HAJJ CENTRE OFFICERS CHARGED TO BE ALIVE TO THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES

Kano state government has directed Hajj Center Officers to remain alive to their duties to ensure that this years’ Hajj and subsequent operations are conducted with highness of honesty and transparency.

A statement signed by the Director-General, Media and Communications to the state governor, Baba Halilu Dantiye warned the Center Officers against anymisdemeanor capable of jeopardizing the government’s preparation for the religious exercise.

“Government would not condone diversion of Hajj funds or any form of racketeering by public officials in the conduct of the religious obligation”, the statement emphasized.

It directed the Hajj Center Officers to give priority to prospective pilgrims that made 100 percent payment for the Hajj Seats last year, in the interest of equity and fairness.

The statement reiterated the determination of the Ganduje administration to ensure adequate and quality feeding, logistics, accommodation, and related arrangements towards maximum success of the impending 2016 Hajj operation.

The government however, warned prospective pilgrims against paying their Hajj fares to unauthorized persons or agencies, pointing out that only local government Center Officers have been mandated to receive payments and issue official receiptsto pilgrims.
