The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today November 1, 2016 arraigned one Ahmed Tijjani Umar and his two companies, Eximab Integrated Link Limited and Minanta Enterprises Limited before Justice Tukur Mu'azu of Kaduna State High Court on three counts of obtaining under false pretense and issuance of dud cheque.
The accused person allegedly induced the complainant to part with the sum of N24, 000,000 under the guise that the said amount was management fees in respect of contract purportedly from the National Assembly for the supply of pipes and sanitary wares to the “National Assembly Quarters, Lugbe Abuja”. The purported contract, according to the accused person, was worth N2, 051,534,525.00 (Two Billion, Fifty One Million, Five Hundred and Thirty Four Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty Five Naira Only).
Investigation into the alleged fraud revealed that the accused person had used his company Eximab Integrated Link to award the purported contract to the complainant, Fenabros Limited.
It was further revealed that in order to decieve the complainant, the accused person through his other company, Minanta Enterprises, issued two Access Bank cheques in the sum of N7,500,000 (Seven Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) each, which were returned unpaid due to lack funds in the account.
One of the charge read that " You Ahmed Tijjani Umar, EXIMAB INTEGRATED LINK LIMITED on or about the 10th of August 2010, in Kaduna, within the Judicial Division of the Kaduna State High Court with intent to defraud obtained the sum of N24,000,000 (Twenty Four Million Naira Only) from Fenabros Limited by falsely representing that the said N24,000,000 was a 3% part payment of Management fee in respect of a contract for the supply of pipes and sanitary wares which pretense you knew to be false and you thereby committed an offense contrary to Sections 1(1)(b) and punishable under Sections 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other  Related Offences Act, 2006”.
Tijjani pleaded not guilty after listening and understanding the contents of the charge.
Prosecution counsel, Nasiru Salele requested the court for a trial date in view of the plea of the accused person and also asked that the accused person be remanded in prison custody
However, counsel representing the accused person K. Olowookere made an oral application praying the court to admit his client to bail.
Salele replied that the accused person would not be available for his trial if granted bail. He reminded the court that this particular case came up on two occasions in October and December of 2015 and on both dates, the accused person failed to appear in court which compelled the court to issue a bench warrant for his arrest.
Justice Mu'azu agreed with the argument of the prosecution and refused the bail application. The case has been adjourned to November 10 and 11 for the commencement of trial.

Right From The Heart Ministries - THE MARRIAGE COVENANT

THE MARRIAGE COVENANT
"For I hate divorce, says the Lord God of Israel..." - Malachi 2:16a
Ever wonder how God really feels about divorce? Well, He hates it. He doesn’t hate the people involved – He hates the sin and here are some reasons why:
  1. First, He observes that divorce so often springs from adultery – a complete violation of the marital bonds.
  2. Secondly, He notes that divorce is sometimes the result of a man who deals treacherously with the wife of his youth – in other words, he casually trades her in for a newer model.
  3. God hates divorce because it treats the sacred institution with contempt, as the couple disregards the covenant commitment they made before God.
  4. But perhaps God’s greatest reason for hating divorce is because of the harm it brings to children. The Scripture refers to “Godly offspring,” and how difficult it is to have Godly offspring with the children of divorce. Why is this? Because these children have seen the most sacred human relationship trivialized and destroyed. They have been disillusioned. And what do children do when they are disillusioned? They become confused and angry, and they often blame God; even worse, they blame themselves.
Human nature tends to turn against God, rebel against God, and blame God for the sinfulness of man. The best way to have Godly offspring is to have Godly parents who believe it is worth the time and effort it will take to save their marriages.

MASSIVE DEFECTION OF BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS

The firepower of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) ground troops and joint Air operation during the Operation GAMA AIKI forced a massive defection of remnants of the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT).
Sustained offensive operations and blockage of logistics supply routes made the terrorists’ locations untenable; as a result, BHT and their families abandoned their locations and surrendered with their arms to the nearest locations of the ground forces in the operation areas.
The recent wave of mass defection took place in Sector 2 Area of Responsibility (AOR) Bagasola in Chad. A total of Two Hundred and Forty (240) BHT surrendered some of them with arms and ammunition. They are being profiled and camped in Bagasola. During his operational visit to Sector 2 AOR, the Commander MNJTF, Major General Lamidi Adeosun addressed the ex -BHT and their families.
The Commander commended the leaders of the ex- BHT for their courage and taking the right decision to abandoned terrorism and insurgency for normal life. He assured them of safety and good care as long as they remain in the camps. He also urged them to encourage their colleagues in the bush to stop fighting and join them in the camps.
“This peaceful disarming and profiling of the ex-BHT by the MNJTF
forces, clearly demonstrated extent of professionalism and adherence to International Humanitarian Laws and Laws of Armed Conflict in combat operations” he added. The Commander MNJTF donated token cash for purchase of 2 cows and 10 bags of assorted food stuff for each of the 2 groups for the welfare and up keep of the ex-BHT and their families.
This brings to the total number of surrendered BHT to MNJTF troops in sector 2 to Four Hundred and Six Four.
While addressing a team of International Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) operating in the camps, the Commander praised their commitment and sacrifice in discharging their humanitarian duties. He implored them to mobilise more resources and manpower, as more BHT are expected to defect and join their colleagues in the camps.
The ex-BHT re expected to receive trainings in different skills and small businesses as scheduled by government agencies and NGOs.
In another development, the Commander MNJTF made presentation of cash to representatives of officers and soldiers who were killed in Action (KIA) and Wounded in Action (WIA) during Operation GAMA AIKI. As part of encouragement and alleviation of
suffering to the victims’ families and wounded personnel, the Headquarters, MNJTF made provisions of One Million CFA (1,000,000.00 cfa) only for each family of KIA and Five Hundred Thousand CFA (500,000.00 cfa) only for each WIA in the battle field.
During the presentations in sectors 2 Bagasola (Chad) and sector 4 Diffa (Niger), General Adeosun prayed for the souls of the departed colleagues for the supreme sacrifice they made in the service to humanity and praised the courage and bravery displayed by the
WIA. He equally consoled the families of the KIA and prayed for quick recuperation of the WIA. In sector 2 Bagasola, Commander was accompanied during the visit to ex-BHT camps by the Coordinator/Chief of Staff of the Chadian Ground Forces and Red Barrettes, Major General Ismael Hour, Deputy Commander, MNJTF, Brigadier General Musa Muhammad
Djour and Senior Prefect of Bagasola.

RIGHTEOUSNESS AND NOT SIN IMPUTED TO YOU - Joseph Prince

Romans 4:8
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”

ribbon end

You are blessed today because all your sins are forgiven in Christ. God does not count your sins against you. Instead, He counts you righteous in Christ. That is why you are the blessed man to whom the Lord does not and will not impute sin!
What happens to such a man? Let’s look at the story of Jacob to find out.
The Bible records how Jacob had deceived his father and cheated his elder brother Esau of his firstborn blessing. (Genesis 27:1–41) Yet, in spite of his sin of deception, God chose to speak to Jacob. And no, God did not say to this cheat, “You terrible sinner! How can you deceive your own father? You are cursed!”
No, to deceitful Jacob, God said, “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants…Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” (Genesis 28:13–15) Here was a man to whom God did not impute sin!
God did not rebuke Jacob at all. Instead, we hear Him telling Jacob, “I will give to you…I am with you…I will keep you…I will bring you back…I will not leave you…” Jacob certainly did not deserve these blessings. This is one man who walked in the truth of Romans 4:8—“Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin”! Now, I am not encouraging you to sin, but I want you to see the love and grace of God toward us.
If Jacob was so blessed, how much more you and I today, who are under the new covenant of grace established by the blood of Jesus. How much more is our blessedness because Jesus has removed all our sins at the cross!
Beloved, because of Jesus’ finished work, God does not impute sin to you. What He does impute to you is righteousness apart from works. (Romans 4:6) And because you are righteous, get ready for His blessings! (Proverbs 10:6)

Bishop Kukah’s Visit, Fani-Kayode, Obanikoro, Abati, and EFCC’s Gaffes

On Monday, October 31, 2016, the highly revered Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, His Lordship, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, paid a visit to the trio of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Musiliu Obanikoro and Dr Reuben Abati in EFCC custody. On his arrival there, he met them at the clinic and afterwards had some private moments with them away from the prying eyes of journalists.
Bishop Kukah spoke inspirational words of encouragement to the trio wherein he encouraged them to be strong and see this as a trying period for them. He prayed for them before departing.
It was therefore very shocking to us to read that the Commission’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, released a press statement wherein he alluded a lot of things supposedly said by the Catholic cleric and wove disheartening lies around them.
Even if we decide to agree that Kukah said the clinic and detention area of the commission was ‘clean and orderly’, we reject the notion that Kukah said the trio was ‘cheerful’. This was obviously added to make a caricature of the seriousness of the condition of the detainees. What is there in EFCC for anyone to be cheerful about especially when someone is being illegally detained.
It is all part of EFCC’s deliberate and wicked manipulation of the media against the trio who were met at the EFCC clinic by the bishop while undergoing some medical attention to say that they were cheerful.
Also, that some of EFCC’s facilities were reportedly said to be ‘clean and orderly’ does not give them the liberty to illegally detain Nigerians for as long as they wish. Even if EFCC converts a five-star hotel to its facility, it can never be good enough to illegally keep citizens on account of their political leanings.
For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to reiterate for the umpteenth time that the EFCC is holding Chief Femi Fani-Kayode illegally based on the following events:
1)      His re-arrest at the premises of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos on the 21st of October was done without a warrant
2)      The arrest was done after the presiding judge on the day’s matter had advised that it would be unwise to re-arrest a man who had honoured their invitations, had been on bail from both EFCC and the courts, has never been declared wanted and had appeared in court of his own accord
3)      He has been held for close to two weeks without even their usual questionable detention order which they used in holding him earlier for 67 days
Rather than feed Nigerians with a new mundane ‘clean and orderly’ campaign at the expense of more serious issues bordering on illegal incarceration of citizens based on their opinions on national matters, Uwujaren and his paymasters should tell Nigerians why they have allowed themselves to toe the path of this administration’s vindictiveness, vengeance, vendetta and persecutions rather than diligent prosecutions according to our laws. Until then, visits of people like Bishop Kukah would remain a constant reminder to them that power is transient and that light can never overcome darkness.
