Rising Nigerian singer, Ayoola Ogundeyi Jr. aka Ayo Jay has been signed to Sony Entertainment sub divison, RCA Records
The young singer whose hit track Your Number was remixed by America’s Fetty Wap late last year announced this on Friday.
RCA records is home to award-winning artistes such as Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, RKelly and more.
The excited artiste had this to say:
Say hello to latest addition to the Sony @rcarecords
family. Words really can’t express what this moment means to me, but
I’d like to give all the Glory to God for his continuous blessings. It’s
been a real journey from recording voice note hooks on my phone, to
learning how to record in the studio, to actually making good records.
Can’t thank @onenationrecords
enough for believing blindly in my ability and for developing me till
date. As we move to the next level together, I have no doubt in my mind
I’m with the right team. To my family and close friends, I’ll forever be
grateful and will continue to make sure you are proud of me. To my new
family @rcarecords, thanks for this wonderful opportunity to take what I love doing to the next level.
I plan on making history here. And
last but not the least my lovely fans, thank you for the LOVE and
unwavering support you’ve shown me since I started putting out records
online in 2011. Now more than ever, I need your love and support, and I
pledge to always give you the very best of me. Love!

Mr. Soldier himself, Falz The Bahd Guy, and his bae Simi, are bringing all their ‘adorable-ness’ to the pages of Impelling Africa’s Lifestyle edition.
The talented musicians have endeared
themselves to many within and across the shores of Nigeria and a lot of
people are still questioning just how platonic they say their
relationship really is.
In an insightful tête-à-tête with
Impelling Africa Nigeria, both artistes talked on their music careers,
keeping their heads above the waters of the industry and dealing with
fame.

Cool FM OAP and
Nickelodeon award winner, Freeze has weighed in on the increase in price
of petrol to 145 Naira that is currently rocking the nation via his
Instagram page. Read what he wrote below:
A TORTOISE WITH RIGOR MORTIS ! ! !
The pain of the poor Nigerian at such
a time as this is beyond unbearable. I have always supported this
government so I took the slow ‘tortoise’ pace of its ruling strategy
though unnerving, with optimism, believing that the future is going to
be propitious if we can eventually get out of this ‘alley’….. However,
with the latest hike in petrol prices, the slow paced tortoise has
developed rigor mortis, which by definition is ‘the stiffness of death’.
This fuel increase, will only serve to highlight our harrowing plight,
in a country where life prior to this act, was already intolerable.
It’s like serving a quit notice to a
man whose car was stolen the previous day, after he lost his kids in a
fire earlier that week. He had also lost his job a month back, due to
depression caused by the discovery that his wife was HIV positive during
her autopsy.
There is nothing wrong with removing a
subsidy that has been the foundation of the most elaborate corruption
scheme in the history of this country. However, is this the best time to
do it?
I’m of the humble opinion that when
the economic rigor mortis resulting from this fuel hike sets in, and
many are faced with the dilemma of choosing between corruption and
suffering, a vast majority won’t be choosing suffering.
A word like they say, is enough for the wise. |

Yoruba actor, Funsho Adeolu just reacted to the Tiwa and TeeBillz failed marriage, the actor is of the opinion that the love TeeBillz has for Tiwa is not genuine. The actor also emphasized that even if they come back together, the marriage may still not work out because they are not true to each other. In his words: ”It’s unfortunate that people don’t know why they are getting married these days. It’s not possible for you to love somebody and then go to the public to shame him or her. For instance, it’s impossible for my wife and I to have an irreconcilable fight. But God forbid, if that happens, it’s impossible for me to speak ill of her. Permit me to use this English, ‘I can never spoil her with my lips.’ It’s not possible. If you have a friend, that’s someone you don’t have a romantic relationship with, and you truly love him or her, you would find out that speaking ill of the person is your shame too. So you just won’t do that. My point is that they were not genuinely in love from the start; or let me say maybe one of the two was not sincerely in love with the other. Tunji is a man, he shouldn’t have made those reckless allegations about his wife in public. They say women are the makers of home but men are the head. Well, it’s late to cry over spilled milk. The deed is done and so much lessons have been learnt from their mess. Even if they come back together, I have fears for that marriage. Somebody is not true to himself or herself in that union. The number of divorce cases in our courts is alarming”. |

Veteran Nollywood actresses, Kate Henshaw and Joke Silva had a small conversation on Twitter recently where they each spoke their mind on Lekan Shonde allegedly killing his late wife Ronke Shonde
because of infidelity. Kate opined that the man was only sourcing for
sympathy and it was wrong to abandon the children born to him by his
late wife. She also mentioned the discovery of a child the man had out
of wedlock.
Joke Silva on her part,
concurred that it’s madness Ronke died over an alleged misdeed, and
maintained that focus should be on the children instead.
Read their tweets:
I tire oh…he wants to convince us she deserved to die….I begi. ..Let’s focus on the children https://t.co/UuBE77yDPV

A few weeks ago, bald headed R&B
crooner, Banky W told his fans that he would be taking some time off
music and now, he has revealed what his next artistic interests are. The
self acclaimed Mr Capable revealed to HipTv that he would be delving
into movie acting and directing. He said, “I’m getting into movies now.
You are going to see me star in a couple of movies.”
The EME boss went on to shed light on new
business platforms he’s springing up, including a multimedia outfit
called ‘Pacesetter Agency’. “I’m working,” a seemingly excited Banky
said.
The 35 year old star told Channels TV in
March that he was considering taking a break from music to settle down
and build a relationship with someone. He said, “Living an artiste’s
life does not lend itself to (kind of) working on a relationship. It’s
tough,” adding, “It’s something that I actively (really) want to do, so I
want to take some time off, after I’m done releasing this music and
touring, I want to take some time off.”
