Christian Youths Condemn Crises on the Plateau

YOUTH WING CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (YOWICAN) PLATEAU STATE

PRESS RELEASE
Our dear Plateau State has been faced with new challenges especially in the past two weeks. At first, it was the attack on innocent villagers at Ancha village in Bassa LGA by unknown gun men in the early hours of Friday 8th September, 2017 where lives of scores of innocent people including children were prematurely terminated, and now,  the unfortunate tension that built up in Jos on Thursday 14th September, 2017 due to the activities of bad elements that threw the city into confusion on account of their negative reactions to the agitation of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the South East.
The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) Plateau State hereby state that:

YOWICAN condemns in absolute terms the killings in Ancha village and hereby call on government to do everything possible to unravel the perpetrators of this dastardly act and ensure that justice is done.

YOWICAN commends the Plateau State  government and security agencies for swift response and rising to the occasion. We call on the government to do everything possible to ensure that those affected are assisted with the basic needs of life.

YOWICAN condemns the activities of those whose stock in trade it is to perpetually desire to plunge Plateau state into anarchy and restlessness as well as leave trails of pain and agony.

YOWICAN wishes to assure the State Governor and all security agencies on behalf of all Christian Youths of its readiness to support all steps it has taken to ensure that peace and normalcy returns to our dear Plateau State.

YOWICAN appeals to all citizens of Plateau State especially the youths to tow the path of peace. We cannot afford to return our dear state to the dark days where we came from. All citizens are enjoined to be vigilant and report all suspicious activities to the security agents for necessary actions.

Long Live YOWICAN Plateau State.
Long Live Christian Association of Nigeria
Long Live Plateau State

Signed:
Samuel Asika (Secretary)
Markus A. Kanda (Chairman)
