Tell Buhari to Face His Responsibilities - PDP to Media Supporters

June 30, 2018

Press Statement

Plateau Killing: Tell Buhari to Face His Responsibility, PDP Advises BMO,
..Says Presidency Seeking to Derail Investigations

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the diversionary allegations by Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) that it sponsored the killings in Plateau State as callous, wicked and obtrusive.

The PDP advised the BMO to stop its hallucinations and tell its principal, President Muhammadu Buhari, to live up to the responsibility of his office by stopping the bloodletting and callous murder of innocent citizens in various parts of our country.

The PDP described as unfortunate and highly condemnable that members of the BMO, if truly they are citizens of Nigeria, could seek to politicize the gruesome killings of compatriots in Plateau and other states, instead of confronting President Buhari and charging him to live up to his billing or assisting him in finding solution to the gruesome daily bloodlettings.

The BMO, out of frustration of its inability to further beguile Nigerians into believing that Buhari is our 21st Century Messiah, is resorting to baseless, lame and political accusations against the PDP.

Thus, the BMO has further confirmed the fears of Nigerians that the Buhari administration is groping and has no concrete plans or strategy to apprehend the killers, safeguard the lives of our citizens and protect the territorial integrity of our dear nation.

We, therefore, urge Nigerians to note the desperate, concerted and sustained moves by the Buhari Presidency, as well as, its chorus boys to politicize the killings and engage in utterances that tend to derail investigations, provide cover for culprits and scuttle efforts by security agencies to apprehend those behind the dastardly act.

Nigerians may recall that on June 25, 2018, immediately the news of the Plateau killing broke, the Presidency, before any security investigation, issued a release wherein it attempted to offer explanations on the killings and tried to blame some persons it referred to as ‘locals’.

On Thursday June 28, 2018, while Nigerians were mourning and urging security agencies to track down the killers, the Presidency, without exhibiting any form of empathy to the bereaved, issued yet another statement, attempting to politicize the killings by making morbid comparisons of those killed under various administrations and stating that “wanton killings had been with us for a while”, a comment that tended to weaken the morale of the security officers.

Nigerians may further recall that President Buhari had, in March this year, directed that anybody who attempted to play politics with the handling of security would be dealt with. We now wonder why his presidency and support group have resorted to attempts to politicize the Plateau killings, a development that has raised suspicions that they have something to hide.

The PDP is compelled to urge security agencies to invite the members of the BMO to provide information as principal witnesses to the carnage that have taken place across our nation.

On our part, the PDP will not deter on its stance to continue to speak out against the bloodletting and killings of innocent Nigerians and to, on behalf of the citizens, hold the Buhari administration accountable in the discharge of the duty vested on it to ensure security of lives and property of our citizenry.

REST AND FIND GOD'S GRACE - Pastor Prince

Daily Grace Inspiration

And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.
Luke 2:40
- JUNE 30 -
REST AND FIND GOD’S GRACE
The verse says that the grace of God was upon Jesus. The Bible also says that where sin abounds, grace abounds much more. (Romans 5:20) And when you put the two together, you may find yourself asking, “If the grace of God was upon Jesus, does it mean that He sinned?”

No, Jesus did not sin. (2 Corinthians 5:21) So there must be another explanation as to why God’s grace was upon Jesus. There must be another explanation as to why someone can abound in God’s grace even when he has not sinned.

Let’s look at the word “grace” when it is first mentioned in the Bible. Genesis 6:8 says that “Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord”. Noah’s name means “rest”. So the verse is telling us that rest found grace. In other words, when you rest, you find grace!

So grace was upon Jesus because His life was a life of rest and trust in His Father. He said, “The Son can do nothing of Himself. He can do only what He sees His Father doing.” (John 5:19)

Likewise, grace comes upon you when you rest and trust God. If you have a wayward child, stop nagging at him and trust God to handle the problem. Say, “Jesus, I commit this boy into Your hands. I cannot control him. You can.” If you have a persistent pain in your body, bring it to the Lord. Say, “Jesus, I hand all my worries about this pain to You. You work on the pain.”

“Pastor Prince, what if nothing happens?”

Honestly, if after you have given the matter to Jesus and nothing happens, what can you do? If Jesus Himself can’t do anything about it, do you think you can? But praise God, once the problem is handed over to Jesus, He can and will do a perfect work of taking care of it for you!

So live a life of rest. Have this attitude and tell the Lord, “I can do nothing of myself. I just rest in You Lord and I trust You.” Beloved, what you will see is the grace of God upon you in every situation of your life!

Buhari Should Resign Now - Cardinal Okogie

UNENDING KILLINGS: Buhari Should Resign Now – Cardinal Okogie
“The number (of Nigerians) killed under your watch, Mr. President, provides more than convincing evidence that the government you lead has failed to secure our lives. You are the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
“If more than three years into your administration, you have been unable to stop these killings, why don’t you seriously consider the option of an honourable renunciation of the presidential seat?
“One of the major factors behind the patent failure of your government is the fact that you are surrounded by men and women who fail to tell you the truth about Nigeria and who shield you from seeing what is happening to the ordinary Nigerians.
“Instead of assisting you in the governance of this country, they insult those whose dissenting opinions you need if you are to succeed.
“How does one explain the fact that under your watch as the Commander-in-Chief, agencies established to maintain law and order, instead of protecting innocent citizens of this country, dissipate their energy running after members of opposing parties? Do you call that democracy?
“No right-thinking person would advocate letting anyone off who has committed a crime. No one is above the law, not even you, Mr. President. That is why the Constitution provides for a process of removing the President.
“That is why the point must also be made that those who contravene the laws of Nigeria be brought to book, irrespective of their political, regional, ethnic or religious affiliation. But the sad reality is: under your watch, that is not what is happening.”
The former President of the CAN faulted the Federal Government for failing to arrest and prosecute leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, who had on several occasions allegedly claimed responsibility for the various attacks on communities.
He said, “A member of the Miyetti Allah appeared on television, justifying as retaliatory the killings in Plateau State. He was not the first member of the Miyetti Allah to make the statement.
“Nigerians are baffled that he has yet to be arrested. Where were those responsible for our security at a time they were needed most?
“Dear President Buhari, I am compelled to write to you again because, since the bloodshed of the first day of this year, there has been more bloodshed in Zamfara State and in the Middle Belt.
“The latest killings in Plateau State make us wonder: where were you, Mr. President, while innocent lives were being wasted in Plateau State? Where were your service chiefs when babies were being ripped out of their mothers’ wombs by men who claim to do so because of their cows?
“While all this happened during the national convention of your party, it would be unfair to insinuate that the latest round of killings had anything to do with your party.
“However, it was scandalous that at about the time innocent Nigerians were being slaughtered like cows in Plateau State last weekend, some members of your party were dancing and feasting at your party’s convention in Abuja, while some were throwing chairs at each other, and some others were exchanging blows.
“That, in itself, points to the absence of democracy in your party, as is the case in virtually all the political parties in Nigeria.”
Okogie also blamed the President for treating the herdsmen with kid gloves, saying, “You described what is going on as a clash between herdsmen and farmers. If the identities of these criminals are not hidden, why has the Nigerian intelligence community, under your watch, failed to prevent them from shedding blood?”

NO MORE DYING TO DO - Copeland

No More Dying to Do
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
– Hebrews 2:9

Death. It’s not a popular topic—even among believers. In fact, a great many are just plain scared of it. Oh yes, they talk about having eternal life. Yet when the devil tries to threaten their earthly survival with sickness or calamity, they panic.

Why? Because they haven’t learned to look at death through God’s eyes. Even though their spirit has been made immortal, they haven’t renewed their minds to include that truth. If they had, when the devil tried to push their panic button, they’d just laugh and say, “You can’t scare me, Devil. I’ve done all the dying I’m ever going to do!”

That’s true, you know. The Word of God says that you, as a born-again believer, are never going to see death (John 8:51). Jesus has been your substitute. He suffered death so you wouldn’t have to. And He was raised from death, Hebrews 2:14-15 says, “Destroy[ing] him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver[ing] them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

If you’ve made Jesus the Lord of your life, the only death you’ll ever experience is behind you now. It occurred the instant you received Christ. At that moment, your old self—the one whose nature was to sin and rebel against God—died. Your body didn’t die, but your spirit man—the real you—died to Satan and all of his works. You became “a new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17), immortal and absolutely incapable of death!

When you’re finished with your work on the earth, you’re not going to die. You’ll simply shed your earthly shell and relocate to a far more glorious place.

Go to the Word and get God’s perspective on death. Make a study of it. Once the reality of your immortality begins to dawn on you, the devil will never be able to threaten you with it again.

Arrest Miyetti Allah Chairman Now - CAN tells FG

PRESS STATEMENT. 28TH JUNE 2018.
NORTHERN CAN CHAIRMAN CALLS FOR ARREST OF NORTH CENTRAL CHAIRMAN OF MIYETTI ALLAH CATTLE BREEDERS ASSOCIATION  DANLADI CIROMA OVER HIS COMMENTS OF PLATEAU KILLINGS FOR QUESTIONING BY SECURITY AGENCIES.

Chairman Northern  Christian Association  of Nigeria in 19 Northern states  and the Federal capital  Territory Rev Yakubu Pam  has called for the arrest  of North Central Chairman  of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association    Danladi Ciroma over his statement in the wake of attacks and Killings of  innocent villagers in Gashishi district  of Barkinladi  Local Government council of Plateau state to the effect that the killing s was because over 300 Fulani cows were stolen by berom  cow rustlers.
Rev Pam in a statement in Jos on Thursday said it was wrong for Ciroma to  attribute  the killing  of Women and children in Barkinladi, Riyom and some other parts of the state by herders to Reprisal  attack for the  rustling of over 300 cows  of the Fulani Herders  in the affected localities  without any proof of evidence .
According the Northern CAN Leader, he is happy that the National leadership of MIYETTI Allah Cattle Breeders through its national secretary USMAN BABA NGELZERMA came out on Thursday morning on Channel television program to disown the statement made  by  DANLADI  CIROMA justifying the killings on the Plateau by Herders against the natives of Plateau .
Pam urged security agencies to immediately invite Ciroma for questioning to get useful information that will help the security agencies in arresting the perpetrators of the Barkinladi massacre that caused outrage within Nigeria and all over the world.
Rev Pam noted that nothing could justify  the senseless  attacks and killings of the locals in parts of Plateau, Benue, Taraba and Zamfara  states by these  elements that have become merchant of death in the Northern part of the Country.
According to him, all well meaning l Nigerians , religious bodies and world leaders have condemned  the evil that was visited on Plateau at the weekend and urged  the Plateau state government  in conjunction  with the federal government not to leave any stone on turned  in bringing  the perpetrators of attacks and killings in Plateau and other parts of the North to book as no one, no matter how highly  connected  should be allowed   to be above the law of the land .
In another development , the Northern Christian leader, called on Plateau state governor ,Simon Lalong as the Father of Plateau state by his position of Governor of the state to treat the incident  of Wednesday Plateau Christian groups that turned VIOLENT  at GOVERNMENT HOUSE with fatherly love and see the ugly incident as one of those things that hoodlums hijack from the planners at any interval.
According Pam, the protest march,  he leant on investigation  was   originally due to be carried  out peacefully by  CAN WOMEN  as Mothers ,but expressed regret that some Youth groups  hijacked it by vandalizing government properties within Rayfield Government House  .
The Northern CAN Leader advised Plateau leaders, Women and Youths to use this period to rally round Governor Lalong administration to proffer solutions to this frequent attacks and killings of Plateau citizens in the state rather pointing accusing fingers against one another.
He advised Governor Lalong to remain resolute in standing in the defense of his people at this trying time of the state.

DEVOTION: WORKING OUT OF REST - Pastor Prince

Daily Grace Inspiration

For we who have believed do enter that rest…
Hebrews 4:3
- JUNE 27 -
WORKING OUT OF REST
Naturally speaking, when we rest, we don’t work. So what does working out of rest mean? Well, let me explain by sharing with you what the Lord had taught me.

Many years ago, when I first started preaching, I would prepare diligently for all my sermons. I fine-tuned my points and made sure that everything was in place. I would think to myself, “Man, I am going to share this...and that…”

But when I preached, I would forget to mention certain points. Because of that, I would get angry with myself. I would tell myself, “That was such a good point. Why didn’t I remember to share it?”

Then, God began to speak to me. He said, “Son, your preaching is not out of rest. It is out of your memory.” What He said next changed my life, not just in the area of preaching, but also in every other area, and I pray that it will bless you too. He said, “Prepare everything you need to. But when you stand in front of the people, whatever you need to say, I will give to you.”

Yes, there must be preparation, whether it is your sermon or sales presentation. I am not telling you to be lazy and just do nothing. You need to prepare, but don’t depend on your preparation. Just trust God and tell yourself that whatever you forget, God wants it forgotten. And whatever you didn’t plan to say but said, it is because God wanted it said. Don’t be stressed out and lose your rest by thinking, “I must know everything! I must remember everything and do everything I have prepared!”

No, believe God and be at rest. When the time comes, whatever you need to know, there and then, God will let you know. Whatever you don’t need to know, you don’t need to know. And don’t worry about what you didn’t say—believe that God didn’t want it said.

My friend, when you live life like that—trusting God and resting in His love for you—you become cool and collected. And when you are peaceful and at rest in Him, what you do prospers!

DEVOTION: God's Medicine - Copeland

God's Medicine
The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
– John 6:63

We’ve seen some tremendous medical breakthroughs in our generation. We’ve seen “miracle drugs” developed that can conquer many kinds of sickness and disease.

But, you know, in the 45-plus years I’ve been a believer, I’ve discovered another, much more effective, kind of medicine: the Word of God. There’s never been a miracle drug that could equal it. God’s medicine is the answer to every need. It is life. It is health. It is the power of God. And if you put it in your heart and act on it, you will be healed.

Sometimes people ask, “If God’s medicine works every time, why are there so many believers who are still sick?” There are two reasons. No. 1, because they don’t take the time to plant the Word concerning healing deeply into their hearts. And No. 2, because they don’t do what that Word tells them to do.

Think of it like this: If a doctor prescribes medicine for you to swallow daily and you decide to rub it on your chest instead, that medicine isn’t going to work for you. You have to follow the instructions and use it properly if you expect to get well, don’t you? In the same way, if you read God’s prescription for health and don’t act on it, you won’t reap any of its benefits.

Proverbs 4:22 says God’s Words are life and health to you. So don’t wait until you get sick to start using them. Start now. Begin to put God’s Word in your heart in abundance and it will be hard for you to get sick. That Word within you will constantly be keeping God’s healing power at work in you.

And don’t worry. There’s no limit to the amount of God’s medicine you can take. You can’t get an overdose. The more you take, the stronger you get.

Start growing strong today.

KILLINGS: Nigerian Security Agencies Are Not Doing Enough - Cleric

FG Should Stop the Killings in the Northcentral – Abuja Baptists
...FG should wake up and do the needful -  CAN Northcentral Chairman

The Nigerian Baptist Convention, FCT Chapter and Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Northcentral zone have condemned in strong terms the ongoing killings in the country particularly the recent killings of over 200 people in Plateau State.

In a swift reaction to the Sunday carnage on the Plateau, the acting President of the FCT Baptist Conference and the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Dr Israel Adelani Akanji for the zone, expressed surprise how herdsmen could attack in three Local government areas for several hours, killing over 200 and the security agencies appeared powerless.

“All right thinking Nigerians should speak against the barbaric killings  in the land. Children, women, youths and aged people are being slaughtered daily. We can no longer be keeping quiet why these are going on. The Federal Government should wake up and do the needful. Those perpatrators must be apprehended immediately.

“Our security agencies are not doing enough to stop these criminals. To worsen the situation, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), according to reports, has come out to justify the killings claiming they are retaliatory attacks for the alleged killing of 300 cows by Berom youths. Are the security agencies telling us that Miyetti Allah members are above the law?

“All these unending killings are telling the whole world that the security system in Nigeria has collapsed and this is a sad commentary on every citizen and the earlier our security agencies do what they are trained to do the better for every one of us. These killings must not continue. We have what it takes to stop the evil if our security agencies wanted to do their jobs,” Dr Akanji said.

Stop these killings, kidnappings - FCT Baptists

In a related development, the FCT Baptist Conference has observed the spate of killings and ravaging of communities in the various states of the Federation by Fulani herdsmen, cattle rustlers, unknown gunmen and kidnappers and urged the Federal government to arrest the situation without fear or favour.

In a communique issued on Tuesday and signed by its President, Rev Dr Akanji and the Public Relations Officer, Rev Adebayo Oladeji after its Third Annual Session held in Kubwa, the Conference resolved that the Federal Government should ensure the release of Leah Sharibu and all other schoolgirls kidnapped in Dapchi, Chibok and other parts of the Northeast of Nigeria.

The Conference also lends its voice to those calling on both the Federal Government and Adamawa State Government against hasty execution of some Christian youths who were sentenced to death for alleged killing of a Fulani boy.

We observed that some five Christian youths have been sentenced to death by High Court in Yola, Adamawa State for alleged killing of a Fulani boy. We called on the Federal Government to intervene in this matter to avert travesty of justice. Killing these youths will only compound the state of insecurity going on in the Northcentral of the country.

The Communique also observed that this year Theme: Moving Forward: Building A Great Nation Through Christian Participation (Proverbs 29:2) is very apt and relevant to our present political situation in Nigeria. It is therefore resolved that all Baptists in particular and Christians in general should register, obtain PVC and come out en masse to vote in the next general election.

Kindly help us to make this information available to the public. Thank You for your understanding and assistance.

Signed
Rev Adebayo Oladeji, PRO, FCT Baptist Conference.

Nigerians Demand Justice, Fairness, Peace and Equity - Gana tells Buhari

Press Statement by Professor Jerry Gana, CON, Ph.D, DD

MR PRESIDENT: NIGERIANS DEMAND JUSTICE, FAIRNESS,
PEACE AND SECURITY

The severe deterioration and very disheartening level of insecurity in our nation today has reached an intolerable height that calls for a total condemnation by all lovers of peace, security, democracy and harmony.

2. The senseless and incessant butchering of human lives and the attendant destruction of homes and properties of the ordinary citizens of Nigeria, from Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Taraba, Adamawa, Zamfara, Kogi, Enugu, Ebonyi, Cross River, States, etc. have gone on for too long, with no concrete plan and clear roadmap to suggest that the federal government has the will and the capacity to resolve these challenges to peace and security. Yet, as our Constitution provides, “the security and welfare of the people is the primary purpose of government” (Section 14 (2b), 1999 Constitution As Amended). This indeed is the bitter truth facing all people of honour and conscience throughout the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The quantum of these despicable bloodletting attacks makes a mockery of the sanctity of human life. This is totally unacceptable and stands vehemently condemned.

3. I hereby join similar voices across the land to call on Mr. President to rise to his moral and constitutional responsibility as the Commander-in-Chief (C-IN-C) to protect Nigerians from these ruthless, inhuman and aggressive attacks against law-abiding citizens. This is his primary responsibility as guaranteed by. The C-in-C must take urgent and decisive steps to put an end to these acts of cruelty and inhumanity. The perpetrators and their sponsors must be arrested, and brought to justice. Surely, this is the essence of the Rule of Law.

4. The citizens of Nigeria deserve full proof guarantee of their safety and security; they seek effective and competent actions to rebuild the confidence that their Leader is capable of defending their citizenship as Nigerians. Mr. President, the buck stops completely on your table. Nigerians expect you to offer the citizens strong assurances backed by concrete actions as a practical demonstration of your sincerity.

5. With the current state of affairs, I fear that our democracy is sliding rapidly into anarchy and hopelessness. As lovers of democracy, we must always be reminded that when truth is absent justice becomes evasive; without justice peace becomes illusive; and without peace genuine democracy becomes impossible. Hence, the nationwide cry for justice, fairness and transparent rule of law, without fear or favour.

6. The security of our people and the safety of our homes cannot be compromised under any guise; be it political, ethnic or religious. The loss of one Nigerian life is a painful loss to all Nigerians.

7. While we mourn the unacceptable deaths of these innocent Nigerians, may I express my deep and sincere condolences to the families, the people and leaders of the affected communities. I pray that their death would ignite a nationwide resolution of never again should precious Nigerian lives be so tragically wasted.

8. May God save Nigeria!!!

Fulani Herdsmen Are Using Sophisticated Weapons - Gov Lalong tells Buhari

*ADDRESS OF HIS EXCELLENCY RT. HON. SIMON BAKO LALONG DURING THE CONDOLENCE VISIT OF HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI GCFR TO PLATEAU STATE ON TUESDAY, 26TH JUNE, 2018 AT THE BANQUET HALL, NEW GOVERNMENT HOUSE, LITTLE RAYFIELD, JOS*

PROTOCOL
(A Minute silence for the souls of the departed)

Mr. President, I welcome you to Jos on your commiseration visit to the people of Plateau State over the unfortunate attacks on helpless citizens of our State in several villages in the Northern Senatorial District of Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp, villages in Gashish District and other villages in Bassa, Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas of the State which preceded the current attacks earlier in the year. This current attack, Your Excellency Mr. President, is very disturbing and alarming because it has left behind in its ugly trail the painful loss of over 200 people, besides the humanitarian challenge confronting thousands of displaced persons whose houses and crops have been burnt and completely destroyed.

Your visit is no doubt comforting, coming less than 24 hours after the visit of Mr. Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo GCON. This visit gives us the confidence to open up the grief in our hearts today, given the punctuation of the peace which we have worked so hard to achieve in the almost three years of our assumption of office. The gory pictures of the killing of innocent citizens, women and children continuous to torment our hearts and its sends the serious message that something drastic needs to be done comprehensively, to nip once and for all the ugly menace of attacks that has come to be associated with suspected Militia Herdsmen. These reoccurring attacks have regrettably open up space for all manners of criminality by criminal elements and conflict merchants, who engage daily in cattle rustling, theft, banditry, gun running and other forms of crimes amongst our citizens.

Mr. President, your Government has made it clear and you have eloquently stated that you will continue to protect and preserve the sanctity of life. Agents of destabilization are however hell bent on making nonsense of the success you have achieved in dealing with internal security threats to our corporate existence as a Nation. Our State is a beneficiary of the several measures put in place; on your instruction, the Nigeria Police has established a new Mobile Police Squadron in the Southern Zone of the State, and the Nigeria Air Force has also established a Rescue Search and Combat Command at Kerang in the Central Senatorial District of Plateau State all in bid to activate crises response time of the Security.

While we are looking forward to the security gains that will emanate from this established Security Bases, we have again been confronted with renewed attacks which have left us with increased man-made humanitarian crises as a result of the condemnable and reprehensible conducts of the haters of our peace and humanity.

Mr. President, your able deputy has conveyed some measures of hope to us, with the pronouncement that a Ten Billion Naira (N10bn) Special Intervention Fund has been set aside as palliative for farmers in flash points of recurring attacks and violent inter-ethnic conflicts that have been ravaged on account of same.

We cannot fail to acknowledge that as an immediate measure, you have directed a military deployment of Artillery Wares, Air Patrol Combat Helicopters, Intelligence Surveillance and Recognizance Air Craft as well as the deployment of a Special Police Intervention Force to be supervised by the DIG Operations. This quick response is deeply appreciated and would be most commendable if as an Operational Response Measure, it brings to an end these attacks and produces the perpetrators for prosecution.

We are concerned as a State that sophisticated weapons used in these attacks, from the evidences on ground and the narrations of victims are not those conventional to our environment for self defense  reflective of a terrorist invasion. It therefore demands a justified response like that which was undertaken to address the Boko Haram Insurgency.

Mr. President, further to the measures already put in place to halt these attacks, I feel obliged to request that you direct security Agencies to immediately commence arms mop up in these areas of conflicts, we subscribe to a house to house and community to community search for illegal weapons that have been stock piled in Plateau State. The current directive of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to all Police Formations to mop up illegal arms must have the activity time-line for the measurement of compliance. This your Excellency, should be done ahead of any resettlement or reintegration plans into communities that have been forcefully evicted and taken over by these Armed herdsmen.

Mr. President, given the number of villages that have been completely ravaged, I wish to re-echo the earlier requests we made as a State for an Emergency Special Intervention Fund to help us reconstruct our ravaged communities. We had argued seriously for the inclusion of Plateau in the North-East Reconstruction fund, but this did not find the favour of the Legislature. Now that you have seen the enormity of the peace building responsibility in our hand, we wish to plead with you to give Plateau State a special consideration in this regards.

A further issue of concern which has exacerbated the situation at hand is the spade of hate speeches that have characterized the narrations surrounding the violent attacks. Some of these statements credited to certain groups and persons are suggestive of a pre-meditated action that is well coordinated. No justification can be given for the spate of attacks we have witnessed neither can there be any justification for the community insulation of crime and ownership of criminals.

We strongly condemn a situation where there is community insulation of crime and the community ownership of criminals. I have stated in my several Press Releases and State Address in the wake of these attacks, that any group or group of persons who set us to inflame and aggravate the current situation will face the full wrath of the law. The blocking of roads and killings of innocent commuters will not be tolerated and security operatives have taken drastic measures to ensure they apprehend any youth involved in this dastardly act.

What is also totally condemnable in these attacks on communities Mr. President, is the burning of places of worship to give it a religious coloration. We are determined not to allow Conflict Merchants to sustain these conflicts through the introduction of religious sentiments into it. Already political opportunists are seeking to draw capital out of it and regrettably, even while the deceased are yet to be committed to mother earth and the grieves of the victims still fresh.

Mr. President, a lot no doubt rest on your shoulder and we can only pray for the wisdom and courage to address all the issues that are begging for your attention in the Country.

As a Rescue Administration of the All Progressives Congress Government which you lead, we wish to assure you that we stand with you, shoulder to shoulder in your efforts to solve the myriad of challenges confronting us as a Nation, in your quest to bequeath to posterity a stable and virile nation.

Once again, I thank you for identifying with our grief as a State and I pledge our total support for your administration as we work together towards the promise land of sustainable peace in Nigeria.

Thank you for your kind attention and God bless Nigeria.

Rt. Hon. Dr. Simon Bako Lalong
Executive Governor

PLATEAU KILLINGS: Afenifere Spits Fire

*Communique of Afenifere General Assembly, 26 June 2018*

The General Assembly of Afenifere met at the Akure home of the Leader, Chief R.F Fasoranti. today.

After exhaustive deliberations on the state of the Nation ,the following communique was adopted:

1, Plateau Genocide and President Buhari's conflict of Interest :Meeting was  devastated  by the genocide that took place in Plateau State on Sunday in which  over 200 deaths occurred by eyewitnesses accounts deaths but the police admitted 100.These wanton killings and official irresponsibility portrays Nigeria as a barbaric entity and we YORUBA  PEOPLE are pained living in the same space with the bestial elements who kill innocent people in cruel manner. The images of little children killed mercilessly with open skulls make anyone with human blood flowing in his or her veins to shrink.
We are further distressed that the response of President Buhari to the murder of hundreds of our citizens did not attract a word of sympathy or regret .
It is very infuriating that the President's response and that of Miyetti Allah appeared to have been authored from the same laptop. The Chairman of North Central zone of Miyetti Allah ,Danladi Ciroma said the attacks were a retaliation for the loss of three hundred cows.Said he "These attacks are retaliatory ....Those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission ...Fulani herdsmen have lost over 300 cows in the last few weeks.....Since these cows were not found ,no one should expect peace in the areas."

President  Buhari who is also the Grand Patron of Miyetti Allah who described the Fulani herdsmen terror as "herdsmen/farmers" clashes "(a case of two fighting but dead bodies only on one side) also repeated the missing cows and even added another charge Miyetti Allah did not remember  "According to information available to the Presidency about one hundred cattle had been rustled by a community in Plateau State,AND SOME HERDSMEN WEREa  KILLED IN THE PROCESS.The state governor,Simon Lalong had had invited the aggrieved groups and pleaded against further action ...Less than forty eight  hours later violence broke out (an euphemism for the word "retaliation" used by Miyetti Allah Chief .
The President used the word "thugs"  thrice to describe protesting residents while admitting that  human life was becoming "increasingly cheap " under his watch without  saying what he is doing to make it worthy or bring the herdsmen who have admitted killing people to book .He also repeated the blame game of "desperate people " causing instability and chaos" in furtherance of the vain attempt by the administration to divert attention from Fulani herdsmen responsible for the serial murders.
Three months ago,we did say that the President is afflicted by conflict of interests as Grand Patron of Miyetti Allah and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria .It is the affliction that has seen him now functioning as a Miiyetti Allah godfather at a time he should be presidential .We asked him and we are calling on him to make a choice between the two.
It is pointless at this stage making any demand on this incorrigible administration .We ask our people to  have special prayers  for the souls of all those killed  and for God to have mercy on Nigeria in  all our mosques on Friday 29th June in our churches on Sunday 1st  of July ,and for Him  to see us through the last few months of this administration .
Politically, Nigerians must now gird  their loins and see the democratic uprooting of this administration as a task that must be done in 2019 so as to save the the country from utter destruction .There is no land where the blood of the innocent is being shed  daily like Nigeria  that can make progress in any area of human endeavor. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

2, RESTRUCTURING IS A NATIONAL AGENDA
At a time when the country as at the verge of collapse as a result of structural defects ,we noted that the President  while receiving Urhobo leaders on Monday was still da missed the popular call for restructuring of the country when he said "Every group asking for restructuring has got their own agenda and I hope it can be accommodated by the constitution "
We say without any reservation to Mr President that the call for restructuring is a selfless call borne out of the need to retrieve Nigeria from the brink of collapse and put It back on track .If the President talks about people with personal agenda on restructuring ,it. Can only be those who insert it in their manifestos to win elections and turn around to say they are getting different definitions of  restructuring after they came to power .
We insist that for the country to move forward and develop ,it has to be restructured into a proper federation .

3, NO PUBLIC FUNDED RANCHES IN YORUBALAND
Meeting rejects the idea of public funded ranches which is an imperialist agenda of cresting Federal Cattle Territories across Nigeria .We insist that Cattle rearing is a private business and the Government has no business getting involved if there was no sinister .No inch of YORUBALAND will be available for such and no Governor should cede any land for such.

PLATEAU KILLINGS: Nollywood Actress Onuoha Blasts Osinbajo

Nollywood Actress, Georgina Onuoha has expressed her doubt on the status of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo. She said she was not exactly sure the Nigerian VP is a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The actress said this while lamenting the recent killings in Plateau which has generated several reactions from Nigerians.
Plateau State Police Command on Sunday confirmed the killing of 86 persons in attacks on Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government.
Also hit were Daffo and Kuba communities in Bokkos Local Government.
Reacting to the killings, Georgina on her Instagram page urged the Vice President to provide military forces to protect citizens, rather than sending condolence messages.
She argued that mere rehabilitation of farmers will not end killings in some parts of the country, saying that a drastic action must be taken.

Quote

“I cannot believe that this man is a pastor and now the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Prof Osinbajo, you cannot serve God and man at the same time. If the root cause of these senseless killings is not addressed, it will keep repeating itself. It’s been blood bathe since this your regime because we are no longer in a democratic nation, so I won’t call it administration. Resettlement and rehabilitation of these farmers are not going to stop these hoodlums from invading again. What happened to use the full force of the Nigerian armed forces to fight against these killers.
“If the non-violent protesters of the Biafra agitators were killed and beaten by the Nigerian Army ordered by your regime, what happens to using that same forces in tackling this menace ravaging our nation. It is time you begin to speak truth to power. Enough is Enough.
“Extending your condolences will not change anything. Protect Nigerians with your military and save them from these herdsmen killing them. You pastors in Nigeria have bastardized religion in Nigeria that even the people have become docile to fake miracles and prayers.
“Fellow Nigerians, go and get your PVC, fasting and prayer points will not count. Only your votes will count. God will not do for man what he has given man the ability to do for himself. Your vote is your power. They’ve used Cambridge Analytical to sow religious tensions and hate amongst us, so that their divide and conquer strategy will work. Don’t allow it this time around. Go and get your PVC. Enough is Enough. Our hearts are with the Plateau State,”

Plateau PDP Condemns the Weekend Killings in Nigeria

TEXT OF PRESS CONFERENCE BY HON. DAMISHI TONSON SANGO, CHAIRMAN, PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP), PLATEAU STATE CHAPTER, TUESDAY, 26TH JUNE 2018

Gentlemen of the Press, Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am addressing you this somber day in our history following yet another sad chapter in our democratic journey and collective struggle, as a people with shared values and common ideals.

It would be recalled that here in this office, while interacting with you in the past, we have had cause to raise some concerns about very disturbing developments in the land.  At each point, we have talked about leadership failure on the part of the APC-led administration at all levels.

For the avoidance of doubt, the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) states very clearly that “the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government, and the participation by people in their government shall be ensured in accordance with the provision of this constitution.”

The implication of the above provision is that any government that does not provide security and welfare for the people has failed and should vacate its office.  This is the case with the present government in the State.

It is a known fact that the State has known no peace in the past two years.  Parts of Bassa, Riyom, Barakin Ladi and Bokkos have remained under siege without any abetment, yet what the Lalong-led administration and its cohorts have consistently told the world is that peace is the best thing that has happened to the people and the land since its inauguration. To confirm their position as a people with conscience deficit, at times when they needed to cry out to their benefactors that all was and is not well, they had gone out dancing naked in the public square singing “peace”, “peace” where none existed. What we have witnessed on the part of the Governor is dead conscience on matters affecting the land and its people, and the sustained pursuit of recognition that has remained elusive.

Lalong and his sponsors were exposed on Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24, 2018 when terrorists laid siege on communities in Gashish, Razak, Ruku, Soi, Ngar, Gana-Ropp all in Barakin Ladi Local Government and Shonong in Riyom Local Government, leaving on their trail over 200 dead persons and several injured, including children and women, and houses burnt down. To confirm their failure a single arrest is yet to be made even after over 48 hours of killings, and this leaves room for suspicion of complicity.  It is most painful when they keep referring to the mayhem as “Fulani/Farmers clash”.

We are concerned about the fact that in the face of these dastardly acts, attempts have been made, and are still being made, to cover up the carnage that took place in these communities.  We are aware that attempts to recover the corpses through the support of the Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, were made with heavy resistance from those who are meant to protect lives and property.  The saddest thing is that following the denial of access to points where people were gruesomely murdered, human bodies are being left to rot in the bush.  As I address you, corpses are still being recovered.  Just yesterday afternoon, bodies of two clergymen, one a Baptist Pastor and the other a COCIN Pastor, were recovered at Ngar village of Gashish.

Ladies and gentlemen, what we find most disturbing is the fact that even with the curfew on, some people were seen moving in the wee hours in disobedience to the curfew.  I therefore, ask:  how do you fault General T. Y. Danjuma’s position that people/communities should rise in self defence?

As I draw this meeting to a close, we are worried that Governor Lalong, in declaring the curfew, left out Jos North and Bassa LGAs where flash points exist. From past experiences, we have noted that while some people were kept indoors under curfew others were left marauding.

Confirmed reports have it that last night there were attacks at Dyemburuk, (Dogo Nahawa) where 2 (two) people were killed and Dorowa where all church buildings were razed down. Reports further confirm that right now women and children are still stranded and waiting to be evacuated in Dorowa.

Gentlemen of the Press, Ladies and Gentlemen, those of you who have been following media reports are conversant with deliberate attempts to suppress the truths.  While they insisted that only 11 (eleven) people were killed, further reports later indicated that 86 (Eighty-six) people died in the attacks by the militia.  We are sad to note that those who gave the real situation report, even with pictures, are now being hunted. Sad! We are worried that some people have been considered a special race to be allowed to carry modern and sophisticated weapons to unleash mayhem on innocent locals with impunity, while those who attempt to act in self defence are arrested. We are deeply pained that the Presidency is trivializing the ongoing acts of terrorism, reducing it to the activities of politicians.

It is already public knowledge that the Vice President of the Federal Republic, Prof. Yomi Osinbajo was in the State yesterday on a condolence visit.  While the Presidency may be genuine in its intention to ask the Vice President to come, and while we have high regards for the person and office of the Vice President, we are concern that apart from the 2-day official visit to the State which was due to pressure from Governor Lalong to attract attention, Mr. President does not seem to identify with the good people of this State and their travails. It is on record that following the flood incident in Bauchi he did not only sent his Education Minister there, but personally followed the next day where he sobbed as he shared in the pains of the victims.  It is lamentable that President Buhari does not consider the loss of precious lives numbering over 200 sufficient reason for him to come over to Plateau State to offer condolences to the good people of Barakin Ladi and the entire State.

Gentlemen of the Press, Ladies and Gentlemen, at the beginning of this address, I talked of leadership failure.  We have it on good authority that about a week to sallah, intelligence reports indicated that there were plans to attack communities in Plateau State immediately after sallah.  These killings have come exactly one week after sallah.  I ask again: where is the intelligence network of the security agencies?

Rounding up, we insist that the Lalong government has failed in its constitutional responsibility of protecting lives, and property and should therefore step aside.  We are aware pressure had to be brought to bear on the governor before he cancelled his planned Russia trip (just to go and watch soccer) where an “advance party” was already on ground to receive him.

As we condemned in the strongest terms the pogroms in Plateau State and other parts of the country, permit me to use this opportunity to condole with families and communities of those killed in cold blood. We also mourn along with the good people of Barakin Ladi, Riyom and the entire State.

In conclusion, I call on the Federal Government to intervene immediately by resettling the affected communities, through the reclamation of lost grounds, rebuilding of their houses and ensuring their safety thereafter. In the same vain, I am calling on the good people of Plateau State to remain calm and eschew violence, even in the face of pains.

Thank you for your patience and listening.

FG Should Stop the Killings in Northcentral - Baptist Conference

Rev Adebayo Oladeji, PRO, FCT Baptist Conference.

US Condemns Herdsmen Killings on the Plateau

US Condemns Herdsmen Killings on the Plateau
The US has strongly condemned the attacks in Plateau in which no fewer than 86 people were killed and several others injured.

The US in a statement by Heather Nauert, spokesperson for the US department of state, said the perpetrators of the attacks should be brought to justice.
“The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms the killing of civilians and destruction of property in Nigeria’s Middle Belt region over the weekend,” the statement read.
“We are concerned by the recent increase in armed violence against civilians and call on all political and community leaders to lend their voices to peace and to work together to find lasting solutions to these rural conflicts.
“We join President Buhari and others in sending our deepest condolences to the affected communities, and in the desire to see the perpetrators brought to justice and to prevent further violence.”
According to Terna Tyopev, the public relations officer of the police command in Plateau, 50 houses, two cars and 15 motorcycles were burnt in the attacks by herders.
The herdsmen were reported to have invaded Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area where the deaths occurred.
The Plateau government has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew in Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Jos South local government areas following the attacks.
President Muhammadu Buhari condemned the attacks, describing the incident as “very painful and regrettable,” and warned that the government would not rest until the assailants were brought to justice.

Take a Stand Against Strife - Copeland

Take a Stand Against Strife
The beginning of strife is as when water first trickles [from a crack in a dam]; therefore stop contention before it becomes worse and quarreling breaks out.
– Proverbs 17:14, The Amplified Bible

Throughout the Scriptures, God warns us about the danger of strife. Yet, it’s still one of the most common problems among believers. We let it get into our homes, our workplaces, our churches...everywhere!

Of course, we don’t purposely let it in. We don’t wake up in the morning and say, “I think I’m going to stir up some major strife today.” We just inadvertently let it slip up on us one minor irritation at a time.

So, I urge you today to take a big stand against those little opportunities for strife. If you have a tendency to let things irritate you, decide to overcome that tendency. Arm yourself against them with the knowledge that this world isn’t perfect, that there are people in it who aren’t going to be nice to you. There are people who are going to stir you up and annoy you—on purpose or by accident.

Make up your mind that, by the power of God, you’re not going to let them get your peace. That peace is so important to your well-being. It will keep your body healthy. It will keep your relationships healthy. It will put you in a place where God can guide your steps and save you from some very grave mistakes.

If you’ve spent a lifetime getting your feathers ruffled over every little thing, it may take a while for you to break that habit. You may have to work at it a moment at a time. But you can do it.

I know. I had to do that where worrying is concerned. I’d worried for so many years and had come from such a family of worriers that I did it almost without thinking. When I learned worrying was contrary to the Word of God, I had to give it up one minute at a time. With the help of the Holy Spirit, every time a worried thought would come to me, I would overcome it with the Word of God. And I did that until I broke that worrying habit for good.

You can do the same thing with strife. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you start to notice and overcome it one moment at a time. Then, every time you start to get upset about something, rebuke that strife in the Name of Jesus and resist it. Say right out loud, “I am walking in the peace of God today.”

You’ll be surprised how much more wonderful living can be.

Look Unto Jesus - Pastor Prince

Daily Grace Inspiration

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…
Hebrews 12:2
- JUNE 26 -
LOOK UNTO JESUS
What does it mean to look unto Jesus? Well, we can think of it like this: If you are drowning and somebody walks past you, you do not look at him. You look unto him. When you look unto him, you are turning to him and expecting him to rescue you.

In the same manner, you look unto Jesus expecting Him to save, heal and protect you because you know His mighty power and sacrificial love for you. God’s Word says that we are to keep “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith”. That is how God wants us to live.

So if you have a recurring migraine, keep looking unto Jesus. See Him taking that migraine upon His body on the cross and say, “Lord, I thank You that by Your stripes I am healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) As you keep looking unto Jesus, your healer, that migraine will have to bow to His finished work!

If you have a financial lack in your life, just keep looking unto Jesus with confident expectation that He will provide for you and deliver you from your lack.

“But Pastor Prince, is it really so simple? All I have to do is look unto Jesus and He will bless me financially?”

Yes, it is that simple. The problem with us is that we tend to look unto ourselves. But we cannot save or deliver ourselves. Even the apostle Paul struggled when he depended on his self-effort. That is why he said, “For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.” (Romans 7:19) It was only when Paul looked away from himself and unto Jesus that he received his deliverance.(Romans 7:24–25)

My friend, if you have been looking unto yourself, it is time to start looking unto Jesus. Look unto Him, the author and finisher of your faith. And soon, you will be looking at your healing and provision!

FANI-KAYODE: A Few Good Men

A FEW GOOD MEN

As we witnessed the slaughter and were confronted with the monstrous obscenity of yet another 200 innocent souls being butchered by Fulani herdsmen in Plateau state yesterday there is very little that gives us cause for cheer in our country.

Evil abounds, acts of kindness are rare and people have become insensitive, unfeeling, uncaring and hard-hearted.

Worse-still, these barbaric events are undereported in the media, played down and quickly forgotten whilst the ruling class, from both sides of the political divide, do not appear to care less.

As the good people of the most powerful nation in the world, the United States of America, express sorrow and outrage about immigrant children being forcefully separated from their parents by Homeland Security and immigration officials and incarcerated at their southern borders, the people of Nigeria, as stoic and uncaring as ever, continue their day to day lives with little protest and no expression of horror, shame or disbelief as hudreds of thousands of their compatriots, including women and children, are butchered by heartless and cruel Fulani terrorists all over the country.

Saddled with a President with an insidious and utterly hideous agenda and who leads a Federal Government that encourages, administers and sponsors terror and protects the terrorists, the truth is that wickedness, horror, the flow of innocent blood, violent death, carnage and the barbarous and bestial acts of an undeclared civil war have become the norm in our country and we have lost our sense of humanity and decency.

Events that would literally traumatise people and give them sleepless nights in civilised countries hardly move us in Nigeria: we have become numb to our natural sensibilities of love, compassion, sensitivity and sound reasoning and our hearts have been turned into stone.

That is what the sinister and dark forces that have seized our collective destiny and that have been ruling our nation for the last three years have done to us.

We are used to abnormal bestial acts and the most barbaric courses of action and we sit back and crack jokes as our peoole are subjected to genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass murder by agents and friends of the state.

We clap and make merry as we are confronted with the ugly sight of our perverse and vampiric President dancing on the coffins and defecating on the graves of the slaughtered innocents by going to Eagle square for a party convention at the very same moment that his subjects in Plateau state are being butchered and carved up by those that the Holy Bible describes as “evil and bloodthirsty men” like turkeys on Christmas day.

Yet in this cacaphony of madness and theater of the absurd that Nigeria has been transformed into by the tyrant and his underlings there are still a few acts of kindness that remind us that all hope is not lost and that despite the evil that we see and hear about every day, we are still human beings.

We are reminded that in a nation which serves as home to millions of hard-hearted and unfeeling cruel souls, there are, thankfully, still a few good men.

Consider the following. Some time back I went to see a prominent and well respected man of God to discuss national issues and to ask him to pray for the nation.

When I got there I saw a good-looking young man with him. He treated the young man with such love, affection and kindness that I thought he was his son.

When I asked him he said that he was not his son but someone that he took into his Church and that he had more or less adopted.

He said that the young man’s whole family, including his parents, brothers and sisters had been wiped out all in one night by a group of cold-blooded butchers and that during the killing spree the young man himself had had his throat slit open and was left for dead.

He said that when he heard the story he was moved and decided to look for the youngman, take him in and look after him even though he had never met him before and he did not know his family. Such gestures and acts of kindness are rare and consequently I was deeply touched.

On my way out I saw the young man again and this time I looked at him more closely. I noticed that there was a deep and long scar across his throat which had clearly healed over a period of time but which was nevertheless stilI visible.

I also noticed that he looked confident, happy and relaxed despite his past travails and ordeal. As I left the Church and drove off in my car I thought to myself that this is a true man of God.

He took in and assisted the poor, the afflicted, the weak, the suffering and the vulnerable and he not only nurtured and strengthened them but he also gave them hope again.

That is surely what being a preacher, a pastor and a servant of God is all about: to care for the stranger, to bring healing to the sick, to heal the broken-hearted, to set the captives free and to be a good Samaritan.

This aspect of the glorious gospel of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, in my view, is even more important than all the prophecies and miracles.

It is only a truly strong man that is filled with the Spirit of God that goes out of his way to help those that are suffering, in danger or in need.

The weak, the irresponsible and the morally reprehensible never help anyone but themselves whilst the strong, the responsible and the profoundly good are more than happy to lend a helping hand to those that are less fortunate. That is the message of Christ: to love and to do unto others as we would do unto ourselves and that is why the Holy Bible says “thou shall know them by their fruits”.

It is a joy and a relief to know that we still have such men in the Body of Christ and in our shores.

The Pastors name is Prophet T.B. Joshua and his Church is called Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).

No matter what anyone may say or feel about this deeply committed and compassionate man the truth is as follows:

If we had more leaders and clerics that showed as much compassion and love to the poor, the helpless and the suffering as he does, Nigeria would be a much better place.

T.B. Joshua turned 55 years old on June 12th. Once again I wish him a happy birthday. He has done us proud.

Sen Abaribe: Call DSS to Order - Falana tells Buhari

Femi Falana, human rights lawyer, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to direct security agencies to respect the fundamental rights of Nigerians.

The lawyer said this while responding to the arrest of Eyinnaya Abaribe, a senator from Abia state.

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Abaribe on Friday and searched his house hours later.

In a statement on Sunday, Falana asked the DSS to either charge the senator to court or grant him administrative bail.

He recalled how the “human rights community” fought for Buhari when he was an opposition leader.

“The state security service has said that senator Enyinnaya Abaribe is being detained on account of his links with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB),” the statement read.

“It is common knowledge the senator had stood surety for Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB; since Mr. Kanu failed to show up in court the senator has been asked by the federal high court to produce the defendant in the treason charge the federal government ought to have allowed the law to take its course.

“However, if there is evidence that the senator has committed any other criminal offence whatsoever he should be arranged in court without any further delay and if the state security service has not concluded the investigation of the allegations against the senator he should be admitted to administrative bail pending his possible arraignment in court.

“In view of the foregoing, I am compelled, once again, to call on President Buhari to direct all security agencies in the country to respect the fundamental rights of every citizen. Since the federal government has undertaken to stop impunity and respect the human rights of every person living in Nigeria under the rule of law, the human rights community should be prepared to halt fascism which has continued to rear its ugly head in the land.”

CAN Condemns Killings on the Plateau

CAN Condemns Attacks On Plateau By Herdsmen
...Demands response over alleged recruitment of ex-terrorists

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is disappointed and shocked at the spate of killings that was unleashed on three local government areas of Plateau State by herdsmen.

We note that the affected communities are yet to come out with the exact figure of the death toll, we are alarmed that no fewer than 86 lives, as confirmed by the police, have been lost, including defenceless women and children.

We are sad that despite assurances and promises by President Muhammadu Buhari that his government is committed to safety of lives and property, these coordinated and premeditated attacks on Plateau towns were not only horrendous but also unprecedented.

CAN is at a loss how scores of people can be killed without any form of resistance by soldiers deployed to contain the security challenge. How could dare devil criminals assault communities without resistance by security agencies to stop these killings. Are these herdsmen in bed with soldiers to unleash mayhem on these peaceful communities?

Of what relevance is the intelligence gathering by the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies? If communities can be attacked and hundreds slaughtered without security organisations providing rescue efforts, then, it becomes obvious that the Nigeria’s security system has been compromised. From all indications, these attacks on the Plateau clearly show that the Federal Government needs to review its security machinery in a bid to make it effective.

Considering the level of human carnage of these attacks, we once again call on government not to rest on its oars until these criminals are brought to book as promised.

CAN and relations of victims of these attacks need more than assurances and promises of tracking down these criminals by the President. Much as these assurances are needed; they have become irrelevant in the face of incessant attacks that have claimed the lives of thousands of Christians.

Against the backdrop of the wave of attacks on innocent citizens, CAN has come to the conclusion that the Federal Government has been overwhelmed by the current security challenges. We once again call on the United Nations, Commonwealth of Nations and the African Union, among others, to assist the Nigerian government to protect us against these criminals.

Meanwhile, following media reports of a secret ongoing recruitment of former members of Boko Haram into some military and paramilitary formations by the Federal Government, CAN is concerned over the security implications of such recruitment that pose security to our nation if the report turns out to be true.

In authenticating the veracity of the report, CAN had called the attention of the Federal Government to the disturbing media report and sought responses from Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police, with other relevant security organisations, to either deny or confirm the report.

Sadly, after two weeks of CAN’s request on relevant security organisations to speak on the matter, we are shocked that silence has been the answer. While we insist that silence, on this matter, can never be golden, we call on the Nigerian Army and other relevant security organisations alleged to have been involved in the recruitment of the former members of the militant Islamic sect to speak out.

While we continue to pray for the peace of our nation, we are, however, constrained to call on the Federal Government to respond to our fears over the alleged recruitment of former members of Boko Haram into the nation’s military and paramilitary formations.

CAN is particularly worried with report that the Federal Government allegedly recruited former members of Boko Haram group into security agencies. If the report is true, we are at a loss on how the former terrorists could be so trusted with the protection of people they once killed with reckless abandon.

Unlike the administration of the late President Umaru Yar’Adua that offered amnesty to former members of Niger Delta militants, none of them was recruited into any of the nation’s security agencies.

While CAN commends the Federal Government in embarking on the de-radicalisation programme for the former Boko Haram fighters, we are quick to advise that they should not be recruited into any of the nation’s military and paramilitary organisations.

Kindly help us disseminate this information to the public through your credible media.

Thank You for your usual support and assistance.

JESUS GOES BEFORE YOU - Pastor Prince

And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him...
John 10:4

JESUS GOES BEFORE YOU
Have you ever seen a farmer trying to drive a bunch of geese from one location to another? He goes behind the geese, doesn’t he? Compare this to a shepherd who leads his sheep. He goes before them and the sheep simply follow him.

Jesus is our shepherd and we are His sheep. He does not drive us, but He leads us. Legalistic people drive others. Jesus leads. He goes in front of us. He is not like the sergeant who says, “Men, cross this river. I’ll cover you from behind,” because he suspects that the river is infested with crocodiles. Jesus is not that kind of leader. He goes in front of us.

In the Old Testament, Jesus led the children of Israel out of bondage in Egypt. Do you know how Jesus appeared back then? He appeared in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Where was that pillar? It was in front of them. In fact, the pillar of cloud shaded them from the hot desert sun so that they were kept cool during the day. At night, when the desert got very cold, Jesus, the pillar of fire, gave them light as well as warmth. Whether He was the pillar of cloud or fire, He went in front of them.

As long as they followed Him, the Israelites did not have to worry about anything. Jesus took care of all their needs. He gave them water when they were thirsty, and bread and meat when they were hungry. Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell. They were kept in good health throughout the 40 years of their wandering in the wilderness.

My friend, Jesus your shepherd wants you to just follow Him. As long as you allow Him to lead you, all your needs will be taken care of. He is your provision, healer, counselor, wisdom, righteousness, sanctification...He is everything you need Him to be!

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL

As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. — DANIEL 1:17

“. . . God gave them knowledge and skill. . . .”
God gave Daniel and the other three Hebrew children, knowledge and all skill.
Eternal life is the nature of God. You’ve got God’s nature in you. Know that! Believe that! Confess that! Then that nature will begin to dominate you!

Learn to walk in the light of life. Learn to put that life into practice in your being. Walking in the light of that life will enhance your entire personality, and will increase your intelligence.

Confession:
I am a new creation. I am born again. I am a new creature. I have the life and nature of God in my spirit. That life is the light of men. I purpose to walk in the light of life. God’s life is in me. God’s knowledge is in me. God’s skill is in me. God’s ability is in me. God’s wisdom is in me. He is instructing me. He is leading me. I am a child of God. The Spirit of God in me is leading me. I’ll follow His leading. I’ll walk in the light of life.

ONLY JESUS IS ALTOGETHER LOVELY - Pastor Prince

Daily Grace Inspiration

‘When anyone offers a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour...
Leviticus 2:1
- JUNE 25 -
ONLY JESUS IS ALTOGETHER LOVELY
I love the symbolism of Jesus as fine flour. Fine, even flour comes from wheat that has been pounded and beaten again and again, and sifted several times. Doesn’t that remind you of Jesus’ sufferings and sacrifice for you?

And like fine flour, there is nothing coarse about the person of Jesus. Everything about Him is in even proportions. Every word that He spoke when He was in this world, every thought of His, every action of His, was so fine! When He was kind, He was not soft. When He was assertive, He was not overbearing. He is steel and velvet, meekness and majesty. Like a perfect diamond, every which way you turn Him, you see flawlessness, beauty and brilliance. There is no one altogether lovely like Jesus!

What about Bible greats like Moses and Abraham, or Peter, John and Paul?

Moses, whom the Bible says was more humble than any man on the face of the earth (Numbers 12:3), was once so furious with his people that he struck a rock twice, something he was not supposed to do. (Numbers 20:1–12) His temper got the better of him on that occasion.

Abraham, whom Christians regard as a man of faith (Hebrews 11:8–10), lied about his wife being his sister when a king coveted her. He endangered her life just to save his own skin. (Genesis 20:1–18)

Peter, who was deeply zealous for Jesus, denied Him three times. (Matthew 26:33–34) John, the beloved disciple who leaned on Jesus’ bosom, was all ready to call down fire from heaven to destroy the inhabitants of Samaria who had rejected Jesus. (Luke 9:52–54)

What about Paul, the apostle of grace, who blazed the missionary trail which future missionaries would follow? Even Paul went to Jerusalem when he was told not to by the Holy Spirit through some disciples and the prophet Agabus. (Acts 21:4, 10–11)

Beloved, the best of us can miss the mark. The only one who is faultless, flawless and altogether lovely is Jesus. And because He never misses the mark, you can look to Him. He will never disappoint you!

Don't Get in a Hurry - Copeland

Don't Get in a Hurry
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt...talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.... and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
– Deuteronomy 6:6-8

One of the reasons Gloria and I have seen the results we have in our lives and in our ministry is because when we realized what the Word of God would do, we literally immersed ourselves in it. We turned off the radio and television, put down the newspaper, and spent nearly every waking moment of the time available either reading the Word, listening to tapes on the Word, or thinking about the Word.

All that time in the Word eventually had a powerful effect on us. It began to revolutionize everything about us. It began to turn failure into success.

All that didn’t happen overnight, however. It took time. A great many believers don’t realize that. They start out devoting themselves to the Word, but they make the mistake of expecting instant, miraculous results, and when they don’t see them, they get disappointed and fall away.

Don’t do that. Be patient. Give the Word time to do its work.

Jesus once said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). The Word of God feeds the spirit man just as bread feeds the body. Food has to be built into your body. The vitamins and minerals it contains have a cumulative effect on it, don’t they? In fact, almost anything that affects your body instantaneously is considered dangerous.

Much the same thing is true with the Word of God. It has a cumulative effect. Yes, at times God will act instantly and perform a miracle, but only to get things back on track. What He really intends is for you to feed on His Word to grow in strength and in faith and to bear fruit in due season.

So don’t get in such an all-fired hurry. Stay in the Word. Be patient. The results will come!

Dogara Condemns Attacks on the Plateau, Calls for Apprehension of Culprits

Dogara Condemns Attack On Plateau Mourners, Calls For Apprehension Of Culprits

...insists Nigeria's securi has failed,  must be overhauled

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara, has condemned the killing of about 200 people in the Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN) Regional Church Council (RCC) Rop in Barikin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State reportedly by suspected armed herdsmen.
Hon Dogara said it was reprehensible that  people who gathered to bury their dead would be gruesomely murdered in that manner.
"Our security agencies must rise up to the task of securing the lives of citizens of this country. The attack reportedly lasted from 1:00 p.m. noon of Friday, and lasted till about 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Where was the Police and other security agencies that they failed to respond to stop the killings?" he queried.
"This further strengthens my constant call for an overhaul of the entire security apparatus of this country. It just isn't working," he stated.

He said that rising level of violence and gruesome killings of innocent and hapless citizens poses serious threat to Nigeria’s  democracy and must be stopped.

Submit Yourself to EFCC - PDP tells Oshiomole

June 24, 2018

Press Statement

Submit Yourself to EFCC, PDP Tells Oshiomhole

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, to immediately submit himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over humongous corruption allegations hanging on his neck.

The party said Oshiomhole lacks the rectitude to speak in public as a leader at any level, whatsoever, until he clears the allegations that he diverted billions of naira meant for the people of Edo state while he was governor.

PDP noted that since the petition against him at the EFCC is in the public domain, the newly coronated national chairman would do the APC, Buhari Presidency, the EFCC as well as himself a lot of good by quietly submitting himself for investigation and possibly, prosecution.

According to the party, since one of the campaign footstool upon which APC was elected into office is fighting corruption, it will be incongruous for Oshiomhole to go about his new assignment with allegation of corruption, even as tiny as a strand of hair.

It is also instructive for the new chairman to understand that Nigerians are no longer inclined to sophistry, illogical arguments, deceits, contrivance and recourse to abuse as a method of campaign.

As such, the PDP would be prepared for engagements that have the potency of rescuing our people from the hunger and starvation which the APC has sunk them.

However, the essence of Oshiomhole's emergence as President Muhammadu Buhari's sole candidate was not lost on Nigerians as the Presidency imposed him as a pliable instrument to frustrate other would-be presidential aspirants of APC extraction and hand the ticket to President Buhari, who, obviously is afraid to stand a presidential primary due to his failures in office.

With Saturday’s charade, APC and its Federal Government, which claims to have zero tolerance for corruption, have eaten their vomits, confirming that they have been hypocritical and trending on lies, deception and propaganda.

With the outcome of the Saturday's convention, the APC has kissed internal democracy goodbye in the selection of its candidates at all levels as the national leadership, led by people burdened with corruption allegations, cannot but submit to the whim and caprices of those who granted them official protection from prosecution.

President Buhari and his handlers should however note that manipulating the APC convention and seizing the party’s Presidential ticket cannot help them as Nigerians, are now fully rallying on the platform of the repositioned PDP in their quest for a new President, who truly has the competence to effectively run a united, secure and prosperous nation, come 2019.

CAN Condemns Genocide in Plateau State

The continued genocide going on now in Gashish District, Razat, Ruku Nyarr, Gana-Ropp, Shalong, Gwararza etc in Barkin Ladi Local Government and other communities in Riyom and Bokkos are very disheartening to say the least. The killings is becoming no longer herders and farmers again but delibrate attempt to conguer and occupy the land of the peoples ancestral heritage. CAN also note with great pains the dastardly attacks ongoing in many other local government areas in the State by the herdsmen militias.
CAN condemn in the strongest terms the level of continuous genocide of Plateau people. Barkin Ladi is under siege with more more than 200 innocent precious human lives killed and countless driven out in the rains and left without shelter. CAN is also saddened by the news of attack on CAPRO School of Missions (SOM) in Gana-Ropp by the malitias. CAN had yesterday made a statement concerning the incedent at Mangu Halle as very unfortunate. CAN had condemned the killings of two persons and pray the Lord to comfort the families. Commend the youth in Mangu and environs as well Youth in Riyom, Barakin Ladi, for their peaceful action that guaranteed peace or else things would have been worst. Commend some security agencies, religious and elders for efforts to calm the situation.
CAN condemns these unholy act of systematic genocide and sees it as a deliberate attempt to destroy the cultural heritage of Plateau people in particular the most affected areas. CAN calls on the Government to use its might to bring these killingd to a stop.
CAN use this media to call on the International community to come to the aid of Plateau people as the security seems to be incapable of contending with the challenges. The soil of Plateau is smelling with rotten dead bodies as a result of silent killings and besides many poeple are missing.
CAN mourns with the families and churches who loss their loved ones prematurely and untimely and calls on the Government, the security at all levels to please arise and do the needful by discharging their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and properties of its citizens.
Once CAN prays God to grant those that have been massacred eternal rest, and provide comfort to bereaved families and the entire people of the state.

Buhari's Government Not Different from PDP's - Falana

BUHARI’S GOVERNMENT COMMITTING SAME ‘HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS’ OF PDP ADMINISTRATION – FALANA

A human rights activist, Femi Falana, has accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government of committing the same “incessant infringements” his All Progressives Congress party had accused their predecessor of perpetrating.

In a statement on Sunday, Mr Falana said before it came into power, the APC leaders had continually cried out against the violation of the fundamental rights of their members and other Nigerians.

“The human rights community did not hesitate to take up the complaints of the victims of such abuse of human rights,” Mr Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said.

“For instance, at the instance of the defunct All Nigerian People Party and other opposition political parties, our law firm challenged the constitutional validity of police permit when the Nigeria Police Force violently disrupted the rally held by the ANPP in Kano in May 2003 to protest against the rigging of the 2003 general election by the Olusegun Obasanjo regime.

“General Muhammadu Buhari and other ANPP chieftains were teargassed and dispersed on the grounds that they had assembled without obtaining a police permit.”

The ANPP is one of the political parties that metamorphosed into the APC in 2014.

“The Federal High Court granted the reliefs sought by the Plaintiffs. In upholding the fundamental rights of Nigerians to freedom of expression and assembly the Court declared that police permits for rallies and public meetings were illegal and unconstitutional,” Mr Falana continued.

“The appeal filed against the judgment by the Inspector-General of Police was dismissed by the Court of Appeal which held that police permit was a relic of colonialism which cannot be justified under a democratic dispensation. On the basis of the verdicts of both the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal, the National Assembly amended the Electoral Act in 2015 to provide for police protection for Nigerians during demonstrations.”

Mr Falana said the human rights community also won a legal battle against the “reckless arrest” and detention of citizens without trial.

“In addition to the fundamental right of every person to personal liberty guaranteed by Section 35 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 has made provisions for civilized treatment of criminal suspects in Nigeria.

“Thus, under the current human rights law regime, no citizen shall be detained in any custody beyond 48 hours without a remand order issued by a court of competent jurisdiction.”

Mr Falana’s comments came just as the Committee for the Protection of Journalists raised an alarm over the arrest and detention of a journalist, Jones Abiri, by the State Security Services since 2016.

On Thursday night, Garba Shehu, the president’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, defended the SSS’ action saying Mr Abiri is not a registered journalist with any of the media professional bodies in the country.

Mr Shehu said there is no evidence of Mr Abiri belonging to any chapel or membership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ or payment of the union’s check-off dues.

“Assuming without conceding that Mr. Abiri is a not a journalist, why should he be subjected to indefinite detention and not arraigned in a court of law for alleged economic sabotage?” Mr Falana said.

“Mr. Shehu did not refer to any law that compels every journalist in Nigeria to be a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists.”

The lawyer also frowned at the government’s permission of the security agencies to disperse peaceful rallies convened by aggrieved citizens adding that under the pretext of maintaining law and order scores of unarmed protesters had been brutally killed by the police and the army.

“The arrest and detention of criminal suspects and law abiding people without court orders has continued unabated,” he said.

“To compound the brazen violations of the human right of Nigerians to personal liberty the orders for the release of certain persons made by competent courts have been treated with contempt in defiance of the Rule of Law. Curiously, officials of the federal government have continued to expose the country to unwarranted ridicule by defending the illegal detention of citizens without trial.”

On the arrest of Enyinnaya Abaribe, an Abia State senator, over his alleged links to the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mr Falana said it was common knowledge that the senator had stood surety for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB.

“Since Mr. Kanu failed to show up in court, the senator has been asked by the Federal High Court to produce the defendant in the treason charge; the federal government ought to have allowed the law to take its course.

“However, if there is evidence that the senator has committed any other criminal offence whatsoever he should be arranged in court without any further delay. And if the State Security Service has not concluded the investigation of the allegations against the Senator he should be admitted to administrative bail pending his possible arraignment in court.

“In view of the foregoing, I am compelled, once again, to call on President Buhari to direct all security agencies in the country to respect the fundamental rights of every citizen.

“Since the federal government has undertaken to stop impunity and respect the human rights of every person living in Nigeria under the Rule of Law the human rights community should be prepared to halt fascism which has continued to rear its ugly head in the land.”

DONE AS YOU BELIEVED - Pastor Prince

Daily Grace Inspiration

Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.
Matthew 8:13
- JUNE 24 -
DONE AS YOU HAVE BELIEVED
What are you expecting God to do for you today? Do you believe that God will respond according to your expectation? When Jairus, distraught at the sickness that was claiming his daughter’s life, fell at Jesus’ feet, he entreated Jesus to personally come to his house to lay His hands on his daughter so that she would be healed. (Mark 5:23)

But do you know that Jesus can heal at a distance? He didn’t need to go to Jairus’ house to heal his daughter. Still, Jesus went and didn’t even chide Jairus for his little faith. He met Jairus’ expectation—his little daughter was raised from the dead that day. (Mark 5:41–42)

Why do I say that Jairus had little faith? Because there was a Roman centurion who came to Jesus about his servant suffering at home. He recognized the power Jesus had and asked only that Jesus “speak a word, and my servant will be healed”. (Matthew 8:8) Jesus told him, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” True to the centurion’s expectation, his servant was healed that same hour.

My friend, there is no particular level your faith must reach before God gives you what you are asking for. Your faith does not initiate God’s giving. He has already given to you all things that pertain to life and godliness. (2 Peter 1:3) His blessings are pressing on you already! Regardless of the level of faith you are at, He will respond. Jairus needed Jesus to go to his house to lay His hands on his daughter, and Jesus did. The centurion only needed Jesus to speak a word for his servant to be healed, and Jesus did. He met both their expectations.

My friend, don’t fix your eyes on how much or how little faith you have. Fix your eyes on the One who loves you, who has already given you what you need. When you come to Him, simply believe that He is waiting to meet your expectation. He will say to you, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.”
