We Grieved With Asake's Death - Letheran Church

*We grieve the death of Rev. Dr. Musa Asake yet consoled in Christ!*

I received with great shock the tragic news of the sudden death of our dear brother and colleague in ministry, Rev Dr. Musa Asake. It was humanly shocking having heard him address the press not long ago. What a mighty God we serve! Surely, as the Prophet Isaiah says, Gods ways and thoughts are too deep and distant from ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).

The death of Rev. Dr. Asake is indeed a painful loss to the body of Christ and the country at large particularly at this challenging time when such prophetic and pastoral voices are most needed. No doubt his death has left a huge vacuum from this mundane space. Yet in our grief, we are grateful to God for Rev. Dr. Asakes outstanding and courageous leadership with a high sense of devotion to his role as a minister of the gospel in the ecumenical body of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). His life and service to God and humanity will continue to be cherished and remembered with praise and thanksgiving to God.

I send condolences on behalf of The Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) to the family of our dear brother, the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) family, the TEKAN/ECWA block of CAN, the Christian Association of Nigeria National Secretariat and the entire body of Christ in Nigeria.

I end with the Words of Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:14, which reminds us “since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died." I pray that we be consoled by this biblical admonition as we all journey this life with faith, hope and love while awaiting our destined time to meet with the Lord Jesus Christ in Glory. Amen.

Signed
*Most Rev. Musa Panti Filibus, PhD*
The Archbishop
