later pronounced dead.
Dede has featured in a few Nollywood
movies alongside popular actors such as Mr. Ibu and Chiwetalu Agu. He is
fondly called the ‘comedian with an extra joke’.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
