Vocalist
and judge on The Voice Nigeria, Iruobe Waje has weighed on on the death
of Ronke Shonde, a young mother of two who was allegedly beaten to
death by her husband in Lagos on May 6, 2016.
The songstress aired her opinion on the matter saying, ‘it’s not by force to get married or stay married’.
She said, ‘What prompts a man to beat
a woman to death? His wife, someone he pledged to care for. Shame!
shame! shame!. It’s not by force to get married, stay married,
especially when you are with a degenerated monster in human form.
‘Please open your eyes and know who you are saying yes to ladies and gentlemen. God forbid! Picture perfect can mean #earlyjourneytothegrave #hellonearth #weneedmoreMEN! Too many old babies with anger issues! Society doesn’t care about you so care about yourself’.

In a recent sit down with HipTV, budding disc jockey, DJ Nana mentioned to the surprise of a lot of her fans that her relationship with superstar DJ and her mentor, Jimmy Jatt has transcended a professional one. She went on to explain that the realisation came to her when she was listening to song made by the renowned showbiz star and then asked who the person behind the track was. Jimmy’s disappointed reaction to her question made her conclude that the veteran record mixer was no longer her colleague but had become a father figure to her and a mentor. She further showered encomiums on the music star. Watch the full video below: |

Actor IK Ogbonna’s wife Sonia Ogbonna, in a recent interview published by Punch yesterday, gushed about how much change has happened in her life since she got married to the popular model and Nollywood face. She had this to say:
On meeting her husband
I am married to a Nollywood actor, Ik Ogbonna and a mutual friend introduced him to my Instagram page. He got my Blackberry Messenger pin and the first message he sent to me was “Hello my wife.” At that time, we were continents away from each other, but that didn’t discourage him. It took him three weeks to convince me to visit Nigeria. We both followed our hearts and made the impossible quite easy. He told me he knew from the very start that I was his missing rib and that I would become his wife. I guess what is meant to be will always be. Coping with marriage I have found marriage to be just a piece of paper that could mean a lot, but at the same time it could mean nothing. What really matters is the type of relationship you have with your partner. Ik changed my life moments after I met him. He always brings the best out of me. I became more confident, ambitious, wiser and happier. It feels like I can’t remember my life before him. On being a mother Motherhood is a very powerful experience. I am grateful for having a child with the love of my life, someone who adores me and genuinely cares about me. A lot of people don’t get to experience that. |

Nigeria’s number one ‘Area Fada’, Charly Boy recently began offering marriage counselling services and has concluded that men are the weaker sex in relationships judging from his experience so far. In a Facebook post on the issue, the former PMAN boss explained what led to his stance. He said:
From my marriage
counselling experience, I have come to the conclusion that most men of
today are the weaker sex, at least emotionally.
How many of us can control our emotions that we resort to using our wives as punching bags, abusing alcohol, or other methods of lashing out because we are not emotionally strong enough to hold our cool. A lot of us can’t keep up with both working a full time job and managing a household, raising children to the extent that women do everyday. I know some of you would say, that’s not a man’s department. I have come to the conclusion that we need women more than the women need us. If not for our money or our sperm, women really have no real need for us. Men are big babies because they always want everything to be about them and the women know this and know how to massage/manipulate our ego. Most men can’t really control their sexual urge, that’s why some of us can have sex even with our housemaids or anything in skirts. Male death rates are greater than comparable to female rates for almost all major causes of death. Men die younger from heart disease, cancer, stroke, chronic lung diseases, infections. Men are also much more likely to commit suicide than women and have a greater chance of being murdered or dying in an accident. Abegi, this is just my take. How Una see this matter, because heavy wahala dey ground o!!!!!! |

On staying young and healthy “I work-out daily. Though I also play tennis, I am a stickler for vegetables. I eat lots of fruits and I produce my fresh juice every morning in my kitchen. I am not a fussy eater—my breakfast is pap/akara or sandwiches, no lunch and very light dinner—I rarely eat after 7.00pm.” On what her wardrobe looks like “Mine is not the normal wardrobe because it’s built wall-to-wall and I have different sections for clothes, bags, jewellery and shoes. There is no colour of shoes that I don’t have. Unfortunately, I sell shoes, so I end up keeping every colour for myself and I keep acquiring more. Though I give out a lot of these shoes, I must have almost a thousand pairs for myself. I see everything I buy with my money as a treasure in my closet. I can’t really say a particular item or accessory is a treasure because I like everything that is of quality. It could fall dead for a big bag anyday. Good bags are treasures, so are good jewellery. Good shoes are a treasure, so are good native attire. As long as it’s good, it is OK for me.” The inspiration behind her dress sense |
