I Lost My Fiance 2 Months To My Wedding And Moved On With The Bestman – Actress Allwell Ademola
Posted: 28 Feb 2017 07:00 AM PST

Allwell ademola is a renowned Actress, Filmmaker, Movie director, Scriptwriter and Musician who is more popular for her roles in yoruba movies.
In an Interview with Vanguard, the busty actress talked about her career and her marital status.
See excerpts:
You started with English movies but have moved to the Yoruba sector, why?
I am a proud Yoruba woman and can say that was the first reason. Uncle Jide Kosoko was part of those who brought me to the Yoruba industry. Any time we met on any English set, he would always advise me to come “home” but I knew I couldn’t speak Yoruba fluently and would not want be on a set where people will be making jest of me. Some would even think I am trying to show off. Later, I decided to work on myself. My first attempt was not funny. I remembered Madam Saje laughing at me.
Again, one of the reasons it was easier for me to move from English to the Yoruba sector was because I really didn’t want to use the word tribalism but that is the truth. The Yorubas at one time were doing well in the English sector of Nollywood. Talking about the likes of Jola Fani-Kayode,Wole Amele, Joke Silva, Olu Jacobs, Akin Lewis, Olumide Bakare and the rest of them. But all of a sudden, the Igbos pumped money into the industry (been business people) and took over. So, it wasn’t easy for us the Yorubas to shine again as we were sidelined.
You were on dreads for about five years but had to remove it because of a role in your movie, will you have done that for another person’s production?
The producer will have to pay me handsomely I must confess.
Please talk about the movie and its connection to your hair?
The movie is titled “Omo Afe Mi” where my character lost the man she loved dearly to a mysterious death. And out of curiosity and pain, she took off the most prized possession (her hair) to curse whoever was behind the death of her lover.
Have you been embarrassed at any time because of your size?
That has happened a lot of times but I don’t allow it get to me. There was a day I was taking coffee in my Pastor’s office and a lady stepped in. The lady in question didn’t know what I had in the cup , so she felt it was chocolate and started educating me on what is best for me to eat. However, I was angry and asked her what made her think I don’t like what I look like. I even went as far as telling her I don’t wish to be like her because she was skinny. At the end of the day, she was the one who left my pastor’s office embarrassed. My father once taught me that nobody can make you inferior without your consent. Another one happened at an eatery. I was telling the attendant what I wanted which was fried plantain, salad and moimoi. The man next to me screamed, saying I don’t need fried plantain in the presence of many. I was furious and gave him what he deserved for embarrassing me.
If there is anything you love to change about yourself, what will that be?
Why is Allwell not married?
I would have been married some years back, I lost my man two months to our wedding. He was shot by armed robbers and I mourned him for two years. After then, I went into another relationship with my best friend who was supposed to be our best man. (He was my friend and he later became my man’s friend.) I later realised I didn’t know him well enough after we dated for eight months. That was another heart break. Haven suffered two heartbreaks , I decided to take it easy and fell in love with my job. For now, I am fine without a man.
So how do you manage sex since you are not in a relationship?
Sex for me has to do with my mind. If I was in a relationship, I could be very active sexually but since I am not in a relationship, what could bring the thought of sex into my mind? Even when I was in a relationship, I forget about sex when I am very busy. However, because I am human and the urge comes, what I do is call some friends and we hang out together. Thank God, there is also sex toy. Sex toy will not break one’s heart or impregnate one. But that doesn’t mean that I use sex toy, I am telling you the options available.

Banky W Shares Photos Of How He Escaped The Fire Outbreak At His Home
Posted: 28 Feb 2017 05:30 AM PST

Banky W, popular Nigerian R&B singer, rapper and actor lost some properties after his home located along Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos, was destroyed by fire.
A neighbour to the artiste had earlier revealed on the telephone that the fire was caused by a faulty air conditioner which was believed to have started around 6:00am.
The singer has taken to his Instagram page and gave scary details of how his dog and himself nearly got consumed in his house fire.
He wrote:
So there’s good news and bad news. The good news is… I’m thanking God that I’m alive to give the bad news as a testimony.
Bad news is…
I was laying awake in bed at about 6am , and I just started smelling smoke. Stood up to shut off my tv and ac and realized it was coming from outside my door. Opened it to see the whole stairway was filled with huge gusts of black smoke/soot, and a fire was burning stuff downstairs. The smoke was so much I couldn’t get down past it to see the source of the flames. Rushed back into my room and climbed down from the 2nd floor balcony with my dog… and then got help from the amazing workers and neighbours who helped me put out the flames.
Turns out the ac in the living room had caught fire.. I know a lot of ppl have been trying to call and I appreciate it. Maybe the fire burnt some of the network in the house because I can’t receive calls LOL , but instead of calling to say sorry pls just maybe say a prayer and thank God with me.
Thank God I was awake to smell the smoke. Thank God we caught it early enough and the damage wasn’t so bad.. it basically burnt some of the stuff that was around it. So awards, portraits, and some small electronics. But thank God, Duke and I are alive and well. We only had to form James Bond and climb down from the top floor balcony LOL Thank God for my neighbors and the amazing workers in and around the compound for helping us escape via the balcony, helping put out the fire, and helping with the aftermath/cleaning.
Thank God for life. And I’m not even upset.. I’m just grateful for life and health and for the grace and mercy of God on my life. I figure I’m about to have the best year ever so the devil tried to throw a tantrum. But not today Satan. Not today, not ever. Now sit back and watch me be great. By God’s grace. Amen. God bless you all.

Rivers PDP Rejects All Charges Against Nwanosike, Sekibo, Odiari, Others

…Hails Their Release
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Bro. Felix Obuah has described the accusations and charges brought against the Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Samuel Nwanosike, Hon. Rowland Sekibo, Hon. Odiari Princewill and other chieftains of the party as not only frivolous but totally unacceptable.
In a statement issued by the PDP Chairman and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam, the party further stated that the charges were laughable and could not stand in the temple of justice.
Bro. Obuah wondered why the police would connive with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to concoct lies and misrepresent the truth about what really transpired in Etche on Saturday, February 25, 2017 during the rerun election in the area.
While lamenting that the charges were trumped up, the PDP Chairman noted that the action has vindicated the party’s insistence that security agencies are in alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to hound and victimize the PDP in the State.
“How else can we explain the drama that took place on that Election Day in Etche?  It is regrettable that the Police have continued to allow themselves to be used by the APC just to achieve its selfish interest.  The Police and other security agencies are giving Nigerians more reason to believe that they are a militant wing of the APC”, Bro. Obuah said.
The PDP Chairman also took a swipe on the Police for querying the presence of Hon. Nwanosike and the other accused PDP chieftains who are not natives of the Etche and Omuma on the said Election Day, but were on a legal election duty as PDP Agents.
According to Obuah, the PDP has it on good authority that some APC chieftains like Barry Mpigi who hails from Tai LGA, Chidi Wihioka, Allwell Onyeso and Welendu Amadi, all from Ikwerre LGA, were moving around with the defeated candidate of the APC for Etche Omuma Federal Constituency, Ogbonna Nwuche on same Election Day, unhindered by the security agents.
“What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.  If the police is telling us that only people from Etche and Omuma should be present in the area on that Election Day, then they should have arrested and prosecuted these APC chieftains who were obviously in Etche to influence the outcome of the election”, Bro. Obuah posited.
The PDP however lauded the court for granting bail on the PDP chieftain and described the judiciary as the hope of the oppressed.
Signed:

Jerry Needam
Special Adviser on Media and Publicity

Bro Felix Obuah

NIGERIAN AIR FORCE ADAPTS TRAINER AIRCRAFT FOR COMBAT ROLE

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has adapted its L-39ZA trainer aircraft for combat role. The decision was informed by the need to commit more platforms to the various Internal Security Operations in which the NAF is currentlyengaged. Hitherto, the NAF had employed the L-39ZA aircraft solely for basic flying training though the aircraft is capable of undertaking light ground attack.

However, this combat capability of the aircraft was never exploited before now because of the role to which it was employed.

Preparatory to the new role, the NAF successfully test fired the weaponised aircraft fitted with rockets and canons. The firing display, as shown in the enclosed declassified footage, was conducted at NAF Air Range in Kwenev, Makurdi, Benue State.

This feat marks another milestone in the driveby the current leadership of the NAF to achieve self reliance through research and   development. Recall that the L-39ZA aircraft was inducted into NAF inventory as a basic trainer in November 1986. While retaining this role, it has now been adapted to undertake light ground attack.

N2.8bn Fraud: Trial of Ex-NBC Boss, Mba, Others Begin

The trial of a former Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Emeka Mba who is facing a 15-count charge of money laundering and procurement fraud to the tune of N2.8billion commenced on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, presenting its first witness, John Ejim Mba is standing trial alongside a former Director of Finance of NBC, Patrick Areh; Basil Udotai (trading in the name and style of Technology Advisors) and Babatunde Amure (trading in name and style of Divine Partners) before Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

They were alleged to have at various times connived and transferred state funds to the tune of N2.9billion from the account of NBC through various proxies for personal gains.

Mba was also alleged to have used his office as former DG to award contracts without following due procurement process.

Ejim, an operative of EFCC, while being led in evidence by counsel to EFCC, Prince Ben Ikani, told the court that his investigation was an offshoot of a petition dated December 30, 2015, to the Presidency by one Okey Nwafor and copied to the Executive Chairman of the EFCC.

“The petition alleged among others things: a diversion of proceeds of sale of 700Mhz of Spectrum to an account held by NBC in Zenith bank and that the amount diverted was illegally paid to 5 setup proxies and manufacturers under the digital switch platform”, he said.

When Ikani sought to tender the document (copy of the petition) in evidence, Mba’s counsel, S. I. Ameh, SAN, objected saying, “the witness cannot be examined on a document he did not make”.

Also counsel to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th defendants - I. F Chude, P. Erukoro and Ikoro M. Ikoro respectively aligned themselves with the objection raised by Ameh, while Erukoro added that there was no evidence of stamp duty paid by the prosecution on the document as stipulated by law.

Responding, Ikani noted that the witness, as an investigator, was only stating what led to the investigation and that in law, what matters is the relevance of the document tendered.
In a bench ruling, Justice Kolawole overruled the objection saying, “the document sought to be tendered is relevant to the case” and admitted it as exhibit 1.

Continuing, the PW1 said he invited the account officer as well as the compliance officer of Zenith bank who brought along the account opening documents in which it was discovered that Mba was a co-signatory to the account.

“The documents revealed the deposit of a lump sum of N34.1billion and a transfer of N2.8billion from the said account to Technology Advisors.
“We invited Emeka Mba and Patrick Areh to further interrogate them on the matter.”

“I attended to Patrick Areh who volunteered his statement after I availed him a copy of the petition”, Ejim stated.
Ikani sought to tender the document (2nd defendant’s statement) in evidence, but its admissibility was objected by Chude, who said that the statement was not voluntarily obtained.
Justice Kolawole, thereafter, adjourned to March 8, 2017 for a trial-within-trial to determine the voluntariness of the statement.

Kenneth Copeland Gives You the Secret of Accessing Divine Blessings

His Extravagant Love
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
– Deuteronomy 28:2
Some people have very low expectations of what God will provide for them materially. They trust Him to feed and clothe them, but they don't trust Him to feed and clothe them very well!
Somehow they've gotten the idea that God's an old miser who will do little more than put rags on their backs and beans on their tables. But that's not what Jesus told us. He said in Matthew 6 that God would clothe us better than He clothed Solomon. That one statement alone proves that God wants to do more than just meet our basic needs. He wants to bless us abundantly. I know that from personal experience.
A few years ago I came home and found two expensive automobiles parked in my driveway. They'd been given to me to use by men who'd been blessed by the Lord through my ministry.
I was baffled. "Lord," I said, "I didn't need these cars. I hadn't asked You for them, and I wasn't believing for them. What are they doing here?"
Then the Lord spoke up on the inside of me. Have you ever read the scripture in Deuteronomy that says blessings shall come on and overtake those who hearken to My voice?
"Yes," I answered.
Well, son, He said, you've just been overtaken.
Am I saying God gave me those expensive cars just so I could enjoy them? Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying.
First Timothy 6:17 says, "[He] giveth us richly all things to enjoy." God is a loving Father. He gets great pleasure from blessing His children. He's extravagant where we're concerned. But don't let that worry you. He can afford it.
Once you truly believe that and begin to hearken to His voice, it won't be long before His blessings will be overtaking you.

Convince Yourself, Not God - Joseph Prince

For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
Mark 5:28

- FEBRUARY 26 -
CONVINCE YOURSELF, NOT GOD

With a crowd thronging Him, Jesus was touched by a lot of people that day (Mark 5:31), but only the touch of one woman drew a response from Him. And her touch sparked off instant healing in her body, releasing her from a sickness that had plagued her for 12 years.
Do you want to know how to touch God and receive the miracle you need?
When the woman heard that Jesus was coming by her village, she said to herself, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” On her way to see Jesus, she probably told herself many times, “If I touch His clothes, I will be healed. I will be made whole.” We don’t know how long she had been saying that to herself, but she was convinced that Jesus would heal her.
If you are sick, convince yourself that Jesus is your healer and that by His stripes you are healed. You don’t need to convince God. He is not the one who needs to be persuaded because His blessing is already on you! It is you who needs to be persuaded that God has already given you your miracle. That is the reason you confess His Word—to convince yourself, not God, to persuade your heart, not His.
Some people confess their faith to others to convince God indirectly. For example, if they are believing God for healing, they go around telling their friends, “I am believing God for healing.” They are actually trying to convince or persuade God to heal them. They are telling God, “I’ve told so many people what I am believing You for. It would be very embarrassing if You don’t make it happen.” Their confession proceeds from unbelief and is used to manipulate God.
It is okay to tell others if you want to, so that they can stand in faith with you for your miracle. But don’t do it to prove your faith to God and to convince Him. You just need to convince yourself that God loves you and delights in blessing you. Just say to yourself, “By His stripes I am healed. I will not suffer lack. I am greatly blessed, highly favored, deeply loved!” And let God take care of the rest.

The Presidency: Osinbajo and Unquestionable Loyalty

By Yushau A. Shuaib

In September 2009, about 9 years ago, this writer published an article title “If Yar’Adua Doesn’t Die!” (http://yashuaib.com/politics/if-president-yaradua-doesnt-die/) It was a response to strong insinuations in the media on the plight of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua who was alive then but some commentators were already expressing views on expectations after his likely demise.

We are currently witnessing a similar scenario as the national discourse has shifted to debates on the ailing or recuperating President Muhammadu Buhari who left the country on January 19, 2017 for medical vacation in London after handing over power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to act as President.

The media is awash with views of Nigerians as well as patriotic commentators over the transfer of power and the commendable progress made so far in the absence of Buhari. Meanwhile, spin-doctors and political manipulators, in their different shades, have joined the debate, mostly on cyberspace. In some cases, the issue is coloured in sectional sentiments, political undertones and religious undercurrents.

In fact, there have been gossips on the motives behind recent fasting by some Christians in the South as well as speculations on massive prayers by some Muslims in the North over the ill-health of the president. Some scenarios are disturbing, as some comments attempt to create rift between Buhari and Osinbajo who have so far shown maturity, sincerity and respect in their mutual relationship.

President Buhari does not only trust Osinbajo, he assigns the law professor and church pastor to oversee the economic sector as the Head of the Economic Team. In fact, sensitive offices and strategic positions within that sector including the Chief Economic Adviser are domiciled under the Office of the Vice President. In more than two occasions, President Buhari has officially, through legislative mandates, handed over power to Osinbajo to act as Nigerian President.

Aside from the recent controversial and illegal disengagement of a female chartered accountant, Mrs Maryam Danna Mohammed from Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) and the replacement of the boss of the agency with an aide of the Vice President, Professor Osinbajo has demonstrated, to some extent, unquestionable loyalty to President Buhari in his utterances and actions. A politically conscious person, Osinbajo has not behaved otherwise. As a legal luminary, acting President Osinbajo knows the implication of wilful disobedience to court orders by Buhari’s administration, especially on several bails granted to some personalities who are still being detained illegally, he nevertheless refused to act or intervene professionally on the legal dilemmas probably to prove his absolute loyalty to the administration. In tandem with the style and language of his boss, Pastor Osinbajo has consistently re-echoed the message of the administration on war on terror and the aggressive rhetoric on the anti-corruption campaigns.

As a loyal public officer, Osinbajo has embarked on local tours and hosted several meetings towards addressing seeming economic and socio-political challenges. The deliberate efforts, in the absence of the president, have so far strengthened local currency, the Naira, boosted oil production and stabilise the polity. In most occasions, he insists that he is a representative of the president. For instance, when he travelled to the heart of Niger Delta to appeal against militancy, Osinbajo said he was there as an emissary of Buhari to offer “a new vision” for the oil-producing region.

There is all certainty that Professor Osinbajo would have sought the consent of his boss and/or members of the Federal Executive Council in taking some of the far-reaching decisions which are being commended. We should therefore encourage the administration to be focused without creating a division between Buhari and Osinbajo while making comparison.

There is always the fear that political sycophants may feast on such divisive and distractive debates to create avoidable complications which almost consumed two previous administrations. The political imbroglio between President Olusegun Obasanjo and Vice President Atiku Abubakar as well as cabal-infused impasse between President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Vice President Goodluck Jonathan were triggered by reckless sentiments from supporters

It is always painful any insinuation that questions the loyalty of a subordinate and doubts the strength and competence of the boss. Such a dilemma merely creates feeling of betrayal and instigates a crisis of confidence that can distract and derail a focused administration. In our clime, there is a thin line between sanity and insanity among political fans (fanatics) whose supports are based on ethnic, religious and sectional sentiments.

We should therefore, support the brilliant strides of acting President Osinbajo in sustaining the tempo of progressiveness and pray for the safe return of President Buhari to carry on the task of greater nationhood.

Xenophobic Attacks: Nigeria Talks Tough

Attacks on Nigerians: South Africa’s Malusi Gigaba got it all wrong

My attention was drawn to South Africa’s Home Affairs Minister Mr. Malusi Gigaba’s statement in the aftermath of the xenophobic attacks, which has also brought reprisal attacks on MTN, a South African business conglomerate that “such issues were better discussed at the diplomatic levels” when more than 100 Nigerian lives have been lost in South Africa.

It appears that Mr. Gigaba would rather dwell on and entertain himself with diplomatic niceties when the welfare of Nigerians resident in South Africa are at stake now more than any time in recent history.

His response to the xenophobic attacks, which has now become a recurring decimal on Africans, most especially Nigerians living peacefully in their host country of South Africa was indeed unfortunate.

While it's no longer news that law-abiding Nigerians in that country have borne the major brunt of these attacks, the news by the Home Affairs Minister that his country is trying to get rid of criminals in his country at the time when indiscriminate mayhem and looting of law-abiding Nigerians is very suspicious, to say the least. Even if this unguarded statement must be taken in its face value, we wonder if wanton destruction and indiscriminate killing of their African brothers is the most sensible excuse to give. The home affairs minister should have been more guarded and introspective in his statements so as not to further fan the embers of xenophobia that may get out control if care is not taken.

Nigeria and South Africa have a long-standing diplomatic relationship in which the former played a critical, if not a pivotal role that culminated in ending apartheid, among so many of her positive interventions.

Indiscriminate killings, in which 116 deaths have been recorded of her people MUST not be how Nigeria should be paid back. Xenophobia is such a debilitating social disease, based mostly on ignorance, in which its carrier also suffers. I therefore suggest that the home affairs minister should engage in the mass education of the South African people about the debilitating effects of this disease with immediate effect.

It's apt to mention at this juncture that the home affairs minister only met with African consulates forum, an association of African consuls general, based in South Africa recently , despite the fact that this meeting was long overdue.

Mr. Gigaba’s response to the mayhem that a segment of the South African people perpetrated on law-abiding Nigerians in South Africa smirks of insensitivity, and it’s therefore very reprehensible, if not unacceptable. In view of this unfortunate statement, I am therefore restating my earlier call on the African Union (AU) to take up the South Africa's xenophobic issue as a matter of urgency.

The days that the Nigerian government will fold its arms while its citizens are maltreated to the point that some of them have lost their lives for no just cause are long gone.

Ex-Gov Suswam Arrested by DSS Over Illegal arms, 21 C of O, 41 Exotic Cars

DSS Press Release
The Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to inform the public that on 24th February, 2017, between 2100 hours and 0242 hours, the Service executed a search warrant, at the property of Dunes Investment and Global Properties Ltd, located at No 44 Aguiyi Ironsi Way, Maitama-Abuja.

The operation was informed by intelligence that some incriminating items were stashed in the boots of cars parked at the property, particularly a Mercedes Benz S550 (BWR 135AH), and Masarati 4.7 (BWR 207 AJ), which were subsequently confiscated.

Consequently, on 25th February, 2017, about 1000hours, in the presence of two (2) private security officers employed by Dunes Investment, the cars were searched and the following items were recovered:

Weapons:
(i) Glock pistol with two (2) magazines and a total of Twenty-Nine (29) rounds of ammunition;
(ii) Mini-Uzi with two (2) magazines containing 10 rounds and 4 rounds respectively;
(iii) Forty-two (42) extra rounds of ammunition contained in a pack; and
(iv) One (1) AK-47.

Other items recovered include:
i. Twenty-one (21) Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) and one (1) Offer of Statutory Right of
Occupancy;
ii. Twenty-three (23) Luxury designer watches; and
iii. Forty-five (45) keys to various exotic cars.

Following this discovery, the Service launched further investigation which revealed that the cars and the recovered items belong to the former Governor of Benue State, Gabriel SUSWAN who has already been invited by the Service and presently helping in the investigations.

It is in the light of this latest development that the Service wishes to sound a note of warning to persons and groups that it will no longer tolerate any acts of lawlessness by those who ought to be law abiding and responsible citizens. The Service has also observed with total dismay the inciting utterances of some political actors whose activities heat-up the polity.

It also wishes to express its disappointment with these politicians who, in their desperation, are engaged in hate speeches and even sponsorship of radio campaign jingles when the electoral umpire has not authorized such campaigns in line with the Electoral Act. More worrisome is the unpatriotic involvement of some media outfits in these divisive tendencies which negate their constitutional role as the fourth estate of the realm.

In line with its statutory mandate of maintaining the peace and internal security of the country, the Service hereby restates its commitment to go after anyone no matter how highly placed who engages in acts capable of causing the breach of peace in the country.
Thank You.

Tony OPUIYO
Department of State Services,
Abuja.

Why My Marriage Crashed – Femi Kuti
Posted: 25 Feb 2017 06:00 AM PST
Femi Kuti is a Nigerian musician born in London and raised in Lagos. He is the eldest son of afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti and a grandchild of a political campaigner, women’s rights activist and traditional aristocrat Funmilayo Ransome Kuti.
In a recent chat with Saturday Sun, the four-time Grammy Awards nominee opens up on his battles with his late dad, the recent national protest and why his marriage to Funke crashed among other interesting issues.
Read below;
This year marks 40 years of the destruction of Kalakuta Republic. Do you have any memory of the event?
I was coming back from school when I saw soldiers going there (Kalakuta Republic). I turned back, told my mother what I saw. But by the time we returned, Kalakuta had been burnt down. I thought they had killed Fela. Women were raped and beaten mercilessly. My grandmother was thrown out from the first floor and she later died from injuries sustained.
Today, people refer to you as the King of Afrobeat. How has the journey been for you?
It was never about taking over from my father but the need to build myself, find myself and achieve my own success. When I left Fela, everybody wrote me of.  So, I decided to make name in Europe and America. Here people  wanted me to be the replica of my father and I did not want to live in his shadow. And he did not accept the fact that I protested against him. I was disliked because they felt I was rebelling against the idol. It was never my intention to be like him. Of course, I should look like him and sound like him. If I did not, I would have to ask my mum who my father was. But I can identify myself in the chaos and that is what many people cannot do. Over the years, I have developed a strong fan base that appreciates the fact that I rebelled and I became successful. People attribute my success to him but they don’t know the story because if they do, they will know that they are lying to themselves. Anybody who gives the excuse that I am here today because I am Fela’s son is either envious or doesn’t know the story or is trying to comfort himself because he is not successful and still living under the shadow of his own parents.
Can you tell us your story?
I left my father and found myself. When I had my success with Wonder Wonder, people  they said it was my father. Then, my father passed on and I did Bang Bang Bang! an international success and they couldn’t give the credit to my father. That was when they started giving me my credit. When I had my first Grammy nomination they said it was because I was Fela’s son. Many of them I found out don’t even watch or listen to me. They only read about me, hear about me and are judgmental.
Was there any time you felt like giving up after you rebelled?
No, when I stepped out, it was a matter of succeed or die. The day I stepped out, I knew I was going into the wilderness. When you make that kind of move, there is no turning back. You either succeed or die trying.
Any plans to marry again?
I have never believed in marriage. And I still don’t believe in it but I am happy I experienced it. I believe if I probably hadn’t married my wife we would still be together, and because of my upbringing, my wife and I are very close. I have a very open mind; I  don’t let the marriage break-up get to me.  And see what we took away from the marriage. We have a very handsome son who is doing us proud and if we did not meet we probably wouldn’t have had him. This overrides all the bad times we ever had. And we did have some good time. And I know why it did not work. When we got married we were young and then success just came from nowhere, and while I was becoming so successful, the same thing that happened to my father started happening to me.
Everybody was misunderstanding where I was coming from and piling pressure on me. Even Fela did not have that kind of success I experienced back then with Bang Bang Bang!, at that time in Nigeria. My dad never had a hit like Bang Bang Bang! Internationally, every radio station was playing it. I am out of this country for eight months in a year. At every major festival I was headlining, it was Bang, Bang, Bang! It was incredible!

“I Am Ready For Marriage” – Uti Nwachukwu
Posted: 25 Feb 2017 05:00 AM PST

Uti Nwachukwu is a Nigerian actor, TV presenter, model and MC from Lagos best known as the winner of Big Brother All Stars, in 2010.
Speaking with Saturday Sun, he has indicated that he is now in a very happy relationship and might walk down the aisle soon.
In Uti’s words; ‘’I like the way she makes me feel. I blush every time I talk about her. Whenever I display my madness she knows how to calm me down. I don’t feel chocked in our relationship. Even when I feel choked, it doesn’t make want to run away from the relationship,’
On how he spent his Valentine; ‘’I sent her a very romantic text message in the morning to spice up her day and the text got her real good. She was just blushing. Well, she is not in Nigeria so we didn’t spend it together. For me here, it was work and more work. As an entertainer, we don’t really celebrate festive periods because that’s when  our work gets serious.”
On plans for marriage the OAP hinted that he is indeed looking forward to settling down and having kids; “Marriage doesn’t have to do with age but maturity. African mothers have to accept change and stop putting pressures on their children to give them grandchildren.  Women of nowadays want more; they just don’t want to bear that title ‘wife’ alone. They also want to take charge and contribute immensely to the home. Who wants a woman that only paints nails and crosses her legs at home. I believe in ‘flex well’ and then ‘calm down’. For me, I have ‘flexed well’  now I am ‘calming down’ and getting ready to settle down.’’

Comedian Seyilaw’s Reply To Kemi Olunloyo Over His Daughter’s Weight Is Epic
Posted: 25 Feb 2017 01:00 AM PST
Ace comedian, Seyilaw, took to his Instagram page to respond to Kemi Olunloyo who just said on her Instagram page that the baby was fat and had to be guarded.
Kemi wrote; ‘Cute daughter of @Seyilaw1 Tiwaloluwa still has those thick arm and full cheeks. Seyi and mom should still keep tabs on her weight as I mentioned two weeks ago. Childhood obesity has to be monitored. I promote healthy kids as a pharmacist and healthwise educator.’
Dr Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo Pharm.D’
Seyi Law did not hesitate to respond.
Read his reply below:
‘ Awwww!!! Dr. KEMI OMOLOLU-OLUNLOYO Pharma. D has dished out her medical advice and it is good. Nobody is perfect and sometimes our good advice or idea might come out wrongly, but that doesn’t totally spoil the core of the importance. It is true there is a rise in child obesity, but concluding on a child without prior test and medical findings is professionally wrong.
Some of the main factors that leads to Obesity truly include Overfeeding, lack of activities, hormonal imbalances and genetic factors. The measurement of these factors to determine the weight level of a child is done at a more active age. It is also a natural and well known medical fact that children have a level of fat retention to help combat cold in their surroundings and as they grow and become more active, most of the fat is lost to energy burning.
If a child weighs 8.3lbs with a height of 60cm at almost 5 months, you can tell that such child is not fat, a fact that Aunty Kemi, my friend didn’t check with me. It is also worthy to know that a child that feeds at 4oz (120ml) every 3 or 4 hour without breastfeeding has a healthy eating pattern. The fact that you are a pharmacist doesn’t mean you know better.
The truth is I have cause to disagree with people and people with me, but I know Aunty Kemi, my friend will do better to make her findings before sharing. Thanks guys.’
