RIVERS RE-RUN: APC Is Not Ready For Election - Sen Nwogu

Describes Mega Campaign Rally As Charade
…Calls On Youths To Ignore Calls For Violence
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Saturday’s Re-Run Election for Rivers South East Senatorial District, Senator OlakaNwogu has described the campaign rally by the All Progressives Congress (APC) which held at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium on Thursday, as nothing but a charade and clearly shows that the APC is not ready for the election.
In a press statement by the Senator Olaka Campaign Organization, the Senator said that the half empty 16,000-capacity stadium is not a shocker to Rivers people who knew all the while that the APC exists only on the pages of newspapers and as film tricks on the television.
He noted that even as it is common knowledge that the APC went to neighboring states to hire crowd, the empty seats at the stadium show that you cannot fool the people all the time.
Senator OlakaNwogu also called on youths of the Rivers South East Senatorial District to ignore APC’s call for violence and make the right choice by voting for him and other PDP candidates.
“We are not surprised at the empty seats which is another evidence of a failed political party.  Even the lens of the television camera could not conceal the deceit.  This does not only show the wide rejection of the APC in all fronts, but the crowd they hired from neighboring states apparently disappointed them” said the Senator.
He emphasized that the PDP, as the only party with genuine commitment to the welfare of Rivers people, would never waver in propagating a non-violence and peaceful election.
The former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment said his belief in the people of the Rivers South East remained unshakable, stating that the election on Saturday is a litmus test to give the APC a decisive and final defeat at the polls.
